I'm curious ... do you understand what these verses are talking about?
E.G. What is the power that is promised? ... And what is the promise?
Hint: The promise is not capitalized.

I already showed it, it is the promise of the Holy Spirit, confirmed again here.....

Galatians 3:14
That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

Ephesians 1:13
In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,

He may be indeed.
But, you are only considered righteous (by God), IF you practice righteousness!
Care to see the 10 NT verses which prove this?
That's alright, I also understand by Christ, thanks anyway. :)

Christ is my righteousness, as I have come in His name. What does it say about those who reject the ones who Jesus sends in His name? :)
That sound a little self righteous on your part.
I see no evidence of you being sent by Jesus.

James 4:10 "Humble yourself in the sight of the Lord, and He shall life you up"

Proverb 16:19 "Better it is to be of an humble spirit with the lowly, than to divide the spoil with the proud".

Matt. 23:12 "And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that humble himself shall be exalted".

That is a good one, me thinks you don't understand....(notice I use the words of God to prove my points) :)

John 7:39
(But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)

John 20:22
And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost:

Acts 1:8
But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

Luke 24:49
And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.

Acts 1:4
And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me.
Nice try but more ignorance of the truth and twist to fit your theology...the Spirit took the place of Jesus as guide and comforter of the church....it had nothing to do with their salvation........they were already saved and children of God.....

You can quote the whole bible, but that does not mean your application is biblical...which is obvious to most!

You have no proof that you come in the name of Jesus other than your claim to fame....and your doctrine belies who you really come from......

Many will come in my name saying............kind of sounds like you!

I can prove that the promise and the gift refer to ...
Jesus' special anointing (of some) of the baptism with the Holy Spirit.

Of course, the infilling comes first or at the same time.

The infilling is when He comes INSIDE.
The baptism is when He comes UPON.

Now we're getting into the PhD stuff.

I believe among other things that Jesus said your faith has made you clean. It is progressive; and progressive is not a negative term. It is a witness. This was spoken to His disciples, and only His disciples. The catch is that we do sin in the one thing we trust most about ourselves; This evidence is hidden in our Lord's prayer...,to do this daily. There is a connection between the nature of swine which can be found in each and every one of us; written into law and words of the prophets. We are no longer under the law, but the evidence of it teaches us facets of who we are and why we are that way. Jesus speaks about the swine in several parables. It is no small issue. To have dominion over these natures does involve 'managing' our lives in that regard.

When we sin, it is similar to building on the foundation that was taught to us. It won't be held against us, because it all will be tested by fire; and what is acceptable will remain, but what is consumed, we can say with understanding that we are saved even as if by fire.

Paul says some are ... in this one verse.
But, what do you do with those verses that warn of LOSING eternal life?
How about FALLING BACK unto perdition: Hebrews 10 (one of my favorites)?
Some do, but just not Paul's buddies! many lols

All Scriptures below are from the NKJV …

Mark 8:34-37
“Whoever desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake and
the gospel’s (sake) will save it. For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world,
and loses his own soul? (**) Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?”

(**) “and is himself destroyed or lost” – see Luke 9:25 below
“he who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life” – see John 12:25 below

“There is only one kind of true Christian; that is, a disciple … “You must deny yourself.” That means
that to follow Christ a person must give up his own desires and live only according to Christ’s desire.
We must deny our own pleasure, our own advantage, our own comfort … after we become Christians,
we must live completely for God … we must be ready to suffer and die for Him. Suffering and persecution will come to all who follow Christ (John 15:19, 2 Timothy 3:12). There can be no crown without the cross. … Whoever denies Christ in order to save his life (his life in this world, his pleasures, his pride, his honor and reputation, his possessions, his physical life) will lose his life (his true life, spiritual life, eternal life). But, whoever loses his life for Christ (that is, his life in this world, his pride, his honor, his possessions, his physical life itself) will save his life; he will obtain true spiritual life, eternal life. To lose one’s life for Christ and the Gospel means to deny one’s self and take up (one’s) cross and follow Jesus.”
… The Applied New Testament Commentary – Thomas Hale, 1996, ChariotVictor Publishing
(Dr. Hale is a Spirit-filled believer who served as a medical missionary with Interserve in Nepal.)

Matthew 10:38-39
“And he who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me.
He who finds his life will lose it, and he who loses his life for My sake will find it.”

Matthew 16:24-26
“If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it. For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?”

Luke 9:23-25
“If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross DAILY, and follow Me. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will save it. For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and is himself destroyed or lost?”

Luke 14:26-27,33
“If anyone comes to Me and does not hate his father and mother, wife and children,
brothers and sisters, yes, and his own life also, he cannot be My disciple.
And whoever does not bear his cross and come after Me cannot be My disciple.
… whoever of you does not forsake all that he has cannot be My disciple.”

John 12:25-26
“He who loves his life will lose it, and he who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life. If anyone serves Me, let him follow Me; and where I am, there My servant will be also. If anyone serves Me, him My Father will honor.”

“But we all must ‘die’ to ourselves. Our old sinful self must die, otherwise we shall not be able to bear
fruit for Christ (Mark 8:34-35, Romans 6:2-6, Galatians 5:24) … Jesus didn’t mean we must actually
‘hate’ ourselves. Rather He was saying that our love for Him must be so great that, in comparison,
our love for ourselves will seem like hate (Luke 14:26). Indeed, we cannot love our old sinful self
and Christ at the same time (Matthew 6:24).”
… The Applied New Testament Commentary – Thomas Hale, 1996, ChariotVictor Publishing

The cross was the Roman method of carrying out the death sentence.
The prisoner was made to carry his own cross to the place of execution.
A Christian is called to carry his cross daily while dying to self – to receive eternal life
(reference: the NT).
Not many men will accept this in our day. It is a hard and narrow way because death is a struggle and a war.

We have died on the cross in the very same way that Christ died on the cross - is Jesus still dying on that cross now?

Yes, we have the flesh but the flesh is not the real us. ( we are still responsible for what we do in our bodies ) The new creation in Christ is the new you. You have a new heart and at your core you are 100% righteous and sanctified just like Jesus is. You are one spirit with the Lord.

What we are doing to putting to death the "deeds of the body" by walking by the spirit - not by "dying to ourselves." If we et this wrong and our foundation for experiencing the true Christian life gets thrown out and the enemy has a field day with our unrenewed minds.

Then we are focusing on the flesh all the time - trying to not do the lusts of the flesh to fulfill "it's" desires. This is the complete opposite of the Christian life that is to be lived by the spirit within - the new creation in Christ that is created in righteousness and holiness.

We are joined as one spirit with the Lord. 1 Cor. 3:17. You will never be more righteous then you are now in your new heart.

This "dying to ourselves" doctrine is one of the reasons why the church has no power to effect real changes that reflect the true nature we have in Christ now because the truth is we have an exchanged life now. We are not trying to pretty up the flesh which has the law of sin still in it. The flesh with "it's" desires will always be here with us until we go to be with the Lord.

This is the reason why Christians can after decades still be deceived by the law of sin which is in our flesh and they can mess up and sin. Many pastors have fallen for this deception of the flesh too.

We are to consider ourselves dead to the sin that is in our flesh and instead consider ourselves alive unto God.

Understanding our "union" with Christ in His death and resurrection is paramount to building upon the foundation of Christ.

Romans 6:5-11 (NASB)
[SUP]5 [/SUP] For if we have become united with Him in the likeness of His death, certainly we shall also be in the likeness of His resurrection,

[SUP]6 [/SUP] knowing this, that our old self was crucified with Him, in order that our body of sin might be done away with, ( made ineffective ) so that we would no longer be slaves to sin;

[SUP]7 [/SUP] for he who has died is freed from sin.

[SUP]8 [/SUP] Now if we have died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him,

[SUP]9 [/SUP] knowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead, is never to die again; death no longer is master over Him.

[SUP]10 [/SUP] For the death that He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life that He lives, He lives to God.

[SUP]11 [/SUP] Even so consider yourselves to be dead to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus.

The real struggle is NOT in dying to ourselves but it is in the renewing of our minds to the truths of the finished work of Christ and that we are a new creation in Christ with a new heart created in righteousness and holiness.

The truth of our "union" with Christ and the reality that comes with this understanding is where the real us will reflect the nature of our new hearts outwardly to a world that is desperate to see the love and grace of our loving Father and Lord to them.

Yes, and what's more amazing is that Jesus is repeating these same verses
and admonitions and warnings ... to some of His elect during their prayer time
... lately.

I believe every word in the NT
(whether it's been messed with a bit by someone, mistranslated, no matter what).

People just don't understand that ...
The Scriptures and the Holy Spirit are all we have to go by!
They are all we have to put our trust in.
Don't put any trust in any man anywhere any time.

So, when there are many so-called grace-only OSAS verses in the NT
and many dire warnings in the NT against this doctrine ... it behooves one to:
work to RECONCILE both groups of NT verses!

5 min sure goes by fast when you're havin' fun!

true saving belief-faith =
heart-belief + trust + obedience + endurance in the faith until end of life

IMO, this covers all of the NT verses.

No cowardice is included in with endurance.

True believing/faith PRODUCES trust, obedience, endurance until the end.
