I agree with the word "a lawyer" but will add.....

He does mediate for us before the throne

Is described in John as our advocate or one along side........

My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous;

Παράκλητον
paraklétos: called to one's aid
Original Word: παράκλητος, ου, ὁ
Part of Speech: Noun, Masculine
Transliteration: paraklétos
Phonetic Spelling: (par-ak'-lay-tos)
Short Definition: an advocate, comforter, helper, Paraclete
Definition: (a) an advocate, intercessor, (b) a consoler, comforter,
Yep, we have a lawyer.:)

Yeah the story is missing a lot.

Counseling, retraining and the whole born again by the Holy Spirit is missing.

Like I said Jesus isn't a lawyer, He is a savior. He does more than have us found "not guilty" in the court of law.

He makes sure we get driven to drug rehab if we need it. He makes sure we are clothed and have enough to eat of we are homeless. He comforts us if we are grieving. He gives us a job and a purpose for our lives.

The story misses the mark by one works salvation mile.
A lot..... you mean, it's missing something greasy, something hyper? Some of that forever-no-matter-how-wicked-you-are stuff that's missing?

Maybe it's missing because it shouldn't be there.:)

A lady committed a crime and she was sent to court. The punishment for the crime was life imprisonment. She shed tears for help but to no avail. When the case was called in court she started weeping. Her husband, family and friends who accompanied her started weeping but there was no hope. But something happened. Before the lady could stand in the witness box a man stood up and the court room was silent. Everyone looked at Him. He was noble and gentle. He stood in the witness box and interceded on behalf of the woman. The case was difficult, yet He used all His strength, energy and resources to fight on behalf of the woman. After a long legal battle between the man and the accusers, the lady was set free. The lady fell before the man and asked *'WHO ARE YOU'* The next day the lady deliberately committed another crime and was sent to the same court. As soon as she entered the courtroom, she saw the man who interceded for her the previous day on the judgement seat. He was no longer a lawyer, but a judge. With smiles on her face the lady said *'I have come again'* The man lifted his head and said 'yesterday I was a lawyer, so I fought for you, even when you were guilty. But today I am a judge and my judgement must be fair.' With tears in the ladies eyes she asked for the second time *'WHO ARE YOU'* and the man replied *"YESTERDAY I WAS YOUR SAVIOUR. BUT NOW I AM YOUR JUDGE"* Today Christ Jesus is our lawyer and redeemer, but a day is coming when He will give a fair judgement to everyone.
Sounds like a story filled with human thinking.

Nope...it's missing the true meaning of grace and how God doesn't just throw people out on the street but actually walks along side folks.

You wouldn't know about that. Now would you?

Now what's missing? Real grace..... that gives a christian a space for repentance, & a big space at that. And if that christian continues to sin, which, BTW, everyone has the choice to do so or not, God can turn that rebel into a reprobate mind, useless for himself or anyone else.

Even now, "strong delusion" is deceiving many in the church at breakneck speed, & you, my dear, don't have the ability to see it, nor see that you're a part of it.

But don't worry, because everyone that wants truth will see it..... the real malice & slander out of the mouths of these deluded people that will use every lie & tactic available to twist scripture, & then accuse & blame the innocent for it.

The question is the woman saved at all? She went out the next day and deliberately sinned.

Some people have this false image of Jesus being their lawyer only and don't accept him as Lord or Savior.

This story is a false parable.

The title says "be the judge"

You are a wonderful example of someone who works for the prosecution Stephen. For someone who claims to see, you are blind to anything beyond you false greasy grace adversary.you paint everyone who doesn't have your views with that wide brush.

Do you people take narcissism classes, majoring in deflection?

The one with the paint roller is you.

Your favorite flavor, Stephen.

I said quite clearly what was missing was true repentance and walking with the Holy Spirit.

The story promotes greasy grace, but you don't see it.

If people accept Jesus ONLY as a lawyer who made it so they don't have to pay....then they don't have a savior at all.

They don't have any repentance and don't understand the message of the gospel from the story.

The story is a near miss at best.

Those who call on the Lord shall be saved. She did not know her advocate.

The sin issue for the believer is taken to the cross. For non believers they are already dead.
Jesus does not defend non believers again she did not know him. Nor called for him or had any kind of relationship with him.
That's what's missing.
At judgement every knee shall bow. All will know him. Some as their king, others as there judge.
Nice story but not scriptural.

Jesus clearly said to his disciples that he didn't come for the saved but for the unsaved to reconcile them back with God read Mathew and Luke again... Ponder on that

Jesus isn't a lawy
He didn't "plead our case".... He took our punishment for us..he died upon the cross for our sins.

If people understood that, maybe more would not trample His sacrifice underfoot.
