Jer 3:16 And it shall come to pass, when ye be multiplied and increased in the land, in those days, saith the LORD, they shall say no more, The ark of the covenant of the LORD: neither shall it come to mind: neither shall they remember it; neither shall they visit it; neither shall that be done any more.

The above is about the old covenant no longer being invoked or followed.

No marriage. No need. Most couples can’t even stay together for ten years, try eternity. No thanks.
When you marry you are considered dead in my belief.

& he said we wouldn't even recognize each other or remember anything about our life on earth -- with the implication that our very personhood and identity as individual beings is sinful.

??

i've read a lot of very weird and seemingly misguided things in his posts. so much so that i usually don't even try to get into replying to him. it would be so much work lol -- which is, i guess, a fault, in me. to just pass it over -- am i loving him by ignoring it? so thanks for pointing that out, Sketch :)
Right. Not the way I envision heaven at all.
We can only speculate, of course, but it seems to me that the individuality of our souls is important to God.

He made us after all. Knit us together quite carefully I imagine. I don't believe we will lose that.
This idea that our spirits return to God in some big vat of spiritual goo just doesn't sound like the loving God
that I have a relationship with. What do you imagine?

This picture in Jeremiah 3 is during the millennial reign under the new covenant. Not a picture of heaven. :)(y)

In reference to this question, I always wondered about this scripture.
No mention of marriage, but childbearing seems to be possible between humans and angels.
Assuming "the sons of God" are angels.

Genesis 6:4
The Nephilim were on the earth in those days—and also afterward—when the sons of God went to the daughters of humans and had children by them. They were the heroes of old, men of renown.
What we are male and female, Jew and Gentile a creation commanded to be fruitful and multiply is not what we will be.

The Genesis 6 account is simply teaching not to be unevenly yoked. Lying spirits have no DNA . Angels were not created from the dust of the field.. If they cannot procreate amongst themselves (no commandment) . When we receive our new bodies they will not have the potential to procreate.

No, we will all be sons! Sons and heirs!

Gal. 3:28, 29 "There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.":cool::)

I would not say "no gender" but would say a "new creation". We are not what we will be .The two will become one new creation . (neither male nor female). No commandment to be fruitful and multiply to fulfill. The former things will not be remembered or ever come to mind forever more..

i always wonder when the world is renewed and we become immortal whether those who haven't will be allowed to get married
If you believe what is written in the book of Enoch, there is a verse that is referring to the days during the 1000 year reign of Christ which states that the elect will descend from heaven and bare children with those on the earth.

Enoch 39:1-2

"1 {And it shall come to pass in those days that elect and holy children will descend from the 2 high heaven, and their seed will become one with the children of men. And in those days Enoch received books of zeal and wrath, and books of disquiet and expulsion.}..."

If such will be the case, i dare say marriage may continue on through that time period at least.

Nope.. Jesus made it clear that in eternity we shall not be taking wives or husbands..

Mark 12: KJV
25 "For when they shall rise from the dead, they neither marry, nor are given in marriage; but are as the angels which are in heaven."

On what basis do you make such pseudo-biblical claims?
You have a right to your own opinions, but this scripture indicates that childbearing happened between humans and angels.

We shall be raised from the dead or raptured but in both cases we shall be transformed into our eternal forms.. So we will not be getting married and having Children during the 1000 years..

Did you notice that Jesus didn't actually answer the Sadducees question? (not directly)
But he did say they would be like the angels. In Genesis we are told that angels can procreate.
What do you make of that?

Genesis 6:4
The Nephilim were on the earth in those days—and also afterward—when the sons of God went to the daughters of humans and had children by them. They were the heroes of old, men of renown.

Marriage is based on sexual attraction and pair bonding.
This is not relevant in heaven.

Two different kinds of creation. same kinds can multiply. Some are given commandment having the proper tools to make it even possible other cannot they have no commandment..

There is no need to make angels those who were created form the dust of the field. They are not considered beasts as natural man .

I don't see why not but this type of a relationship will no longer be called a marriage. Marriage is a contract between God, a man, and a woman and is enforceable until the death of one of the consenting parties. Since there will no longer be death than this type of relationship would be called something else.
