roaringkitten, what about Christians who are in denial about the spiritual gifts and that healing/miracles are for today? Having a form of godliness but denying the power, Can they fool God too?

You took that Scripture out of context:

"This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth." 2 Timothy 3:1-7

When you take that Scripture and look at it in context you will see that it is speaking about the unsaved. That Scripture you gave me within your commentary has nothing to do with Christians who dont believe in certain gifts.

"For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. " 1 Timothy 2:3-4

Concerning your question to me about whether God can be fooled, I already answered that in my previous post.

With that, good night.

I think Roaring got you on that one. *lol*

However, what you are referring to is what I like to call "cut & paste christianity", where people pull various scriptures out of context, then glue them together in order to form twisted doctrine. In my opinion, and this is purely my opinion, three great examples of this are the belief that the spiritual gifts are no longer for today, Eternal Security - those who believe in the ideology of a "carnal christian" anyways, and the pre-tribulation rapture.

If you read the bible at face value, these three concepts simply are not there.

Something for another thread to discuss......JFYI, I did recently revise my opinions about the prophecy and speaking in tongues...After reading Scripture and praying, I do feel the gift of tongues IS for today, just not the way many do it......But like I said, something for another thread to discuss.....

Here is my thing, I was never wittnessed to at a church or brought into one belief or another when i felt i was born again as a christain. It was something for me that has been with me for my entire life but until a dream i had of the lord and his coming again that really woke me up spiritually. I have done my own bible study and have paid attention to what others say in various discussions. My reason for not belonging to a particular church is for a lot of reasons mentioned above, although sometimes it would be nice to be included in a group discussion. I just don't want to be put into the same box as some of these others that have been mentioned in this discussion just because i live in the US. I live my life according to god and his church, which as i showed on the first post, does not belong to any one in a particular region but reaches throughout the world.

America: LOVE IT. OR LEAVE IT!! As a veteran, I am tired of seeing and hearing so many people in this country protesting like they have been. If you people don't like it here or you don't want the american troops fighting for our freedom then why don't you go fight for the other side?! Our soldiers; whether they be marines, army, navy, or air force, don't need to come home on leave and see that. That probably tells them that they are not appreciated. Remember: OUR FREEDOM CAME AT A PRICE!! FREEDOM IS NOT FREE!!Lots of people call you war protesters. I call you who do the protesting TRAITORS!!

I think people are beginning to take the central theme of this discussion in the wrong way. I don't think this discussion has anything to do with patriotism or protesting but rather the fact that, as we approach the end times, the United States will eventually have to bow down to economic pressures and conform to a one world system.

Yeah kingdom my reason for starting this thread was to try and let people know that not all americans are the same and that there are many who hold fast to the word of the lord and that we should not be placed into a general category. Yes there are many evil things in america, but evil is not just exclusive to the US, it is worldwide. I put a scripture on the very first thread that expresses my belief on how i feel we as christians should look at each other.

Whether there is a one world system i do not know but remeber this has been foretold..all nations will fall, the only thing left standing will be jerusalem, and with that it will be a new jerusalem.

In America the "evil" there are many Christians and churches that do not tolerate sin, yet instead of sitting in judgement and pointing fingers sorta like, well, I dont know here. They choose to find away to change things. I travel alot and I have never met a Christian who is Pro-choice or a church who preaches such. I have seen many Christains stand outside of abortion clinics condemning and pointing fingers at the women and staff there holding up signs like "burn in hell, murderers". And on the other hand,. in "evil" America I have seen Christians who through prayer, love and counseling stop young mothers from going through with abortions. These Christians might hate sin but choose to assist rather then point fingers which i see all over this "evil" world. (i used abortion as an example because I have seen it mentioned alot).

"Evil" America ands most of its "tolerant" chruches all have missionaries in countries all over the world to include the many many things we do for our own "Evil" Amrican's. Yes, I agree Americans send only money sometimes and yet I feel that you have forgotten to mention they probably pray also for those they are sending that to. Oh and that money is an important part of most mission.

Someone so kindly pointed out that our churches our full of sin. And again I point out the judgement in that, since they have reallty not attended all the churches in "Evil" America to make that determanation. Please show me Christian who is without sin and I will show you a lie. 1John 1:8 "If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us."

My point is that generalizing America as "Evil" is judging. Which we should humbly leave to God. We as Christians everywhere should do more to change the situation instead of making horrible statements such as "America the Evil". I am sorry if I seemed angry or rude this is not my intention I believe deeply in being kind and loving. But I am an American Soldier, who has seen many many beautiful Christians and many many wonderful churches who's priorities are straight. God bless.

Absolutely! Do your research. Rather than humble ourselves in corporate repentance and allowing God to Lord over our entire lives, we huddle together in our little sub-cultures and think tanks trying to figure God out while clinging to beliefs that make us feel comfortable.

Scripture tells us that we should be in the world but not of the world. However, we have done just the opposite. Few of us truly leave the four walls of the church even as we step out into the world. We've created our own language of sorts and clever little catch phrases. We've even got our own t-shirts and bumbpers stickers. However, while we may have separated ourselves from sinners, sin still abounds within us.

True, all true!

We can sit and argue all day about, grace, faith, works, or whatever but the ultimate truth is...

Do you truly love Jesus? Do you love Him enough to put your dreams and desires on hold in order to follow after Him? Do you love Him enough to sever sinful aquointances and relationships? Do you love Him enough that every time you stumble and fall your heart breaks into a million pieces and you beg for his mercy and love?

Has your heart grown cold toward sin? Do you take His grace for granted? Do you use scripture to justify your own shortcomings? Do you find yourself quoting scripture at others instead of doing your absolute best to apply it to your own life?

Lord, I pray... let everything that can be shaken be shaken. Let all that is temporal and worldly fall away. Holy Spirit, come resides within us and ignite our hearts with a burning desire for holiness and righteousness! Show us Lord the areas of our lives that are flawed and are in desperate need change. God I pray that you will bring true repentance to this nation and just as your word says, let it begins with us, your church, oh Lord. May we return to your original statues and put assunder the doctrines of denominational pride and confusion. May the Spirit of the Harlot flee from your people, Lord, and may the Bride of Christ come forth in preparation for your glorious return! Just as scripture reads we pray "Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven... In Jesus name I pray... Amen

Yes I agree with you and your prayer!

I was always under the assumption that those living in flat regions were evil. Those of us that live in mountainous regions are higher than others. he he.
