1. Do you follow the Law of God perfectly?
No. Its difficult enough loving God with all my heart, mind and soul, AND my neighbors.
2. Do you believe you are morally superior to others? For example: homosexuals, prostitutes, murderers, adulterers
No. I welcome them into my life, living, laughing and learning.
3. Do you enjoy praying in front of others to show how "holy" you are?
It feels good to pray for others when they appreciate it, that's only human, however, I pray at work before our weekly meeting and I don't like it because I don't like the spirit of most people there.
4. Do you boast about how much money, time or wisdom you give to the poor and needy?
I am poor and needy.
5. Do you want to "help" others by pointing out their sins and faults?
I do that to Pharisees and other arrogant, self righteous people.
6. Do you minimize your own sin and justify why your sin is different from other people's sins?
I'm guilty of this. I recently said, "yeah, I sin, but I never stole a car." I said that on the way to worship service, and the sermon that day was on justifying our own sins compared to others. Doh!
7. Do you believe you have to do good, works to,earn your salvation.
No. To do so minimizes Jesus' glorious power, perfection and saving grace.
If you answered yes to any of these then you have mixed the leaven of the Pharisees into your bread.
Guilty as charged, but I admit doing so, and that's half the battle.
