Basically no one has proven that to me. Every time I ask if they are they never respond back or they tell me they have been told they have it but they take no meds for it.
no one is required to prove it to you.

and

what does not taking meds for it have to do with anything?

you can stick to your beliefs that is your choice.

However personally I find it disrespectful and harmful to the purpose of spreading the gospel to people with bipolar disorder and other mental illnesses to call it demon possession.

In addition I believe it to be unbiblical.

Yes demon possession can cause similar problems and outward symptoms. However God looks at the heart.

Most mental illness can be linked to a physical reason more than a spiritual one. To mix the two is irresponsible.

there are some perfectly "sane" people who commit murder and many other crimes that are spiritually WRONG and sinful.

Jesus refers to those who are blind who need a healer to see and those who believe they can see but still damned because their sin remains.

People who have mental and physical illness know they need a healer. Many of them pray and ask Christ to lead them. However Jesus said that it is GOD's will that is done not man's whims and people wanted to stone Him for it instead of seeing the TRUTH He spoke.

Luke 4
23 He said to them, “You will surely say this proverb to Me, ‘Physician, heal yourself! Whatever we have heard done in Capernaum,[l] do also here in Your country.’” 24 Then He said, “Assuredly, I say to you, no prophet is accepted in his own country. 25 But I tell you truly, many widows were in Israel in the days of Elijah, when the heaven was shut up three years and six months, and there was a great famine throughout all the land; 26 but to none of them was Elijah sent except to Zarephath,[m] in the region of Sidon, to a woman who was a widow. 27 And many lepers were in Israel in the time of Elisha the prophet, and none of them was cleansed except Naaman the Syrian.”
28 So all those in the synagogue, when they heard these things, were filled with wrath, 29 and rose up and thrust Him out of the city;
The promises of God are not about wealth and health in this temporal world but in the world to come.

To judge a person heart by their physical and mental state in this life is beyond foolish.

To claim to know who is Christian and who is NOT is to claim to have the ability to judge another's salvation and NO ONE has that right EXCEPT JESUS.

I agree. It doesn't say one way or another, and I haven't looked all of them up either. this is just from memory, but all who were possessed did have something physically or mentally wrong with them as far as I can remember. None were healthy that had demons, at least the ones mentioned in the bible. You're right though, could have healed them as he cast the demons out, but I think if we read over all the cases where demons were cast out, the demons causing the illness is a more accurate implication, rather than healing them as he cast them out. But I agree with you that it could go either way. That was my point on my posts. There is no way to prove, or disprove anything in this topic. It's all speculation.
that is exactly the problem. "It's all speculation."

what is the point of the speculation?

Ask yourself this was everyone who was ill in the Bible demon possessed?

What about this blind man?

John 9:1-3

9 Now as Jesus passed by, He saw a man who was blind from birth. 2 And His disciples asked Him, saying, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?”
3 Jesus answered, “Neither this man nor his parents sinned, but that the works of God should be revealed in him.
You have completely ignored Pickle's testimony about her DAUGHTER and how she has been used by God to reach people with mental illness because SHE is Christian AND Bipolar.

I dunno if you are assuming that I am defending the point of all crazy people being possessed or not, but if you read my earlier posts I think you will see that isn't the case. I already said once this topic is points because nothing can be proven or disproven. I am not saying everyone in the bible was possessed who had an ailment. I did point out though, that all who were possessed had a physical or mental problem.

To me this is an Observation. It’s nothing to get mad over and when you do it makes me think about one of the signs is getting mad, defensive, and so on. I’m allowing anyone to speak their beliefs on the subject. I have thanked people for being honest, for taking the hard questions, I have voted up people, argued with some, told people I understand this is a hard subject.
I have tried to be an adult about it. I have never told anyone they are going to hell. I have told EVERYONE they could be saved through Jesus Christ.
See after saying all of this to keep getting bashed over the head tells me this supernatural. That the devil doesn’t want this information out there.

"keep getting bashed over the head"?

feeling defensive?

no one is bashing you over the head. just stating the facts.

your comments are offensive to anyone who has worked with mentally disabled people and are not biblical.

no anger behind that statement.

why are YOU feeling defensive?

Because I'm of the Lord and I'm not trying to hurt anyone. I'm trying to point out an observation. I'm asking everyone to start paying attention. I can see you have never thought of such but you instantly tell me how wrong I am.
That’s almost RUDE in itself.

Bipolar disorder very rarely results in the kind of psychosis that article describes. You're more likely looking at drugs.

Moment, why are you so desperate to prove that people with mental disabilities are demon possessed? Do you have someone you love so much that is bi-polar and just can't accept that it could be he/she was born that way?

Your article states:

It was not immediately known what, if anything, Ciminio was under the influence of during the frightening ordeal.

I'm pointing at what the lord said the last days would be like Noah. What was going on in Noah’s day?

And I'm telling all of you it will get worse

Here are two different sentences:

He wasn't on drugs.
We don't know if he was on drugs.

The article says one. You're saying the other. Do you understand the difference?

I'm quitting this debate. So far, all i've seen from the OP is unfounded accusations built on faulty logic and poorly based 'polls' designed to support his own belief, rather than find truth. When you make solid, well thought out arguments against what he says, his responses have nothing to do with countering what you say, but rather have nothing at all to do with your solid argument, he just sidesteps it since he has no real defense. Then he tries to turn it around on your by putting some unrelated question on you to distract you from the fact that he has no comeback to what you say. Then he accuses everyone else of not thinking any of what they say through.
First he says 95% of those he asks were not Christians when they got bipolar, but then he says people won't answer him about Christians with bipolar. Which is not true, i told him about a friend of mine. So, for those reasons, i see this is a dead end conversation with someone showing no attempt to listen. So i won't waste my time speaking.

again you make an assumption that you have no facts or basis. I actually thought of it quite a bit and prayed about it. Read scripture and determined the difference between demon possession and mental illness through scripture and prayer. Rude. read over your own words and ask yourself if your replaced the word bipolar or mentally ill with your own pet sin or physical illness, how you feel about your statements.

the whole point many try to tell you but you are too self righteous to even listen to is that mental illness is PHYSICAL in nature not SPIRITUAL. Spiritual illness has other signs and symptoms that are not diagnosis by medical profession and not helped by drugs.

no i was hoping you were not defending that point. I apologize if my statements might have come off that way.

However I am glad to see that you recognize the difference between the symptoms and the various causes that may cause the same symptoms.

Perhaps we can just pray that others are able to discern the differences instead of remaining blinded by their logs....

I read your other thread. I haven't looked through the comments or anything yet. I know sometimes my replies come off as being rude, but 99% of the time that is not my intention. I think a lot of people have a hard time seeing that people are just trying to share their opinion without coming off as being rude. I wasn't mad or anything at Ariel's statement. And I wasn't trying to come off as if I was. I just didn't want people thinking I was in the lot that thinks all people with mental health problems are possessed. I have my own share of mental problems which is probably evident in some of my own threads. I'm not possessed. With her quoting me and then mentioning the story of the girl's daughter, I didn't want that particular person to read the quote and maybe not seeing my other posts to think I was condemning her daughter for having an ailment is all. If I came off as rude, my bad.

I posted on another thread when I first got to the site where people seemed to be coming off as defensive when really they weren't and I said tone of voice and body language isn't apparent online and with just words to go by, sometimes they seem much harsher than they really are. The person who reads it could already be in a bad mood and that affects their interpretation of what it written. I don't take anything offensively here because I know we are all here to debate and share our views and I hope that others I am replying to feel the same way.
