Thought not often, I have come to find an idea some share on this site about Atheist, and that is if you are an Atheist you automatically share a hateful few of Christians and Christianity. As an Atheist I find this to be very untrue, though, yes it is true there are Atheist out there who hate Christians but those people are Atheist who are ALSO Anti-theists (outspoken opposition to theism and religion). So, yes there have been Atheist who have come to this site to upset or just in general troll the Christians on here, but I must point out we are not all alike.

Yes, I know many atheists, and some of them are outspoken against anything religious, including (and sometimes especially) Christianity, and others are not. I often refer to the former as "fundamentalist atheists."

This would be very insulting to me if I took it seriously. There is nothing wrong with being against organized religion. It's very dangerous to have beliefs based upon mythology. Atheists who are against organized religion are not the same as fundamentalist christians because our beliefs are based on the evidence and if the evidence proves that there is a god we will believe it.

In this large universe the odds that there is a planet with intelligent life is very reasonable. In fact, there are probably more planets like earth across the universe and who knows? There's probably life forms that are as or even more intelligent than us out there.

Since there are so many billions of stars in our galaxy and there even more galaxies out there, I think the chances of other intelligent life in the universe are very good.

Since the universe is so big shouldn't there be room for the possibility of God?? And if there is a possibility shouldn't we seek after Him?

But there is ZERO evidence for the non-existence of God, either.

Many Christians (granted, not all) admit and accept that they believe in God based on faith, not on any empirical proof.

Some Atheists admit that their belief that there is no god or gods is just as much faith as the belief that there is one or more gods.

Since there is no proof either way, the only ones who are not basing their beliefs on faith are agnostics, and various others who may believe in a creator, but not a personal deity to whom we mortals owe any sort of worship or praise (Deists, for example).

If this insults you, then perhaps you have to ask yourself why you put so much faith in the non-existence of God, without any proof.

I'm going to play devil's advocate here. WHY should we seek after him? If there is a creator (which I do believe), what evidence is there to suggest that said creator wants anyone to seek after him, her, or it? What evidence is there, in fact, that such a creator is sentient?

Usugimi is correct: there is zero proof for the existence of God. That doesn't shake my faith one iota. If the lack of evidence causes you to doubt, then you need to re-read what Paul wrote about faith.

Now when did I say that? I just said I think there is a great possibility for other life out thee, do not read between the lines for a message I did not put.

Well if I was the type of Atheist that had to keep searching for reasons why I think there is no god I would guess so, but I don't, I just came to the conclusion there is no god and left it at that... anyway that is not what the thread is about. It is just some peoples assumptions about Atheist.

I asked you a question. I did not say you had already answered it.

Why we seek after Him is because His word tells us to. His word also says that it is beneficial for US to seek after Him. He wants us to seek Him for our benefit.

Jesus Christ is the evidence that God is sentient. Its all right there in His word.

Well to answer you question I do not think there is a possibility for god, but that is not because the universe is so big. If I thought there was a god I would seek him, but I don't. I will not go any farther into it because that would be going into the reason why I am an atheist, which I am not going to share in a thread. Anyway, this is not the point of the thread, this is on how people treat each other, not a debate on if there is a god or not.

>.> people this is not the point of this thread, if you want to make an argument if there is a god or not, take it to a thread it is relevant to.

Did you think I was arguing with you? I thought I was just following your own logic.
