I just want to say something on "psychological disorders" chemical imbalance of the brain, medical talk of the fruit of what is going on but there is a root to it. I used to ask God what gives, Blessed me to spend time with a psychiatric lecturer of a university in conversation in depth about "chemical inbalances"(do you think it was a by chance meeting or a answer to prayer) and then said to her you do know it's more spiritual than just psychological. She was shocked only because she said she would loose her job if she lectured that truth, and she wasn't even a Christian to start with. Of course that changed the subject to Christ Jesus and the cross. So I got my answer and Jesus got His woohoo win/win

Psychiatric profession started with Dr Mesmer, (hence we use the word mesmerize) who was trouble by people of "psychological disorders" because back then it had always been called demonically oppressed or possession. He introduce hypnosis as a way to cure it (Mesmer - mesmerize)

Anyway God bless, we all see certain things differently

Lobotomy yes. I'm sure they would have used it on the man who "legion" or at least prescribed medication to him. Don't doubt the power of God. The man who's son they couldn't cast a demon out Jesus asked the father do you believe?? I love his response, I believe help me with my unbelief. Who do you think got first Jesus attention, the boy or the father?? Jesus dealt with the unbelief first.

Blessings , Jesus said "believe"

Jer 32:27 my favorite verse ot

Consumed if God is the God (Lord) of my flesh, where is HE? Is He not IN THIS FLESH THEN or in control of this flesh? It is not to hard for Him to come and ABIDE IN MY FLESH! Jesus said... 1 John 14:23... Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.

they can 't but often people have faith in the wrong things: money, themselves, false Christ who is not their Lord and savior

I was listening to this sermon by Paris Reidheed and he talked about 5 different types of Christ you see people worshipping.

you have the "forgiving" Christ who forgives you everything and took the rap for you and that is why people worship to be forgiven

you have the ultaritarian Christ who is great help to get you what you want, you pray and like magic you get it.

you have the status giving Christ who talks about great fellowship and can lead into sociopathic christians who want to cruxify the pastor because they think their position is being threatened. anything that builds them up in others eyes is good, anything that doesn't must be from Satan.

you have the emotion satisfying christ who makes you feel good, who lets you be entertained and its all about you and how you feel.

then we have the true Biblical Christ who is soveriegn and Lord. King of a true believers heart who picks up that sinner from the depths of brokenness. washes clean the numerous sins and show them mercy and grace and the person submits their WHOLE life to HIm and live daily to walk in His ways and His presence. who has given control of their life to their Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and know in their hearts that a relationship with Jesus transcends all human relationship and those are the believers that God builds His church within. Yes there is forgiveness, yes prayers are answered, yes there is fellowship, yes the sense of peace and love surpass all understanding but that is not the foundation of faith but the Jesus Christ as LORD and Savior of your life. that should be the solid rock your faith is built upon. the rest is shifting sand.

Christian definitely can be possessed by demons! The fact that a Christian may not be with Christ. The nature of sin and the flesh still remains in us even after we have received a new birth! The Devils controlled the flesh of believers, although this may not be noticeable. Important practical life with Christ in the Spirit, while the name itself being a Christian does not deter evil spirits.

ok i guess we have a problem here in that we are giving a one fits all for each situation.. We are made up of body mind (emotions, flesh )and spirit, some things are purely phsycological and some are purley spiritual and some could be partly both or even phsyical ... its unwise to discount either , i for sure like someone said earlier would not look for a demon round every corner, but delvierance from demonic strongholds even amongst christians has been proved to be real , my mom nearly was nearly killed because a pastor in my church told her partner at the time that chrisitans cannot have problems caused by the demonic, and he never got any healing or deliverance , she actually saw it his face and hair change, when he was beeting her and nearly pushed her down the stairs , now my mom is not one for drama or to lie about something like that...So i would say pray get with God on each situation.. A friend who i know is absulutly sure her schitzophrenia was parly demonic but is also on meds too it is complicated ...

You're right, we shouldn't be looking for a demon around every corner, but they are out there. Schizophrenia/Bipolar and other "psychological disorders" are demonic in nature. Homosexuality can also be initiated by demons, in the sense that they can give you pleasures or temptations or lies saying that is your nature.
i think you need to be carefull when generaling , especuially when we are made up of the phsyical, emotional and spirit regardng phsycologial disorders, which could be either , and especially when you know nothign about the persons, social family phsyical or spiritual background.. Many things can trigger psycological disorders and depresion...

How interesting that someone would say certain psychological disorders are demonic in nature.

Luckily myself and I am sure several others on this forum are actuall somewhat educated in certain disorders to know the scientific explanation of things like bi polar and schizophernia.

To me, a demonic possession would be considered a supernatural experience that could not be explained by science. SCIENCE, can easily explain depression and psychosis, and liiving with someone that suffered this disorder and knowing they were a Godly person I highly doubt it has to do with anything demonic.

Psychosis may "control" your emotional, physical, sexual, and mental ability, but it cannot control your spirit and your heart.

So, please...until you actually KNOW what bi polar and schizophrenia is don't put it in a category like you did.

Bi polar and schizoprenia is linked to a chemical imbalance in the brain. Look up SERETONIN. It is called the "happy hormone" and has alot to do with a persons wellbeing, and when someone is lacking this chemical it can cause depression and other effects.

i agree i dont think we should automatically think demonic posestion i get severe depression and mood swings similar to bipolar that doesnt aitomatically make me demon posessed, , but i dont beleive you can discount it either along with the need for counseling emotional healing , when we are made up of body mnd and spirit..like i mentioned a little bit earlier its not a one fits all when we are all different

the word possesed means "owned". The christian can never be owned by the devil. Perhaps oppressed but never possed/owned. LIke when someone posseses a car it is his car. No one else owns it.

The devil can make life difficult and oppress us but never posses.

As for bipolar people they have a difficult task ahead of them to adhere to the commandments of Jesus. Their challenge is greater than the ones who need no doctor. But Jesus can bring grace and healing so that the bipolar person no loneger drinks or is aggressive or sins in other ways. Medication also helps the biploar person not be as moody but on an even path.
i think when it comes to owned i would say not totally owned , but having a stronghold in a certain area, like lust, pornography, alcohol, anger , this could be emotional or spiritual
