"And another angel came and stood at the altar, having a golden censer; and there was given unto him much incense, that he should offer it with the prayers of all saints upon the golden altar which was before the throne. And the smoke of the incense, which came with the prayers of the saints, ascended up before God out of the angel's hand" (Rev. 8.3,4).
Even if you take this passage literally, it would imply that only one angel was offering the prayers of the saints to God.

"Behold a ladder set up on the earth, and the top of it reached to heaven: and behold the angels of God ascending and descending on it" (Gen. 28.12) taking prayers up to heaven. and reporting to God
This passage doesn't say the angels were taking the prayers up to heaven.

When we pray in our hearts without saying a word how does our prays reach to God ?
God is omniscient (all-knowing). But believers also have God living within them.

I think the burden of proof lies on those who claim that Satan can read thoughts because that basically means he is able to do something that the bible reserves specifically for God. Satan only has the power that God gives to him.
Where does the Bible reserve this for God alone?

It sure seems to me like demons can get into someones head... demon possession.

Do you think that there are record of what we say in heaven ?
Matthew 12
34 O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.
35 A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.

36 But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.
37 For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.

God hears our prayers. Why on earth would you think God needs angels to carry our prayers? Even that verse in Rev. doesn't say the angels carried the prayers, but that the smoke of the incense was carried by them. By your definition, the prayers of God's people won't reach him till the very end of the world, when the angels bring it. How foolish! You are pulling verses out of context and ignoring other verses in Revelation.

"And when he had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each holding a harp, and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints." Rev. 5:8

God already had all the prayers in golden bowls, the angels just released them. But God heard them the minute they were prayed.

"Then he said to me, “Fear not, Daniel, for from the first day that you set your heart to understand and humbled yourself before your God, your words have been heard, and I have come because of your words. [SUP]13 [/SUP]The prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me twenty-one days, but Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, for I was left there with the kings of Persia," Dan. 10:10-13

Angels, like demons are not omnipresent nor omniscient nor omnipotent. They are not given the power to hear our thoughts. Only God is sovereign and knows our thoughts.

My personal experience and thought is that even Satan cannot hear the thoughts of even non-believers. (Of course, those who have been "possessed" might disagree with that!)

Angels report to God about what is going on the earth

2 peter 2
9 The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished:
10 But chiefly them that walk after the flesh in the lust of uncleanness, and despise government. Presumptuous are they, selfwilled, they are not afraid to speak evil of dignities.
11 Whereas angels, which are greater in power and might, bring not railing accusation against them before the Lord.

GENESIS 18

20 And the Lord said, Because the cry of Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and because their sin is very grievous;
21 I will go down now, and see whether they have done altogether according to the cry of it, which is come unto me; and if not, I will know.

Can Satan Read our Mind and hearts ?
Based from the scripture Jeremiah 17:9-10"The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?I the LORD search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings. Our God is the one who searches even the innermost of our hearts.Godbless!.

Not if the minds are holy and the hearts are of the "flesh hearts" God gives here.... Satan can only read the minds of the lost and evil people. When God saves them they are KEPT FROM SATAN and HE CAN TOUCHETH THEM NOT...

Here is Scripture...

1 John 5:18... We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not.

Ezek 36:26 and 27... A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.
:27 And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.

If there be in the land famine, if there be pestilence, blasting, mildew, locust, or if there be caterpiller; if their enemy besiege them in the land of their cities; whatsoever plague, whatsoever sickness there be;

38 What prayer and supplication soever be made by any man, or by all thy people Israel, which shall know every man the plague of his own heart, and spread forth his hands toward this house:
39 Then hear thou in heaven thy dwelling place, and forgive, and do, and give to every man according to his ways, whose heart thou knowest; (for thou, even thou only, knowest the hearts of all the children of men;)

So my question is how is Satan able to tempt us with the things we like? If u don't like pie...people who know u won't offer u pie. Not try a start nothing but I notice Satan temps me with things I enjoyed to do and if it wasn't a sin I'm sure I'd be doing it. How does he know what we like? I believe just as we can yield to God our members (mind) to him, then we can also yield our members to Satan. We probably don't realize were doing it Cuz he just has people caught up in his lust.
Luke 4:13When the devil had finished all this tempting, he left him until an opportune time.

Hebrews 4:15
For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin.

Matthew 16:23
Jesus turned and said to Peter, “Get behind me, Satan! You are a stumbling block to me; you do not have in mind the concerns of God, but merely human concerns.”

Satan keep on trying until he find our weakness. The spirits that were in the pigs didn't know what Jesus was here for. They'd thought that judgement day has came early, but Jesus had demonstrated what going to happen to them on that day. But satan has found out and was trying to prevent Jesus from drinking from the cup by getting Him attached to the world so that He will leave it the condition it is in. And so by doing that will make God into a liar when He had told Adam if they eat from the tree, they'll surely die. And surely we will die, but we will also be resurrected but into these new bodies that can't be tempted.

Matthew 8:29
“What do you want with us, Son of God?” they shouted. “Have you come here to torture us before the appointed time?"

Matthew 8:32
He said to them, “Go!” So they came out and went into the pigs, and the whole herd rushed down the steep bank into the lake and died in the water.

Revelation 20:10
And the devil, who deceived them, was thrown into the lake of burning sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet had been thrown. They will be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

Revelation 2:11
Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches. The one who is victorious will not be hurt at all by the second death.

i don't think satan can read hearts and minds of believers, if he could he would be reading that he is wasting his time, since the mind and heart of a believer belong to God. i do think satan is listening to every word we say, i think he uses our words against us, if what we say can't be used against us then he will twist what we say, or put words in our mouth that is the complete opposite of what we say. so be careful what you say, satan is listening, waiting to use your words against you. satan even tried using Jesus own Word against Jesus, but Jesus knew what words, to use to clear things up, since Jesus is the author of the Word. We can do the same being readers and hearers of the word.

Can Satan Read our Mind and hearts ?
Does Satan know our thoughts? I am not aware of any passage of Scripture which suggests that Satan has power to read a person’s mind. To know the thoughts of anyone is clearly a divine prerogative. See Luke 5:22; 6:8; 9:47; I Corinthians 3:20. In spite of this fact, there is one thing that Satan and his evil angels can do. They are expert at interpreting one’s body language. They can also be aware of much of our personal history and our weaknesses, which they can play on to our discomfort. But they still will not gain the victory if one is keenly aware of the subtle tactics that Satan and his evil spirits utilize. The apostle Paul gave the Christian some excellent advice on conducting ourselves triumphantly against the evil principalities and powers. Read Ephesians 6:11-18. There is not need to be afraid of Satan and his angels when one knows that the name and authority of Christ can always be called on to help us in times of need.

No Satan can not read our hearts or minds. He whispers lies and tries to influence us but what he knows is from watching our external actions and words.

How much can a detective learn about a person and what they will probably do in a situation by watching them day and night 24/7?

Can that detective read that person's thoughts or heart? no.

Can that detective make a prediction of what that person might be tempted to sin with? definitely.

Satan and his demons are like stalkers. They are NOT mind readers.

However people do have conversations with them in the spirit realm which many mistaken as being inside their head or in their dreams not realizing the distinction between their own mind and the realm of the spirit.

God's angels also instruct us in His ways and His laws both when we are awake and when we sleep. God sent His Holy Spirit to remind us to love one another, to be just, to feed the hungry, care for the poor and the orphaned, to have compassion upon the grieving widows.

You will find verses about God searching the hearts and minds of His people.

Perhaps Satan searches the hearts and minds of his children? However, I highly doubt it.

Satan is more like a dictator ordering people to believe and act according to HIS wishes and terrorizing and punishing those who do not listen to him. He is like a slave master who beats those enslaved to him. He does not care to search hearts or minds but wishes to twists words and actions to be a perversion of God's will. He is the child abuser, he is the murderer, liar and thief.

However Jesus came to set us free. He broke the chains of sin and guilt that Satan tries to enslave us with. He gave us His Holy Spirit and allows us to pray to God and call Him Abba, Father.

So in the end who cares if Satan can read our thoughts or hearts if both is filled with God's love and His will. If we pray continously, if we strive to always walk with His Holy Spirit and display the fruits thereof?

So let us as children of God show His love in our thoughts, in our hearts, in our actions. Let us remember to show love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, gentleness and self control in all that we do today and remember not only to forgive others of their mistakes but to forgive ourselves as well. Let us trust in God and not worry about Satan, because if we stand in God's promises, then nothing that old serpent can do can harm our hearts or souls.

God bless and keep all my brothers and sisters in Christ.

Can demons prophesy things that come to past how is that possible some Phycics, obeah people etc
I remember hearing this statement as a young believer and have pondered it from time to time. It has to do with deception through perception that involves counterfeits. The premise is that the devil could inflict someone with a serious affliction through a demonic possession of an unclean spirit and then that affliction goes away when the demon leaves the body. It appears that the person was delivered and even healed of the affliction while others make the claim of God's healing. The scriptures illustrates how this can happen in (Luke 11:19-26).

19 And if I by Beelzebub cast out devils, by whom do your sons cast them out? therefore shall they be your judges.
20 But if I with the finger of God cast out devils, no doubt the kingdom of God is come upon you.
21 When a strong man armed keepeth his palace, his goods are in peace:
22 But when a stronger than he shall come upon him, and overcome him, he taketh from him all his armour wherein he trusted, and divideth his spoils.
23 He that is not with me is against me: and he that gathereth not with me scattereth.
24 When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest; and finding none, he saith, I will return unto my house whence I came out.
25 And when he cometh, he findeth it swept and garnished.
26 Then goeth he, and taketh to him seven other spirits more wicked than himself; and they enter in, and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first.

Amplified

19 Now if I expel demons with the help of and by Beelzebub, with whose help andby whom do your sons drive them out? Therefore they shall be your judges.
20 But if I drive out the demons by the finger of God, then the kingdom of God has [already] come upon you.
21 When the strong man, fully armed, from his courtyard, guards his own dwelling, his belongings are undisturbed [his property is at peace and is secure].
22 But when one stronger than he attacks him and conquers him, he robs him of his whole armor on which he had relied and divides up and distributes all his goods as plunder (spoil).
23 He who is not with Me [siding and believing with Me] is against Me, and he who does not gather with Me [engage in My interest], scatters.
24 When the unclean spirit has gone out of a person (not cast or driven out), it roams through waterless places in search [of a place] of rest (release, refreshment, ease); and finding none it says, I will go back to my house from which I came (freedom to come and go).
25 And when it arrives, it finds [the place] swept and put in order and furnished and decorated (these furnishings and decorations of the soul are not from the word or the Spirit).
26 And it goes and brings other spirits, seven [of them], more evil than itself, and they enter in, settle down, and dwell there; and the last state of that person is worse than the first.

Can Satan Read our Mind and hearts ?
To the OP

Ezekiel 28:13 (KJV)

[SUP]13 [/SUP]Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created.

Before describing the attributes of our adversary I MUST clarify that our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ (Yeshua Messiah) has all power. As you read the following, please keep this in mind, for it will be your comfort, and give you peace of mind. (Matthew 28:18-20)

Attributes of Azazel (Satan/Lucifer) how he uses his power after being cast out of heaven.

1.Sadius-Had the power (emphasize HAD) to maintain God’s creation but not to change the principles of the established cycles of perfection. (Ephesians 6:12)

2.Topaz-curiosity i.e. the instigation of evolution, extra terrestrial space ships, mysticism, UFOs and etc.
(Ephesians 4:14, 2 Peter 2:16)

3.Diamond-Repeats God’s Word in order to entice a person into disobedience.
(2 Corinthians 11:14-15, Luke 4:2-13)

4.Beryl-The power to interfere with a believers mission.
(1 Thessalonians 2:18)

5.Onyx-the understanding of the creation of the physical/natural in detail. If the law isn’t seen spiritually it is of no use.
(Matthew 16:2-4, Galatians 3:19, John 5:44-47, John 8:42-45)

6.Jasper-the power to entice with fleshly attractiveness.
(1 John 2:16-17)

7.Sapphire-the capability to instigate a desire, and planning in detail how to achieve it through manipulation.
(Isaiah 32:6-7) Churl-KJV-that act of withholding information. Our administration in Washington. This is serious and blatant to the true believer in Messiah Yeshua

8.Emerald-the capability to readjust (temporarily) the balance of the universe
(Revelation 13:6-14)

9.Carbuncle-has complete understanding of the 5 senses of the human being henceforth altering perceptions of our natural world by instructing in a distorted manner, defining those distortions as common sense decisions.
(Matthew 24:24)

Keeping in mind Matthew 28:18-20, Our Savior overrides these powers of evil for those that pursue His salvation in fear, prayer, and loving Him with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength. There are 3 stones belonging to our Savior that Azazel does NOT have.

10. Ligure- The power to redeem (Romans 3:21-26)

11. Agate- The power to separate in every detail (Hebrews 4:9-14)

12. Amethyst- The power to fulfill and lead (Matthew 5:17)

Loud and clear is our message to the world until we die (Joshua 24:15 and 16)

Yes. Satan, or, his demons, can go inside of someone, possess them. But, they ONLY take over their BODY, not their mind. Remember, our hearts are vil ALL on their own, so are our minds, absent of Christ in them, and Scripture DOES say, we have 'the mind of Christ.' :)

HOWEVER, Satan is still ONLY operating under the power that God has given him, and, God has given Satan's demons.

And, that power WILL never include reading the thoughts of a man. THAT power of possession in a person, with a demon inside them, IS only going to be with the POWER to MAKE them do things that their HARDENED heart wants to do. Satan ENTERS those who DABBLE with oiji boards and demonic movies and things of the dark arts.

Satan only moves a person in their soul, based on what that person has decided to do that is ALREADY contrary to God's plan for their life and that person IS having chosen to be POSSESSED even by The Devil.

But, can Satan read that person's thoughts? NO ! NEVER ! Satan's power is ONLY in what God allows and He allows us to HARDEN our hearts against Him, to choose to NOT be following Him, like Pharoah CHOSE to do, to continue to KEEP the Israelites against God's complete desire saying again and again, 'LET me people go!.'

Where does the Bible reserve this for God alone?

It sure seems to me like demons can get into someones head... demon possession.
THEY CAN. God allows demons in, elTee, but, past that point, no, God does not allow demons to read our minds, they simple REACT to what actoins we DO/choose. That's the same way as Satan, that snake reacts to our OWN decisions in life, like Eve, she CHOSE to go to the tree that God said not to go to. Satan then PLAYED off Eve's own decision to go the wrong way in life. :(

Note: Since we are on this topic, those who do feel possesed can go to 1 John 4 and realize that '"in the name of Jesus" they can 'test the spirits' to see if they believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and if they say no, then you are to rEBUKE them ^^^^ in His name :)

I see a lot of people saying the same things over and over. You are all trying to describe how the Devil deceives people, but you are not giving a verse that limits Satan to not being able to read thoughts.

If he can inject thoughts, "harden hearts", and deceive the mind, then it seems plain that he can communicate in thought.
I have heard several people say that it is a one-way communication. That sounds wonderful, but where did you get that idea from? It is not in the Bible, so why did you have to make it up?

All I am looking for is a verse that either says only God can hear thoughts, or that Satan can't.

I am pretty sure this is a fictitious doctrine.

[h=3]John 13[/h]King James Version (KJV)

13 Now before the feast of the passover, when Jesus knew that his hour was come that he should depart out of this world unto the Father, having loved his own which were in the world, he loved them unto the end.
[SUP]2 [/SUP]And supper being ended, the devil having now put into the heart of Judas Iscariot, Simon's son, to betray him;
