I've seen people asking people to question them on their religious beliefs. SO GO FOR IT:) I don't have all the answers, but this could be fun. I enjoy being challenged.

Ok. Why aren't you Catholic? Nearly every non-Catholic has a reason, or two, or twenty. What's yours?

I'm not into denominations. I'm not baptist or pentecostal or anything. I'm just a Christ follower. I don't like labels. :D

Hi Gabrielle did you know that Gabrielle is both a mans name AND a womans name? Im sure you did. Lol. But I got a question first. How do I find my posts? I posted before but I dont know what any comments might be because I cant find my posts! I do know how to find my messages though. thanks.

umm, the title is "being a trend follower", I can only speak to what that says to me because I dont know what your beliefs are. Im not sure I like the Ghandi quote though, I dont know what to say about it. Is it good or bad? Hmm, maybe thats the beauty of it eh? It can be either. ok, TREND FOLLOWERS.

Everybody seems to want to speak in tongues. I think this is a trend. I dont think its biblical the way its practised at all. I think its a stupid trend. Am I bad? I believe the way its done is wrong and its faked anyhow so its really not biblical AT ALL. Now if it was a GENUINE language then it would be biblical follow. therefore its nothing but a trend.

Furthermore they also try to say there is an "angelic" language. This is laughable. But its whats being taught in church. Its not biblical and its a trend. Also they even have whats called a prayer language. All this stuff is based on flimsy scriptural evidence. I think what everybody forgets is this.

Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. ! John 4:1

Alot to say now. Notice first that there are MANY spirits. But we know Gods Spirit is ONE. I have to pull scripture to prove? No. there is only ONE Holy Spirit. BUT there is another, I call him the Great imitator. Also known as Satan. The adversary. Hes a spirit also is he not? Now watch this.

"I will ascend above the tops of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High." Isa 14:14 he is LIKE the most high. Also there is...

.
And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light. ... But I am not
surprised! Even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. ...

And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light. ... But I am not
surprised! Even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. ... 2Cor. 2:14

So is it a surprise if Satan creeps in and does a little imitation? There is so much wrong with this stuff scripturally it makes my head swim.

Anyhow, thats it. Trends. Trends I spose can be good too, but my advice would be. DO NOT mess with no spirits, but like the bible says. TEST them.

Question. WHY did Paul COMMEND the Bereans...Acts 17:11 Ok, so what say you Gabrielle? Oh and tell me how to find my posts, I might be gettin chewed out right now and not know it...thanks. *.*

Ahh ok. Makes sense i guess. Labels can be not good sometimes. But isn't technically "Christian" a label? And what about beliefs-wise?

Yes, i did know that. I <3 my name it means God is my strength. Just click your name then under statistics the option to look at yoru posts or threads you started should be there. I like the Gandhi quote because its a depiction of how we as Christians have failed, but it also shows that we must follow Christ and not Christians. About speaking in tongues you're not bad its just your opinion. From my understanding Paul commended them because they were open-minded.

I said Christ follower for that very reason. I know that question was going to be asked. Can you please elaborate on your last question. Its kind of vague.

What do you believe about speaking in tongues?

I believe that tongues was a gift before translators, but has now ceased. I will say I won't say tongues will never happen again because I don't believe in limiting God. I do know that it will always be in argument because there are good verses for both sides. I guess we'll find out in heaven.:)

Joshua 24:15 But if you refuse to serve the Lord, then choose today whom you will serve. Would you prefer the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates? Or will it be the gods of the Amorites in whose land you now live? But as for me and my family, we will serve the Lord.”
I like it cause Joshua isn't making a big deal whether the people are serving God or not, but he is saying whatever they do it doesn't matter because for him and his family they will serve the Lord. I feel its a very applicable verse because lots of times we as Christians worry about other people serving God when we just need to focus on ourselves and our family.:)

No i think they are very useful. For one knowing when Jesus is speaking is a very good tool and cross references can get people reading the Bible more.
