For all practical purposes....I was very intentional about what I did in this thread....even though I ended up with 4 beers in me. Lol. Gr8grace...we really need to meet up and have a beer sometime....your'e only 5 hours away and I do end up in Butte from time to time... a really good pastor friend of mine lives there....and you made my heart smile calling me a genius.....I'm not, but it was a really cool thing for you to say.
I should update you! We found an acreage in South Dakota. I was planning on Billings to start building in, But a nice acreage came up, near family, so we moved. Now I am 15 miles north of Sioux Falls SD.

But Kris, you have a way of getting under the skin of the legalistic, self righteous crowd. I call it genius and ballsy. I don't think I could do it. But I will follow ya. They are the ones who are in the darkness that most don't come out of......the drunk on the bar stool pretty much knows he is NOT 'good' with God. But the person who thinks," Well, I pretty much have my life cleaned up!" and has never truly trusted in Christ is not in a good spot.

Honestly Kris, I would rather be a drunk(My old life) than a self righteous prig who looks down on another sinner.

IMO, they are in a worse spot then the one who sits on a bar stool.
Now we have this, because someone who claimed to be sooo bored with this thread decided to stay. Seems you've succeeded at what you wanted to do, Sirk.

The truth is that I like people....and not just the ones who agree with me. The people I choose to have nothing to do with are the ones who look down on high from their lofty perch.

sorry to disappoint you...but I am not most people.
You're not disappointing..... you always seem to do what you set your mind to do..... and people love you for it. Doesn't mean it's right, though.

You have the right to make that judgment....doesn't mean it's right tho.

I thought about sharing my story but I decided not too....and you're wrong....I'm making a grilled cheese sandwich cuz I'm hungry. Might even heat up some tomato soup. Lol
I mean you still drink, not constantly. Such experiences either make one run to the habit, or away from it.

I like to have a beer. I like the taste of it. I like connecting with my friends. What I don't do is run from anything in any way.

It's no big..... I've been called that many times..... just ask Tintin. Usually though, it's because I call someone out for something. People tend to call you a judge for doing that. That's why most christians don't do it even when they're hot with indignation on the inside. You don't keep it inside..... does that make you a judge? I know you don't think so.:)

Then I suggest you stay away from bar fights :b

I don't need to do either...because I have found the peace that surpasses all understanding.

Joseph ran..... away from sin & right into the will of God. Seemed like the right thing to do at the time.....

I'm glad you don't. My childhood left me scarred, & there's some things I just won't allow in my life because of it. I guess that puts you at a higher place than me. Don't fall, cause it's a long way down I hear.:)

I've been to the bottom...at least my bottom I suppose. Everyone is different and has more or less tolerance for pain.

Some equate running with weakness. It's forced on us in childhood, usually.

And now we're going to 26 pages, & since you've stayed it's no longer boring: You've managed to turn some against you, others have sided with you because you're their hero that that's done no wrong, & the whole thread is now upside-down.

Congratulations would be in order, but I'm not the type of person to side with a successful trouble-maker.

Just imagine..... if you had left at this posting, none of this would have happened. Since you were so bored, why didn't you? Most people do.....
Stephen, I'm a friend of The Sirk's not because he can do no wrong, but precisely because he's one of the few who has the balls to reveal his own failures and has worked to address them. That's not the only reason, but it's one of the big ones. I have no time for people who wrongly believe that they have it all together.

Running from sin is one thing. Running from yourself is another thing altogether.

In Christ.........there should be NO scars. We are a new creation.

I have literally never met a person who has it all together...and I know some pretty great men....men who came from great families and have great families and careers and obvious relationships with God. Who are above reproach...but they still have their struggles and sin issues. They may not be big ones in the eyes of the world but they are big enough concerning God.
