@Scribe those are some good thoughts to sort through.

I often wonder if "the god of this world" in 2 Corinthians 4 is really referring to Satan as many suggest.
he is the god of this world but that does not mean he has any legal rights. That is where the teaching comes from I think. I believe it is very much like a courtroom in that he plays the part of the accuser like in Job. And his being cast out of heaven in Revelation is probably due to loosing the argument that he has a right to corrupt the bodies of those who were raptured, because he has power over death. He warred with Michael over the body of Moses and he wars with him again most likely over the bodies of those raptured. They overcame him by the blood of the lamb and the word of their testimony so Jesus death burial and resurrection is why death does not HAVE to visit them as the devil would claim. So even though I see the courtroom drama it is all about God being Just and the Justifier of those who believe so that simple easy believism cannot be claimed with no penalty of sins but it does not mean that satan actually has a RIGHT to anything or that his rights had to be satisfied.
Satan being the god of this world does not mean he is running things. It means he is the author of worldly sinful ambitions and those things people chase after to fulfil their lusts. It means he is the one behind the strategies of lust of the eyes, lust of the flesh, and pride of life that all people chase after.

“as a “dragon,” he shows his power; as a “serpent,” he shows his cunning; as the “Devil,” he is the accuser; and as “Satan,” he is the adversary”

Is it possible for you to participate meaningfully in this forum without using cut-and-paste material from "JSM"? Do you ever think for yourself? Or is that discouraged among Swaggartites?

Are Satan’s claims and accusations legitimate? Is he to be granted a legitimate right as god of this age? How has the ransom theory of the Atonement wrongly affirmed satanic claims and rights? What is wrong with such affirmations of satanic rights?
When it comes to rights. Christian as new creatures have none . Its WWJD?

What they do have is a responsibility to believe God not seen . Satan the father of lies is a thief in that way he takes the words of God : "Ye will surely die" and turns the letter of the law death into a wonder (unbelief) You shall not surely die. look at me "living proof" and live .The glory of God departed . God did not desire they learn good and evil by experience rather than faith. Trusting the unseen

Does Satan read the Bible? Does he believe it?

He is not subject to salvation .He can read but not believe. No faith given from heaven .No born again ears to understand. He hates all flesh that is subject to salvation
