A lady committed a crime and she was sent to court. The punishment for the crime was life imprisonment. She shed tears for help but to no avail. When the case was called in court she started weeping. Her husband, family and friends who accompanied her started weeping but there was no hope. But something happened. Before the lady could stand in the witness box a man stood up and the court room was silent. Everyone looked at Him. He was noble and gentle. He stood in the witness box and interceded on behalf of the woman. The case was difficult, yet He used all His strength, energy and resources to fight on behalf of the woman. After a long legal battle between the man and the accusers, the lady was set free. The lady fell before the man and asked *'WHO ARE YOU'* The next day the lady deliberately committed another crime and was sent to the same court. As soon as she entered the courtroom, she saw the man who interceded for her the previous day on the judgement seat. He was no longer a lawyer, but a judge. With smiles on her face the lady said *'I have come again'* The man lifted his head and said 'yesterday I was a lawyer, so I fought for you, even when you were guilty. But today I am a judge and my judgement must be fair.' With tears in the ladies eyes she asked for the second time *'WHO ARE YOU'* and the man replied *"YESTERDAY I WAS YOUR SAVIOUR. BUT NOW I AM YOUR JUDGE"* Today Christ Jesus is our lawyer and redeemer, but a day is coming when He will give a fair judgement to everyone.

1 John 4:14-19 (NASB)
[SUP]14 [/SUP] We have seen and testify that the Father has sent the Son to be the Savior of the world.

[SUP]15 [/SUP] Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God.

[SUP]16 [/SUP] We have come to know and have believed the love which God has for us. God is love, and the one who abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.

[SUP]17 [/SUP] By this, love is perfected with us, so that we may have confidence in the day of judgment; because as He is, so also are we in this world.

[SUP]18 [/SUP] There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves punishment, and the one who fears is not perfected in love.

[SUP]19 [/SUP] We love, because He first loved us.

Those in Christ and Christ is in them have no fear of judgment because all judgment has been placed on Jesus Christ on the cross. Unbelievers will be judged by - as Paul says it - his gospel by Jesus Christ.

Romans 5:9 (KJV)
[SUP]9 [/SUP] Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.

Ephesians 5:6 (KJV)
[SUP]6 [/SUP] Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.

1 Thessalonians 1:10 (KJV)
[SUP]10 [/SUP] And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead,
even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come.

This above is scripturally accurate.

Hebrews 9v28
[SUP]28 [/SUP]so Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. To those who eagerly wait for Him He will appear a second time, apart from sin, for salvation.

Jesus isn't a lawyer.

He didn't "plead our case".... He took our punishment for us..he died upon the cross for our sins.

If people understood that, maybe more would not trample His sacrifice underfoot.

Thank you Ketu. I really loved the story!

To those who reject it. Why are your feathers ruffled?
:)

The story is a good one. If it doesn't apply to you, you've nothing to worry about.

It applies to those, like the woman caught in adultery and the man at the well who was healed, Jesus said to them to go and leave their life of sin. But what if they didn't leave their life of sin?

They showed signs of faith in Jesus. Did they continue in their faith? Are there some here that need to hear this warning because they may not leave their life of sin, but think they are okay with God?

For those who say they believe, for those who go to church and act like they're saved, this story if for them.

Paul and Peter warned the church constantly. The word applies to all of us, but if we don't fall under the caution why are you preaching against the warning.

We all need to heed the warnings in the New Testament. Or are you saying that we need to tear some of the teachings of Paul and Peter out of the bible?

I agree with the word "a lawyer" but will add.....

He does mediate for us before the throne

Is described in John as our advocate or one along side........

My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous;

Παράκλητον
paraklétos: called to one's aid
Original Word: παράκλητος, ου, ὁ
Part of Speech: Noun, Masculine
Transliteration: paraklétos
Phonetic Spelling: (par-ak'-lay-tos)
Short Definition: an advocate, comforter, helper, Paraclete
Definition: (a) an advocate, intercessor, (b) a consoler, comforter,

Hebrews 7v25
[SUP]25 [/SUP]Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them.

Do I need to post the scripture on Advocate?

This one phrase taints and changes the entire narrative.

This is why WE are neither the Lawyer, nor the Judge.

I don't think you understand what a Saviour is.

I also don't think you understand what an intercessor is.

Salvation isn't a one and done type of thing. Although once saved a person is always being saved.

Same with intercession. Its not one and done. Its an ongoing intercession.

Because we are weak and He is Strong.

Romans 8:31-39
[FONT=&quot]31 What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?[/FONT]
[FONT=&quot]32 He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?[/FONT]
[FONT=&quot]33 Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth.[/FONT]
[FONT=&quot]34 Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.[/FONT]
[FONT=&quot]35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?[/FONT]
[FONT=&quot]36 As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.[/FONT]
[FONT=&quot]37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.[/FONT]
[FONT=&quot]38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,[/FONT]
[FONT=&quot]39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.[/FONT]

Yes but he is an advocate in the sense that God loves us because He loves Jesus and accepted His sacrifice to cleanse us of our sins.

Yeah the story is missing a lot.

Counseling, retraining and the whole born again by the Holy Spirit is missing.

Like I said Jesus isn't a lawyer, He is a savior. He does more than have us found "not guilty" in the court of law.

He makes sure we get driven to drug rehab if we need it. He makes sure we are clothed and have enough to eat of we are homeless. He comforts us if we are grieving. He gives us a job and a purpose for our lives.

The story misses the mark by one works salvation mile.

Hi Ariel,

As we read the scripture..... If we sin we have an advocate .....

Yes, you're right - God loves us. It's because He loves us that He's given us an Advocate. He's our Savior, He's our Lord and He's our ongoing Advocate before the Father because we still sin and are in need of forgiveness.

I don't think Christ is an advocate for our earthly crimes.. In the here and now, if we do the crime, we do the time. God may forgive us our wrongdoings, but the law of the land demands punishment. Remember when the malefactor crucified with Christ said; "We receive the due reward of our deeds: but this man hath done nothing amiss" (Luke 23:41). Jesus didn't argue the point.. So while we have an intercessor in heaven who bore our transgressions, no judge on earth cares if you repent for stealing a car, your still going to jail. "Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities" (Romans 13;1).

Good point Dan on do the crime do the time, though its of use to understand our human laws of the land are flawed for there are people who are in jail for doing nothing as similier to the ages of the past. So not all gloves fit the same as in human courts and the like.
