I agree with you calibob never said that was not the case. Never said you can lose salvation, never said we do not sin. I said there is a false teaching that teaches you identify with the sin that held you captive over Christ setting you free. That is a liberal theoglogy, which looks to make social sins norms in the church. That is why they attack as it was said “Conservative” Church” Christians.

No, the 12 steps are not the means of salvation, Jesus is but the first 3 steps cause many to seek God, find Jesus and get saved. The dialectic way of identifying ones self as an Alcoholic serves 3 purposes. 1] It forces one to get out of the denial of their problem.
2] It gives the newcomer a sense of safety and anonymity. 3] I gives each member an identity that says "I belong here."

the Holy Spirit is the one who convicts of sin. make the decision without the gospel message is not going to work . the problem with AA is you will never be free from the addiction you have to identify with the addiction Christ ability to fully set you free from an addiction cannot happen. it is your Identity it nothing but a labor of the flesh where at anytime you can crash back into the very addiction you are not choosing to do now. If that is the idea of freedom given me bondage and chains.

Josh it is not hostility call it passion for the truth. When liberal theology teaches that you are a “gay Christian” over I have be saved and set free from the sin of homosexuality which of the two speaks Biblically? If the God who saved us will not remember our sin anymore because of Christ why would I identify with that sin, put whatever sin you like to use. Many have used human reasoning and worldly definitions of the sin as a race of people or the something as an ethnicity.

Sure sin is sin, but the fact that various levels of punishment was meeted out under the law and the fact that the word "abomination" was applied to the sin of homosexuality as opposed to other sexual sins proves that it is a more grieveous sin in the eyes of God and man.....which city did God burn to the ground due to adultry? Yes, it's flawed but it causes people to seek what they can't find within them. How can a person that has halucinations when trying to get sober trust himself or believe they hear the voice of god when their own demons are screaming for them to kill themselves?

A.A. is not of god nor should it replace church. It has no power and many within it follow it like a false religion but Isaiah 55; 10 & 11 says [I paraphrase] the word of the lord does not come back empty. If the the program causes someone to seek the lord and read the bible and get saved, well praise the lord and if they don't get saved but they get better it's still better for society.

Both ways. Someone who is narcisitic may look at them selves as being greater than they are while some one that suffers from depression will see the opposite. The signature goes with the avitar of the sandpiper seeing its own reflection while we see one that is clearly different.
