Sorry, but the KJV has several passages in it that have no Greek manuscript backup, because they are taken directly from the Latin Vulgate.
I love my KJV, but it is not inerrent. It is simply a translation.
I feel bad for your lack of faith in the Spirit, but I cannot look past this thread without rebuking you for your distraction by the Letter.

Also... Septuagint is what Jesus and the Apostles quoted... not Masoretic.

All worship controvertal because he has the Holy Spirit guiding him into all truth and he will tell you what God said, translating God's Word in English for you now that the Holy Spirit has chosen him to recover the Word of God which was lost due to errors in copies and cannot possibly be explained to you in English without his God gifted intellect.

All bow to Cotravertedl, the translator of the Word of God

Sorry. You can remain ignorant and go on boasting that the Holy Spirt makes you the authority on the Word of God.
Wow... Jesus says He gave His own authority to every single one He calls unto Himself. But you say otherwise? Because people disagree with you? Yikes.... :(

Again I ask you Joe, what did the KJV Bible teach you about the love and grace of Jesus Christ? (Hint: read Romans chapters 6-8 ~ I John 4: 7 & 8 ~ I Corinthians chapter 13)

Below are some of the more harmful alterations made in the book of Ecclesiastes. The reference is given first; then the reading as found in the King James Version; and last, the reading as found in the New King James Version. 1:13 sore travail; grievous task
1:14 vexation of spirit; grasping for the wind
1:16 my heart had great experience of wisdom; My heart has understood great wisdom
2:3 to give myself unto; to gratify my flesh with
2:3 acquainting; guiding
2:21 equity; skill
3:10 the travail, which God hath given; the God-given task
3:11 the world; eternity
3:18 that might manifest them; God tests them
3:18 they themselves are beasts; they themselves are like beasts
3:22 portion; heritage
4:4 right work; skillful work
5:1 Keep thy foot; Walk prudently
5:6 the angel; the messenger of God
5:8 he that is higher than the highest; high official
5:20 God answereth him; God keeps him busy
6:3 untimely birth; stillborn child
7:29 inventions; schemes
8:1 boldness; sternness
8:10 the place of the holy; the place of holiness
10:1 Dead flies cause the ointment of the apothecary to send forth a stinking savour; Dead flies putrefy the perfumer's ointment
10:10 If the iron be blunt; If the ax is dull
10:10 wisdom is profitable to direct; wisdom brings success
12:9 gave good heed; pondered
12:11 the masters of assemblies; scholars
This is only a sampling of the changes in the book, but notice what is done. Equity, which is a trait of godliness, becomes skill (2:21). The world becomes eternity (3:11). Man without God is no longer a beast but just like a beast (3:18). The clear reference to deity in Ecclesiastes 5:8 ("he that is higher than the highest") is successfully removed ("higher official"). But since success is what wisdom is supposed to bring us (10:10), this must be progress. At least God is keeping the scholars busy (5:20). Probably the most revealing of the above mentioned changes is the last one listed where "the masters of assemblies" become "scholars." According to the New King James, "the words of scholars are like well-driven nails, given by one Shepherd." The masters of assemblies are replaced by the scholars who become the source of the Shepherd's words. That is what these scholars would like us to think, but it is not true.
In conclusion, the New King James is not a revision in the vein of former revisions of the King James Version. It is instead an entirely new translation. As stated in the introduction, the purpose of this book is not to convince those who use the other versions. The purpose of this book is to expose a fallacious argument that has been circulating in fundamentalist circles for what it is: an overblown myth. That is, the myth that the New King James Version and others like it are nothing more than a continuation of revisions which have periodically been made to the King James Version since 1611. There is one problem with this theory. There are no such revisions.

This is only a few of hundreds...notice how the "sodomite" passage was changed, and isn't that convenient for modern day laws? The NIV editor who made sure such changes were added in their work of creating enough substantial changes to secure copyright for exclusive profiting was a known lesbian with full support and equal authority with the other editors on the NIV board.

I'll post more of these tomorrow since it appears most of the readers here are chicken-livered afraid of looking at the BESTSELLING BOOK referenced in the OP, written by a Godly Ph.D whose disipline and accomplishments are probably ten times more than anybody posting here....that's why the posters here (like myself) are posting here in obscurity while she is working under a Ph.D. writing bestseller books.

Careful now mate...He will lose all respect for you if you fail to worship the version at the exclusion of all the others...........He already lost respect for me because I will stand on the historicity of how the King James came about instead of reading, believeing and swallowing hook, line and sinker some MODERN best selling book........I am devastated by this.....NOT!
Haha! I don't care about respect from him, I just don't want those who are seeking or those who are new to the faith or even those who have been a Christian for awhile, but haven't read/studied much of God's Word, to be turned away by this nonsense and driven into a life of fear and doubt. Jesus had very harsh words for those who led people away from Christ.

OOOOOo, that sounds spooky. What happens with the Spirit in you disagrees with the Spirt in Contraperted and you start fighting over the real meaning of words which disagree in ancient manuscripts which all have errors in them due to human weakness and mistakes? Will the Holiest nothing win the argument, or will you who are nothing be more Holy than the translator who disagrees with you?

I see you are already more holy than all the King James translators.

All bow down to the Queen of translators who is gifted by God to give us the Word in English. Tell us God's Word in English please so we can understand.......and make sure Contaprerted agrees with you or i'lll have to think maybe He has the Holy Ghost and you got spooked by a decieving spirit.

Joe, you have posted over 300 times within only 3 or 4 threads in the last few weeks you've been a member here. All of your posts are either argumentative or baiting people to debate with you. I hope for Christ's sake you are take a closer look at your attitude toward everyone in here. You seriously need to seek God's wisdom about humility and grace.

Rules and Regulations

Rule #2. No conduct that is offensive or counterproductive to fellowship.

We like to welcome all to Christian Chat, but if anyone is not here for fellowship (or for wanting to know about Christianity), but simply for disrupting fellowship, offending people, whatever, then that person is not welcome.

No, but I have dyslexia and there are much easier translations to read and much better manuscripts available now - none of whom deny the divinity of Christ etc.

Dear Joe:

While I may agree that the KJV is the perfect Word of God, you are going about it the wrong way, my friend. Love people a little more and let off the reins a bit. Get to know people and treat them like human beings. Love and care for them before you rip off the band aid.

Remember, we are supposed to pray and do good towards our enemies.

In any event, may God bless you.
And please be well.

With loving kindness to you in Christ:

Sincerely,

~Jason.
