If it doesn't matter how one is water baptized why does the biblical record not reflect that? The scriptures are consistent regarding the use of Jesus' name.
do a study on the English phrase " I come in the name of " then look at the words in the Greek

is speaking of authority, Identity, and who they were representing not just any jesus but the Lord Jesus Christ who was dead but rose to life again. and you still dodged my question
I asked you this :
If Baptism in the Name of Jesus is as essential as you say the Apostles made it, why would one be filled with the Holy Spirit and not be saved?

LOL you can't paste a context, the question you failed to answer is the point. please don't dance.

I asked you this :

I am not dancing as you say. Why is it some people believe things are done with some hidden ulterior motive? Nope. Just stated the truth why the content of my post was formed the way it was.

In answer to your comment, both water and Holy Ghost baptism are required of the New Testament church as seen in the responses of Jews, Gentiles, Samaritans, and individual disciples of Ephesus.

The Jews and Gentiles received the infilling of the Holy Spirit spontaneously and were commanded to submit to water baptism in Jesus' name. And, the Samaritans who were half-Jew and half-Gentile and the disciples of Ephesus submitted to water baptism in Jesus' name first and afterward received the Holy Ghost through the laying on of hands.

The biblical record would seem to imply that there is no significance to the sequence in which one submits to water baptism and the infilling of the Holy Ghost.

There are scriptures that speak of the authority behind one's name. And there are scriptures that specify the use of the literal name is required. We see the use of the literal name of Jesus in water baptism, prayer, healing, casting out devils, etc.

How wrong can you be. Paul does not contradict Jesus.
Paul is clearly writing about the operation of the spiritual gifts in the body of Christ - 1Corinthians 14
some, not all, shall speak in an unknown tongue; some, not all, shall give interpretation; some, not all, shall give prophecy.
Some shall receive the gift of faith to exercise the gift of healing; some shall receive the gift of knowledge.
The Bible unequivocally, no let's be more forthright, Jesus unequivocally says that believers of the gospel shall speak in a new tongue as one of many signs that shall follow believers of the gospel.
Which gospel? The Catholic gospel? The Lutheran gospel? The Greek Orthodox gospel? Your gospel?
NO: none of these but the one and only gospel preached and delivered by Jesus and the Apostles - the first century church of
signs, wonders and power.
By the way a Bible obedient Pentecostal church is not a cult - shame on you.

Further as you are so imbued in truth your congregation would be operating the three voice gifts of the Holy Spirit - diversity of
tongues followed by interpretation; followed by the gifts of prophecy, at every meeting.
Then you would be taught by God directly knowledge and wisdom concerning praying in the Spirit and tongues in the life of
every believer.

honestly just give it up already

tone it down. I'm not even a cessationist and listen to you rant!

you folks have a problem with a precarious position and are desperate for everyone else to be wrong

relax. none of what has you in such a snit is salvic in nature despite you and Wans saying otherwise

By the way a Bible obedient Pentecostal church is not a cult - shame on you.
now that's childish. no one here is under your judgement and certainly not your condemnation

no no, I'm talking about scriptures that speak of the authority behind one's name, I am saying the verse you used to suggest one must be baptized in the Name of Jesus only is not what the context means. furthermore, it is not necessary for salvation because Acts 10:44-48 prove it. Because those who were filled with the Holy Spirit recorded in Acts 10:44-48 are saved. Before they were water baptized. That really does a serious blow to them who hold to "in the name of Jesus Only for salvation" doctrine

The scriptures I provided show that the people followed the instructions given by Peter during Pentecost: they repented, they got water baptized in Jesus name for the remission of their sin and received the gift of the Holy Ghost.

And yes, regardless of the sequence in which these requirements were done, the fact is they were done. Yes all were saved due to their obedience.

again you refuse to answer yes or no to those who were filled with the Holy Spirit before water baptism was saved.

This statement by Peter :

Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
was the order of methodology or even chronological. you pass up verse 21 of Acts 2 and build teaching around verse 38. Before Peter said verse 38 he said this in verse 21 :

"21 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved. "

call on HIM in repentance.

Yes cessationists do this to themselves.
Sad really.
Truth is we all deceive to ourselves, because of our our insecurities and a myriad other reasons... when you realize is the moment when you can learn to be set free and come to a deeper insight about yourself and how you relate to God

call on HIM in repentance.
Paul puts it this way in Romans 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
[14] How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?

In preaching Jesus, water baptism was preached.

We can be filled with the Holy Ghost before or after water baptism but never before repentance.

Note that Jesus told Nicodemus that to be Born again was of WATER AND SPIRIT.
In fact, it is so important, that is why Peter commanded them to be baptized, so to complete the new birth...

Acts 10:48 And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days.

Which moves us to something interesting, Father, Son, Holy Ghost are not even NAMES. Everywhere in the Word of God where there is an actual baptism taking place, it is in Jesus NAME (Matthew 28:19 is not an actual baptism).

I guess it can be summed up like this, "What is the name of your dad?"

-Thank you.

do we?

His eyes as a flame of fire, and on His head many crowns:
and He had a name written, that no man knew but Himself.

i think more accurately, in preaching Jesus the Christ, the gospel of His work and His person is preached. water immersion is instructed after preaching and performed after preaching, hearing, believing and calling. and everyone who calls on Him will be saved!

Lets turn to the book of Acts for a moment...

Acts 8:26 And the angel of the Lord spake unto Philip, saying, Arise, and go toward the south unto the way that goeth down from Jerusalem unto Gaza, which is desert.
[27] And he arose and went: and, behold, a man of Ethiopia, an eunuch of great authority under Candace queen of the Ethiopians, who had the charge of all her treasure, and had come to Jerusalem for to worship,
[30] And Philip ran thither to him, and heard him read the prophet Esaias, and said, Understandest thou what thou readest?
[31] And he said, How can I, except some man should guide me? And he desired Philip that he would come up and sit with him.
[32] The place of the scripture which he read was this, He was led as a sheep to the slaughter; and like a lamb dumb before his shearer, so opened he not his mouth:
[33] In his humiliation his judgment was taken away: and who shall declare his generation? for his life is taken from the earth.
[34] And the eunuch answered Philip, and said, I pray thee, of whom speaketh the prophet this? of himself, or of some other man?

Now this is where I'm going with this...

Acts 8:35 Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same scripture, and preached unto him Jesus.
[36] And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized?

In the PREACHING of JESUS we see that Water Baptism was preached, which is in accordance with Peter's reply in Acts 2:38. And preaching water baptism is the burial with Christ...

Romans 6:3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?
[4] Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

-Thank you.

Wrong. Oh so wrong.
Get thee to a proper Pentecostal church …
And let the side show begin?

Step right up hurry, hurry get slain in the Spirit fall backward (not forward) as evidence to confirm being slain in the Spirit. Or simply walk by faith and believe God has healed our spirit.

No outward sign. The sign of faith.. the sign of spiritual unseen gifts.

A great video that exposes the stupidity. Absolutely hilarious, but very sad and disturbing.
