Santa knows when you are sleeping, he knows when you're awake, he knows when you've been good or bad....................Just sitting here contemplating afore bed time. Is it just me, or does anyone else see a problem with crediting some of God's attributes to santa?

The real Saint Nicholas punched Arius in the face at the Council of Nicaea.

No kidding. Look it up.

Unfortunately, there aren't any contemporary sources that jolly old saint Nick actually did that. There's not even any solid confirmation that he was even at Nicea. Historically, it's pretty flimsy, even though there was a vibrant legend (and I believe even some iconography) a few centuries later.

It's a heck of a story, though :)

I find the 'everything is evil' guys tend to live pretty miserable lives, and vote Republican or something.

They just want to see the world burn.

This is one of the many problems I have with xmas. It obscures the truth of who God really is and teaches that blessings come to little children from a funny character in a red suit. There is no instruction about the goodness and generosity of their Heavenly Father in the holiday.

Then later in life, when children have grown, they realize that their parents lied to them about Santa Claus. It is subtle, but it begins to plant doubts about this Jesus Christ character they were told about also.

And we wonder why young people don't have any use for religion.

Is 9:6-7 KJV
For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and His name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
Of the increase of His government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon His kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever.

The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.

this, people!
this is what we're celebrating! :)

I don't have any use for religion either. this is the garbage that it says. Jesus is real. santa is not. if parents do not keep the seriousness of Christ and the fun of satna separate, this is their fault. don't care for man-made rules. just care about the Bible.
