I believe God's Word:
1 Jn 1:5-10
5 This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.
6 If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:
walk in darkness this is present tense and speaks of continuous or habitual action.
7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
Walking in the light means believing what Scripture tells us.
8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
John is addressing believers throughout this chapter. The word have is present tense and signifies continuity.
The sense here in light of what follows is that our general condition is sinless because of Jesus continuous cleansing; but we do occasionally stumble into sin which if acknowledged is cleansed restoring us to sinlessness in God's eyes; but if not acknowledged is not cleansed. I believe that one confession at the time of salvation is sufficient if we accept God's word that we do in fact continue in sin which must also be cleansed.
9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.
KJV
This scripture makes a clear statement on this issue. Since Scripture does not contradict scripture, all other Scripture must be interpreted in light of this one.

11 And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.
12 He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.
13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.
14 And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:
15 And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.
16 If any man see his brother sin a sin which is not unto death, he shall ask, and he shall give him life for them that sin not unto death. There is a sin unto death: I do not say that he shall pray for it.
17 All unrighteousness is sin: and there is a sin not unto death.
18 We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not.
19 And we know that we are of God, and the whole world lieth in wickedness.
20 And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.
21 Little children, keep yourselves from idols. Amen.
You really don't need to enlarge like that my dear.. it does not add anything more or less..
Verse 10 Does not read if we say we don't sin.. it says if we say we have not sinned.. for all are guilty and need forgiveness and Reconciliation with Heavenly Father through His Sons Testament.
Now the bar is raised through the New Testament having received the Holy Spirit we are under Grace at Liberty to do the Good Shepherds commands... to say you are dead in your trespasses is to say you have not been born again. And if those of us who have received do not witness to those in darkness then GOD is not pleased.
Scripture does not contradict scripture but affirms the Truth.
John 8
Jesus went unto the mount of Olives. 2And early in the morning he came again into the temple, and all the people came unto him; and he sat down, and taught them. 3And the scribes and Pharisees brought unto him a woman taken in adultery; and when they had set her in the midst, 4They say unto him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act. 5Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest thou? 6This they said, tempting him, that they might have to accuse him. But Jesus stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground, as though he heard them not. 7So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her. 8And again he stooped down, and wrote on the ground. 9And they which heard it, being convicted by their own conscience, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, even unto the last: and Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst. 10When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee? 11She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.
Romans 3
21But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; 22Even the righteousness of God which isby faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference: 23For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; 24Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: 25Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; 26To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.
If you think GOD gave His only Begotten Son to cloak the dead in their trespasses then you have not Believed the Truth that sets you free. Like Christ you die to self to live unto GOD through Christ.
You are to be born again of the Holy Spirit that is subject to GOD's Law and are to walk in the Spirit while abiding... until the mortal puts on the immortal.
GOD sent His Son to redeem us to set us apart from the rest...
We are to be doer's of the Royal law for the King Gave instruction and His loyal servant love and obey their King.
To think that you can continue in willfull sin once you receive the Truth is sad...
Repent and believe... is to become Children of GOD. And GOD's Children delight in His Law through Faith in His Son.
How can we witness to the world as Ambassadors for Christ while dead in our trespasses....
To believe GOD's word is to believe all.. not just parts that fit the mood....
