And your faith and church are perfect. This is nothing more than the return of the donatists. They believed that if anyone or anything, even the Church, had even the slightest imperfection they were lost and could never be saved. I have condemned this. I said so, time and time again. And yet the return is to respond as if I have said you were wrong.
Southern Baptist convention believes according to their doctrine that if you're not fully immersed in water, you're not saved.
Pentecostals hold tongues to be proof of salvation.
Episcopalians allow practicing homosexuals to be pastors and ministers.
Many nondenominational churches claim a prosperity gospel.
Many charismatic churches hold that homosexuals are born damned.
During the rule.of Elizabeth the First, Catholic priests and nuns were burnt at the stake and hung.
Martin Luther fathered two children out of wedlock and was accused of murdering a man prior to his entrance into the monastery.
John Calvin personally ordered the burning of cathedrals while people were still inside.
John Wesley believed that if one were in the pure presence of God, one should have an orgasm.
No Christian interceded to help the Armenian Christians being slaughtered by Muslims. They were saved by Salah Al'Din, a Muslim.
Serbian Orthodox raped and murdered Bosnian Muslims in order to ethnically cleanse Serbia.
Russian Orthodox have shown a blind eye to the KGB and the Russian organized crime syndicates.
Guess what?! Those are their specks.
I HAVE MY OWN PLANK TO DEAL WITH. Too many Catholics worship Mary. I preach against it. I teach against it. There is a Church worth saving. LET US DEAL WITH IT. At the very least, let us try. Stop being a nest of vipers snapping at every turn.
Jesus had more compassion and patience.
I think what you're doing is creating two camps.
1. Roman Catholic
2. Non-Roman Catholics.
You then pinpoint errors in each denomination, then toss them ALL into the Non-Roman Catholic group, and basically proclaim, "See you have errors too, it's not just my camp."
You portray it as if we're stuck in the second camp you created, thus somehow we'll have to always stay in it, just like you stay in the RCC camp despite their HUGE heresy.
The thing is, there is more than one camp in the second camp you created
If my church/denom said gay clergy was fine, I'd leave.
If my church denom still condoned burning people at the stake, I'd leave.
So yes, one church in the second camp you created may allow gays, or burn people at the stake. You forgot more than one camp exists in the second camp you created.
You on the other hand are in a major camp that gives deity attributes to Mary, which is so hideous that it distracts whom we call on for help, forgiveness and salvation itself. I've shown that this isn't a fringe belief/activity.
If a church in my non-Catholic camp gave all of those deity attributes to Mary, I'd leave.
This is major heresy man, and your camp continues to perpetuate it.
Doesn't your ongoing fellowship sort of give some level of approval to it?
Especially to such an extreme thing?
It's not just error, it's heresy.
It does distract from true focus on God.
