Context is the Day of the Lord (2 Peter 3:10), which is the day of his return, not anywhere "pre trib".
The Day of the Lord is a time period and a specific day, just like we say Christmas (time) and Christmas (day).

2 Peter 3: 10 is about the time period whereas Rev. 6: 12 - 17 is the specific Day.

The context will tell which.

Dear Marilyn,

Can you please post the scriptures where the LORD and/or His Apostles declare and instruct us of:
Christ descending to rapture a select group of (any of the following) His Sons/Saints/Bride/Church/Elect BEFORE His Second Coming thereby leaving behind Saints that must go thru great tribulation AND then His Second Coming for the Resurrection and rapture for another group of Saints.

As a student of His Word it would help to establish for us that which we should embrace as His Truth.
Hi David,

I would love to share what I have been taught.

Now we know from Acts 1: 6 that the disciples were looking to the Lord to come and restore His kingdom rule through Israel over the nations as promised in the OT. Remember the revelation of the Body of Christ was not known in the OT or the gospels. Jesus did say He would build His `Ekklesia,` `called out ones,` but He didn`t give any details and as Israel was also called the `Ekklesia,` `called out ones,` then the disciples wouldn`t be any wiser on that topic.

Now to understand the `catching away,` of the Body of Christ we need to know God`s great purpose.

`(God the Father) having made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His good pleasure which He purposed in Himself, that in the dispensation of the fullness of the times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both of which are in heaven and which are on earth - in Him.` (Eph. 1: 9 & 10)

So we see that God the Father has purposed that in the final summing up of all things that every thing, all rulership and people will come under the Lordship of Christ. Many people just think of the earth being restored but we see that God has a bigger restoration plan. We know that Christ made all things and that includes rulership in different realms.

`For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. ` (Col. 1: 16)

Much error has come from people putting themselves at the center of God`s word, whereas it is Christ who is the `pre-eminent` one.(Col. 1: 18)

We also know that Lucifer was a ruler in the angelic realm till he was cast out. Then in the Universal realm (now) Satan has usurped rulership there. Job 15: 15 tells us `the heavens are NOT pure in His sight.` So we realise there is more to being restored than just the earth.

I will pause there for any comments or questions before I go on.

Hi my Sister in Christ,
Please give me time to review your post and thank you for taking the time to share.

Under the King of Kings and Lord of Lords, the Church also rules as kings and priests after the SC. Resurrected tribulation saints also have a leadership role. The resurrected king David has a leadership role. Evidently Old Testament saints resurrected have a leadership role. All of these groups are part of the "first resurrection".

The Church does not inhabit the Earth in the way that you describe (they are no longer flesh and blood, and do not procreate). Survivors of the tribulation inhabit the Earth as flesh and blood.......both Jews and the Nations. They have children and re-populate the Earth during the millennium....and these survivors still have the fallen sin nature. It is this group that is deceived by an unbound Satan after the thousand years (Rev 20:7-9).
Hi cv5,

I agree with much of what you say. However may I point out a couple of differences we have.

1. The Body of Christ is the NEW MAN, and never changes gender. (Eph. 2: 15)
2. The king David in the millennium is just a man for he has children. (Ez. 46: 16)
3. The OT saints are in the General Assembly and are waiting for their inheritance, the city which is in the NHNE. (Heb. 12: 23 `spirits of just men,` Heb. 11: 16, Rev. 21: 2)

The Day of the Lord is a time period and a specific day, just like we say Christmas (time) and Christmas (day).

2 Peter 3: 10 is about the time period whereas Rev. 6: 12 - 17 is the specific Day.

The context will tell which.
Day of the Lord is Sabbath day in which the Lord rested. In this particular context, I'd rather believe that the Day of the Lord is the 1000 years of His kingdom, as it is hinted in 2 Peter 3:8.

Says it very plainly:

Rev 20:8 And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea.

Pay attention to the words.....that will be his objective....but....where does it say he will accomplish the planned deception?
...to deceive the nations....is not saying he will be successful.

Satan is successful in a major way in that they follow him to battle against New Jerusalem.

So he has great success that ends in a major bust, whereby they 'burn-out'.

lol, it says he will deceive them to make them go to battle which in fact happens proving they were deceived and did what satan wanted of them. They die because of this. YOU need to pay attention to words.

Rev 20:8 And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea.

Rev 20:9 And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them.

Not "New Jerusalem" (which is in Heaven) but Jerusalem on earth (which is in Israel).
I just rattled that off the top of my head without going directly to the verse = thank you

This is for davidtree he had asked me to post my findings on the parable of the ten virgins.
This is exactly my findings of the parable. I went to type my notes and post but thought it best to post this teaching for my spelling and such needs much improvement. 😃😃
Please saints listen to this in its entirety. Very imporant to understand.
I pray the lord bless you and open your eyes. It might surprise some that a rabbi talks about the rapture and Jesus.

As the Body of Christ revelation was NOT known in the OT, we see that it is Israel, as promised, who will be ruling the nations in the Millennium.
How can that be unless you reject 1 Peter 1:19-20?

"But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot: Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you," - 1 Peter 1:19-20 KJV

How can you interpet the OT without the NT unless you reject 2 Cor 3:14?

"But their minds were blinded: for until this day remaineth the same vail untaken away in the reading of the old testament; which vail is done away in Christ." - 2 Cor 3:14 KJV
