So for the sake of information and clarity, I'll be posting the actual commands and verses of all 6113 laws in groups of their relevant sections (not all at once.) I'm using the grouping and ordering as compiled by the Jewish scholar Maimonides, aka Rambam.
Just asking, what is it good for?

Already, I'm having difficulty with one of the laws. #9, profane the name. Doesn't profane mean to replace with inferior goods? Like when making cake, you can leave out the egg and some other stuff and use mayo instead. Isn't God's name profaned throughout the KJV with LORD and His true name is considered to be unspeakable? And his name is hallowed. Not being bound by the law, but knowing good from evil, what do we learn from this particular law to walk in spirit and truth?

Thanks Ant. You probably know I was talking about people besides Jesus, because I sometimes get the impression that there are people who already think they do as opposed to miserable sinners like myself who cant hack it.

Well, personally, I'm up to 827 Laws...........albeit, a bunch of 'em I came up with all on me lonesome......... :)

Just to mess with a couple of folks here.......It is amazing how many "Thou Shalt Not's" one can come up with in a really shout period of time. And, I like to watch as their tiny heads began to swell, steam starts bellowing outta their ears, their face turns an unbelievable shade of red, and, before ya know it..........

KABOOM!

I know, I know, it ain't nice.......but it SURE IS funny. :)

On the other hand, had that Law about it being legal to sell your daughter been in effect about 20 years or so ago... I would be like: Donald Trump ain't got nothing on me!

And, somewhere in the Middle East, there would be a Country where Sharia Law was replaced with Lucy's Law. Women would run the show, and mens would be covered from head to toe.........Signs all over the place proclaiming:

WOMEN RULE.............MEN DROOL

:)

We should all consider ourselves fortunate that we were not born as a Midianite Virgin. See Numbers 31: 17-18

the scripture says that love is the fulfillment of the Law.

i would like for us to consider how love for God, and love for one another - which is the pure result of love for God - perfectly and completely fulfills the righteousness of each of these laws, if not the letter.

((because in some cases, out of love the commands are fulfilled according to the letter, but in other cases, the written command is for a sign which symbolizes a righteousness, and that righteousness itself is fulfilled by love, though the sign itself according to the written commandment could not be arrived at without the written command itself))

so imagine you do not have this written command ((i.e. you are a gentile, which describes almost all of us)) -- but that you have pure love for God, that love that He Himself shows you, and which can only be expressed by His placing it into your heart Himself, having transformed you by the life and power of Jesus Christ.
imagine you love perfectly in this way, but were never given these written commands, and read these laws. think about how all these things are extensions of that love, and how they would be fulfilled in you by this love alone.
then, i think, there is some very illuminating understanding of what is a sign, and what is an universal morally good behavior, and just what those signs signify, and why that behavior is in fact 'good'

We are born with a conscience that is a moral compass as to what is right and wrong. It is up to each individual whether they choose to live a moral life or not.

According to Jewish tradition to become a righteous Gentile and enter the kingdom one has to follow the Law of Noah
which is -

Do not deny God
Do not blaspheme God
Do not murder
Do not engage in illicit sexual relations
Do not steal
Do not eat a live animal
Do not eat blood
Establish Courts and a Legal System to ensure obedience to the laws.

They shall have like portions to eat, beside that which cometh of the sale of his patrimony.

37 Leviticus 21:2-3 - On the Cohanim (Priests) being defiled for dead relatives.

Jewish tradition is wrong.

To enter the Kingdom of God there must be faith in forgiving God.

Nobody will enter the kingdom because of his/her deeds.

If you would read what I posted you would see that I said God gave them to Moses not that Moses made them up himself. the priesthood presumed to expand the laws. Any reasonable person would observe that even if God had given only the first commandment no man would have kept it perfectly as God demands.

Even the most moral man cannot meet Gods perfect standard. Christ alone because He was God was able but no man born of a woman ever kept the law perfectly.

Romans 2:11 For there is no respect of persons with God.
12 For as many as have sinned without law shall also perish without law: and as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law;
13 (For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified.
14 For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves:
15 Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another;)
16 In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel.
17 ¶ Behold, thou art called a Jew, and restest in the law, and makest thy boast of God,
18 And knowest his will, and approvest the things that are more excellent, being instructed out of the law;
19 And art confident that thou thyself art a guide of the blind, a light of them which are in darkness,
20 An instructor of the foolish, a teacher of babes, which hast the form of knowledge and of the truth in the law.
21 Thou therefore which teachest another, teachest thou not thyself? thou that preachest a man should not steal, dost thou steal?
22 Thou that sayest a man should not commit adultery, dost thou commit adultery? thou that abhorrest idols, dost thou commit sacrilege?
23 Thou that makest thy boast of the law, through breaking the law dishonourest thou God?

For the cause of Christ
Roger
so by your statement, are you saying I'm not a reasonable person? look the scriptures says what it says no need to twist it to make it say what YOU want, all 613 of the teaching and instructions were given to Moses by YAHWEH any others that were added came from man... in your previous post you clearly stated that only 10 were given by God, I posted text that refutes that foolish statement and now you insult me first and then change the subject and focus ever so slightly as to redirect the issue, nice try that's an old tactic used by many given to pride... either accept the word as written or take it up with the author
