@UnderGrace

Definition of sanctification
1: an act of sanctifying
2a : the state of being sanctified
b : the state of growing in divine grace as a result of Christian commitment after baptism or conversion

Both #1 n #3 use "act" and "growing"...i used the word "process"....

We are mostly all endowed with certan spiritual gifts, especially after recieving the Holy Spirit they are not all the same. You know the scriptures well enough. Some people never get healed of anything, that dosn't make them unsaved.
come on I have not known anyone who was saved not to have a life changing experience . NOR after being saved would anyone biblically sound teach them they are still what they were saved from in context to being gay.

No you say..im a "recovering alcoholic"..

Oh, It's a dialectic problem I see. I'd rather hear I'm a sinner saved by grace but that's not the way I was trained to talk.
I wonder if you would concider Jesus having the same issue ? due to He said in the orignial Greek reads like this from John 14:6

" I am the only way, the Only truth, and the Only life".

Can one be recovering Christ is not involved? So you validate the 12-step program as a means of salvation.

I see such hostility when this is brought up. I cannot stress how important it is that we show love and kindness to all. As for what you asked, can you be homosexual and be Christian? No. But can you be straight or heterosexual and be Christian? No. If your sexuality is a foundation of your identity and rules over our relationship with Christ Jesus, then we aren't christians but religious hypocrites, and deserve death. But His love never fails us. Sexuality is a societal construct, a man-made label of lust and unbridled emotions, making it seem okay to give into feelings, and what our flesh desires. As new creations in Christ Jesus, we must look towards the one who saved our very souls. So to rewrite your question, is our sexuality going to affect our relationship with God? Yes, especially if you hold it as a part of your identity. You are a beautiful creation, full of life and spirit and personality, with hopes, dreams, passions, things that only you have, that make you an individual. I must warn you and say that if you choose to make sex and lust a lifestyle, that it will kill you. I've lived it. It will destroy you from the inside out. We each have our own personal battles to face. Let our battles be won in Jesus name, becoming a part of our testimonies. Let your our identity be in Christ Jesus, the cornerstone of which all our faith, love, and hope comes from. God bless, I hope this helps

you will not be here for much longer. I see you have nothing to add but insults . I do believe in prayer sorry that offends you. Nor do I have magically method to make them go away. I also testify to them from the point of what God has set me free from. The God I serve is no respecter of persons HE wants to save all. And the Power of Christ sets people free everyday. And I thank God for Him setting me free :)
Dont hate on me bevause you dont like what i say and obviously other people HAVE agreed with me so they must appreciate my imput even if you dont

Btw..your "duh" amd other imsulting implications havent gone un noticed either

Granted but the life changing experience dosn't happen overnight and people don't change the way they speak overnight either. I takes practice not to utter a foul word when they stub their toe and I suppose it takes practice not to become aroused when they see someone that appears suductively attractive too. When I worked at the wedding chapel women used to come in braless with see through blouses. It took practice just to look them in the eyes instead of at their breasts.

9 Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, 10 nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. 11 And such were some of you. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.

12 “All things are lawful for me,” but not all things are helpful. “All things are lawful for me,” but I will not be dominated by anything. 13 “Food is meant for the stomach and the stomach for food”—and God will destroy both one and the other. The body is not meant for sexual immorality, but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body.

14 And God raised the Lord and will also raise us up by his power. 15 Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ? Shall I then take the members of Christ and make them members of a prostitute? Never! 16 Or do you not know that he who is joined[d] to a prostitute becomes one body with her? For, as it is written, “The two will become one flesh.”

17 But he who is joined to the Lord becomes one spirit with him. 18 Flee from sexual immorality. Every other sin a person commits is outside the body, but the sexually immoral person sins against his own body. 19 Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, 20 for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.

reading some of the posts, I think of that verse 'as a man thinketh, so is he' no wonder we are told to renew our minds and see ourselves as God sees us

what you think and how you see yourself will determine how you act and really, all aspects of your life

we are supposed to be overcomers in Christ

please grasp at false narrative, no one hates you . I adamantly stand against one should identify with past sin after being saved. By that line of thinking the Blind man Jesus healed should still say he is blind. LOL why even say you are saved if you place superiority on your sin over the Supremacy of Christ. LOL

then you could not have understood what he said because it applies all the way around. he was not taking sides and neither am I

I simply agree with what scripture states regarding who we were and who we are

I agree with you calibob :) never said that was not the case. Never said you can lose salvation, never said we do not sin. I said there is a false teaching that teaches you identify with the sin that held you captive over Christ setting you free. That is a liberal theoglogy, which looks to make social sins norms in the church. That is why they attack as it was said “Conservative” Church” Christians.

Step 1] We admitted we we were powerless over alcohol-that our lives had become unmanageable.

Step 2] Came to believe that a power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity

Step 3] Made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of God...

No, the 12 steps are not the means of salvation, Jesus is but the first 3 steps cause many to seek God, find Jesus and get saved. The dialectic way of identifying ones self as an Alcoholic serves 3 purposes. 1] It forces one to get out of the denial of their problem.
2] It gives the newcomer a sense of safety and anonymity. 3] I gives each member an identity that says "I belong here."

Josh it is not hostility call it passion for the truth. When liberal theology teaches that you are a “gay Christian” over I have be saved and set free from the sin of homosexuality which of the two speaks Biblically? If the God who saved us will not remember our sin anymore because of Christ why would I identify with that sin, put whatever sin you like to use. Many have used human reasoning and worldly definitions of the sin as a race of people or the something as an ethnicity.

metamorphosis transformation

neurological issues as well

You can be gay and a Christian, as long as you don't practice Sodomy

Really? What Biblical precedence does one use to establish these statements ?

And which the second one I agree with how does one come to reality if they are not told the truth?
