3 And thou shalt come to the priest who shall be in those days, and thou shalt say to him, I testify this day to the Lord my God, that I am come into the land which the Lord sware to our fathers to give to us. 4 And the priest shall take the basket out of thine hands, and shall set it before the altar of the Lord thy God.

96 Leviticus 22:25 - Not to offer a blemished sacrifice of a gentile.

not considered one of the "laws," by who?

does each Torah-reader get to decide for themselves which Thou Shalts are laws?
The 613 "laws" are more of a traditional and historical designation, not a Biblically defined number.

When you read the Torah, it's pretty clear which is a clear instruction to Israel telling them what to do. If there is a question if a particular one is a "law" or not, the context needs to be determined. Also the consequence of obedience or disobedience is helpful.

sounds good... sometimes what's pretty clear to one person isn't to another, though... and we don't want to be adding man-made commandments or exceptions...

like, "Israel shall dwell in confidence"... that sounds to me like it is actually a command... lack of confidence would be not trusting God, which I think we'd agree is commanded...

so, #93 - "dash the blood"... it doesn't seem to be in the supporting text below it...
Leviticus 22:17-25 is all about having unblemished animals as sacrifices. Most of those verses are repeats of the other ones. When looking at the Scriptures themselves in other translations, each one is saying similar things, just different examples.

Lev 22:22 "Those that are blind or fractured or maimed or having a running sore or eczema or scabs, you shall not offer to the Lord, nor make of them an offering by fire on the altar to the Lord."

Leviticus 22:24 "Also anything with its testicles bruised or crushed or torn or cut, you shall not offer to the Lord, or sacrifice in your land,"

why use Ram Bam's man-made summaries when the scriptures could just be quoted?
Rambam is one of the Rabbi's that provided a list of all of the commands. I just chose him out of many because he is one of the more well-know Rabbi's. In addition to the Scriptures he provides, he's offering up a very brief commentary on them.

why use a man-made list when a God-made list is already there in the scriptures?

Gen 2:16 And the Lord God commanded the man

is the order of the commandments important? it would make sense that it was

maybe the above commandment was only for Adam, not for us today? but...
#68 Leviticus 16:2 - High Priest enter Sanctuary
was just for the High Priest

************************

Dont' get me wrong, Rambam's a smart guy... but there's stuff he probably didn't know... like "you must be born-again"... or that where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty...

indeed, all his days, whenever Moses was read, a veil covered his heart

Who made the list is pretty irrelevant. It's the Scriptures themselves that matter. If you'd like to use some other list, you're more than welcome. This was a convenient way to list them.

Gen 2:16 And the Lord God commanded the man

is the order of the commandments important? it would make sense that it was
I don't think it's important. It's just a list. It's no more important than the written chronological order of the Gospels or Paul's writings.

maybe the above commandment was only for Adam, not for us today?
This one?

Genesis 2:16-17 "The Lord God commanded the man, saying, “From any tree of the garden you may eat freely;17 but from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat from it you will surely die."

Of course it's only for Adam. Who else is God addressing here other than Adam?

but...
#68 Leviticus 16:2 - High Priest enter Sanctuary
was just for the High Priest
Right. This command is for the High Priest; obviously not for anyone else. Just like any verse or instruction throughout the Bible given to specific people in specific circumstances. Not every command in the Bible applies directly to every person.

Dont' get me wrong, Rambam's a smart guy... but there's stuff he probably didn't know... like "you must be born-again"... or that where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty...
Exactly right. Rambam is just another man. I haven't read any other commentary from him. And he probably didn't believe in what Jesus did and what it meant.

But again, you're getting too caught up in the list and the guy who happened to write the list. The point of this isn't Rambam. I could care less about him or his beliefs. (If you'd like to create a thread about Rambam and his beliefs about the Law and the validity of his list, you're certainly welcome.) The point is what do the commands in the Law actually say? If you'd like to reference someone else, go for it. If you'd like to reference no one and just give Scripture, go for it. If you'd like to add or subtract Scriptural commands in the Old Testament into this list, go for it.

I'm not going to talk about Rambam anymore because he's irrelevant to the topic.

indeed, all his days, whenever Moses was read, a veil covered his heart
Incorrect. The veil didn't cover Moses's heart. It covered the people's heart who heard the words of Moses.
2 Corinthians 3:15 "But to this day whenever Moses is read, a veil lies over their heart"

According to Genesis 33:11, Moses spoke with God as friends would speak to each other.

I just brought up Rambam because you seemed so against man-made rules on other threads... so it seems strange you would post man-made summaries in a man-made order.

I think we probably agree that the order of the stories in the Gospels is important.

"indeed, all his days, whenever Moses was read, a veil covered his heart"

the "his heart" is Rambam's heart...

14 But their minds were hardened; for until this very day at the reading of the old covenant the same veil [e]remains unlifted, because it is removed in Christ. 15 But to this day whenever Moses is read, a veil lies over their heart; 16 but whenever a person turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away.

Deut 26:5 and he shall answer and say before the Lord thy God, My father abandoned Syria, and went down into Egypt, and sojourned there with a small number, and became there a mighty nation and a great multitude. 6 And the Egyptians afflicted us, and humbled us, and imposed hard tasks on us: 7 and we cried to the Lord our God, and the Lord heard our voice, and saw our humiliation, and our labour, and our affliction. 8 And the Lord brought us out of Egypt himself with his great strength, and his mighty hand, and his high arm, and with great visions, and with signs, and with wonders. 9 And he brought us into this place, and gave us this land, a land flowing with milk and honey. 10 And now, behold, I have brought the first of the fruits of the land, which thou gavest me, O Lord, a land flowing with milk and honey

How the heck does the bam-man get "uncircumcised person" from that passage?

151 Deuteronomy 26:14 - Not eating the 2nd tithe while in mourning.

interesting that Rambam construes a rule out of this saying, but the actual saying of it isn't in his list of rules (that I've found... did I miss it?)

yet the saying of it is directly commanded
