Most of the posts are in agreement with Commandment-keeping....very nice indeed.....But how many include the Sabbath-Day to keep it holy ? Most are only concerned with 'loving their neighbour....why not GOD ? Those who truly love Him will try to keep ALL the Commands AND assemble on the Sabbath-day as instructed by scripture AND by JESUS' EXAMPLE. So why not ?

The Sabbath was made for man... When we we're given the Holy Spirit, we became temples of the living God and therefore holy as he is holy. So that, in Christ, every day is now the Lord's day since we are living temples. That's why the church ended up have worship service on Sunday rather that the Sabbath, they still went to Jewish services at the temple and were free to choose another day to have their own worship services, held in the name of Jesus.

Why don't you tell me again...in a few words....so we are not fumbling around in ignorance.
1) Christ is the end of the Law to everyone who believes (Romans 10:4)

2) The Law was until Christ, the last OT person was John the Baptist. (Gal 3:24, L 16:16)

3) Its foolish to return to works of the Law after we have believed the gospel (Galatians 3:3,5)

4) Paul (being even a Jew by birth) said that he is NOT under the Law (1 Corinthians 9:20)

5) We have been released from the Law to serve in a new way (Romans 7:6)

6) We died to the Law so that we can belong to Christ (Romans 7:4)

7) In the Old Testament itself its clearly implied that its obsolete, outdated and will soon disappear (Hebrews 8:13)

8) Jesus broke down the fence of the Law because he abolished the Law including its commands and regulations. (Ephesians 2:15)

9) The Law is made for ungodly, rebels, sinful, murderes of fathers and mothers, for homosexuals, liars, sexually immoral etc. (1 Tm 1:9-10)

10) The Law was not given to make us righteous, but to become concious of our sin. (R 3:20)

11) The Law is not based on faith. (Gal 3:12)

12) The Law made nothing perfect, but served as an introduction of a better hope we have in Christ. (Heb 7:19)

Great scriptures and all very true...but do they relate to - keeping the sabbath day holy ? We either keep it for GODLY use (assemble on it) or we don't !
Obedience, respect, love and humility are all that is required, not a vast knowledge of the law. If we had these simple characteristics as a 'starting point to our walk with the Lord we would fare a lot better than all the human intelect we interprate into scripture.
That is our downfall and we are actually warned against relying on our own understanding....yet we all have a strong inclination to depend on it - which is 'devilish and must be fought and overcome. Our own attitude has much to do with this, some people learn quicker....some never !

Yes, they do. Keeping the weekly literal sabbath holy is one of the commandments and regulations of the Law.

Therefore all verses above apply to it, too.

Some really good points.

Church is not a building it is the people, meeting in homes can be just
as edifying.

For various reasons, sickness, infirmity, caring needs church can be hard to get to.

Some areas have no bible believing churches especially in certain parts of the world.

I think though that where possible. It is best to seek out a like minded group of
people and meet up to encourage, receive, strengthen each other. For some CC
might just be that place too.

Yes you are right...so may I ask why you don't keep the Sabbath , since it is in the Commandments ? I apologize if I got you wrong....I understand you to be a sunday observer.

I notice you did not/could not provide scripture for your mixed-up reasoning.

The words of Christ and the words of Moses have little variance.
I know you mean well, brother, but with this kind of talk you just sow confusion. There is no difference in the righteousness they point to and seek to accomplish in man, but there is a vast difference in their natures. You keep saying you want to find the way to keep the 10 commandments, yet Jesus has shown the way - follow me. When you focus on the law you will fail because it points to and demands something you are not. When you follow Jesus' words and spirit you will do the righteousness required by the law because the spirit works that righteousness in us. That is why Paul said that GOD made the law of Moses obsolete. It is strengthless and destitute (Galatians 4:9) compared to the power and richness of the holy spirit.

The early church met daily. That should tell us something of what is meant to be "gathered" together. Christ is in the midst of those who are thus gathered...not just for discussions and services or meetings...but gathered as a family.

Community in the Spirit brings the life of Christ to His people. Those who are rich in gifts mingle with the poor in spirit...for the edification of something that is greater than the sum of it's parts.

The word liturgy...from the Greek Liturgeo (meaning public serveice) is mentioned in Acts 13:2...as they "ministered unto God"

Of course we derive the word "service" (as in church service) from this. The RC church is big on liturgy. But this has taken on a dead form.

But we must look at what is behind the words. Public service...is public servanthood. We gather together to embody Christ publicly. We may do so privately...but our witness together changes the world. So then we come together publicly to bring down the presence of God...publicly. Christ is made public in this way. That is the witness of a living Ekklesia. Ekklesia only happens when we become a bridging point between heaven and Earth. Christ in OUR midst.

In Acts 13 it goes on to say that the Holy Spirit (with true authority) sent out Paul and Barnabas. All ministry comes from the gathering together (in a permanent gathering) of the faithful in Christ.

I used to go to church but not anymore; i have my eyes opened and i can't step a foot in any church nowadays because it is in these churches that lies are spread.

Isa 30:20 The Lord will give you the bread of adversity and the water of affliction, but your Teacher will no longer hide Himself—with your own eyes you will see Him. 21And whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear this command behind you: “This is the way. Walk in it.” 22So you will desecrate your silver-plated idols and your gold-plated images. You will throw them away like menstrual cloths, saying, “Be gone!”

So what is your reason for being a Christian and following the God of the Bible ? Jesus did not come to abolish the law...but YOU obviously do...I don't understand.

Gathering for Assembly is something different than 'meeting daily which was mainly for SOCIAL reasons. But of course the RCC has meddled with this like everything else they touch and put a 'false spin on it confusing the issue. Christianity has been RUINED by the Roman church and people are too**** to see it !

Any church that doesn't bring Zion to Earth is BABYLON. Think about it. Why do we weep when we sing to the Lord.

Ps. 137:1By the rivers of Babylon, There we sat down and wept, When we remembered Zion.

You have a point there ! Christianity has been utterly ruined and spoilt from the mother-church of Babylon down to the Harlot daughters
No wonder Yashua/Jesus says the MANY are deceived and on the road to destruction....to depart from Him - workers of iniquity.
OH YES...it's all in scripture !

The warning was there from earlier on "..let no man deceive you.."
