We studied this tonight in chat. Here are the notes.

Luke 12:1-21

Read 1-3

1. What does Jesus tell them to be on guard against? Verse 1
2. What is the yeast of the Pharisees? Verse 1
3. What does Jesus say about our sins we think no one will ever see? Verses 2-3
4. Why do you think Jesus tells them this in relation to hypocrisy?
5. How does knowing this influence how you will live?


Read 4-7

1. Who does Jesus say not to fear? Verse 4
2. Why do you think someone would fear someone ?
3. Who does Jesus say to fear? Verse 5
4. What do verses 6-7 say about God's care for us?
5. What does Jesus say not to do in verse 7?
6. Why does knowing this cause you not to fear?

Read v 8-12 (Sensitive topic warning. Wait til the end to obsess over this topic.)

1. What does Jesus say about acknowledging or not acknowledging him? Verse 8-9
2. What does it say about speaking against the son of man and blaspheming the Holy Spirit? (verse 10
3. What does Jesus say when about when they are brought before leaders for their faith? Verses 11-12

Read verses 13-21

1.What family dispute did someone bring before Jesus? Verse 13
2.What did Jesus tell them to be on guard against? Verse 15
3.What isn't life about? Verse 15
4. What point is Jesus trying to make about riches in his parable? Verses 16-21

As I understand, dosent Luke's name mean truth?

This is what I found when I googled it, but I am always interested in word and name origins, so by all means please share anything you discover in your research, thank you........jack
