Yes, Jesus will return, at the last day. Jesus is ruling now, does a king have all authority? Jesus has it.
I did not ask you this.

I ask you if things told us in the OT concerning his reign is occurring today?

Of course, the answer would be no.

Yes, Jesus Christ could rule from the sapce shuttle if He cooses to, but scripture reveals He returns to earth and rules from the earth.

Yes, I do.

But I also trust what God told us in the OT about his actual reign on earth. Do you trust God that what he said will happen?
Jesus words trump all of the O.T. Why do you think most Jews rejected Jesus? They didn't like what he said.

Read Matt ch 5-7, "but I SAY".

I wish people would understand that the direct words and actions of the One we call Jesus Christ is what divides what we use and what we should throw away in all of the bible. It is HIS WORDS that shall stand and not Moses or any other.

On the testimony of two or three witnesses a sinner is put to death under Moses. This is what is done every day here on CC. But Jesus said HE WHO IS WITHOUT SIN, LET HIM CAST THE FIRST STONE.

Did He?

"You have heard it said, but I say..." Jesus was making some additions, making some of the laws tougher. Lots of people didn't like that.

BTW, Jesus said the kingdom was taken AWAY from the Jews, the O.T. prophets didn't know this because it hadn't happened yet. . Jesus did so, because so few believed his teachings.

Matt 21:43, "Therefore I tell you, the kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to a people producing its fruits."________KJV says "new nation"

See post #25, the kingdom was taken away from the Jews.
What does this have to do with Christ ruling in the way the OT prophets said he would?

EG,
leave this troll alone, he states in a different thread all the Bible is allegory....seems to me he is a secular humanist/atheist trying to intentionally stir it up.

There are zoo signs that come in handy for posters like this, they say: do not feed the animals.

I feel the need to quote C.S. Lewis here.

[h=1]“Can a mortal ask questions which God finds unanswerable? Quite easily, I should think. All nonsense questions are unanswerable. How many hours are in a mile? Is yellow square or round? Probably half the questions we ask - half our great theological and metaphysical problems - are like that.”[/h]

Jesus owns the garden. The enemy planted weeds but Jesus will take out the weeds and cast the enemy out.

Yes and the angels are the reapers and this comes at the end of the age...soon that is!
Interesting that when Jesus gives the Parable and then the explanation that He begins to deal with the tares first before he gathers the wheat into his barn!

How about giving the people on this thread a clue about what the O.T. prophets said about this "reign" on earth?

Psalm 110:1, Luke 20:43 "The Lord said to my Lord, Sit at my right hand, UNTIL I make your enemies your footstool."

Jesus is Lord and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty at this time, and the Father has given all things into his hands. So yes Jesus reigns in heaven, but the earth has not been reconciled to his rule completely yet, as evil and hatred still has dominion here, and The Lord Jesus told us to pray: Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done ON EARTH as it is in heaven.

What the OP is saying is true, Jesus is reigning in heaven and is waiting for his Father to make his enemies his footstool, Earth is the footstool of God and he is still constructing his footstool as he wills. This age is not over yet as is quite evident by observing the world. I believe God is close to finishing his work of gathering all his enemies together for the big showdown and all hell will break loose, but be not afraid because all heaven is coming to the rescue.
Praise be to God the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, to Him be the glory forever. Amen.

I KNEW that Paul didn't write Hebrews, so this is the guy that wrote it? He was a cronie of Paul, too then.

Then the "tares" had better repent. Tares are weeds that ind of look like the real grain. The pretenders of followers of Jesus, are the tares. They call Jesus Lord, but follow someone else-Satan. Satan cares little who they follow, as long as it is not Jesus teachings/words.

One of the promises to David is that his throne will last forever. Obviously it didn't which means it will have to somewhere in the future. It also says that Jesus (not by name, but it's clear its talking about Christ) will rule on the throne. That is why Christ must rule on Earth in Jerusalem. Along with many other places.
