OliveTree32, you are right, it is my choice. I don't have a problem with it. If you do, then it's your problem.

Slepsog,
You don't know anything about me. To say that I want to be childish and play games is proof of that. I was simply responding to a previous comment. I think what is childish, is assuming that me going to a casino is going to be a road block to someone. Do you eat chocolate cake? Well that could be a roadblock to someone. Anything we do could be. Everything we do is tainted with sin and that is why Christ came and died for us.

As I stated in previous posts, I have prayed about it, and asked God that if it is an offense to Him, that He will trouble my soul and let me know. That hasn't happened yet. It's the Lord that I trust, in my relationship with Him, to instruct me on what He wants me to do , or not to do. Who better to instruct me than the Lord?

I still have not seen anything that includes entertainment in the sin catagory. When my mother was a girl, they were preaching in the churches, that television was a sin, and girls wearing pants. Well I guess it's ok now. Because someone says it is a sin, doesn't make it true. That's why I rely on the Lord to teach me what I can and can't do. People, all people, even you, are sinners, humans, and hypocrytes, just as Paul said. We are all guilty, and are all capable of the worst. I will never aspire to be anyones example. Christ is that, alone.

If you are offended by that, then again, that's your problem. Pray about it, and take yourselves out of the judgement seat.

By the way, marajuana is addressed as a seed bearing plant. God gave us diminion over everything seed bearing. I had an aunt that took marajuana when she had cancer. It helped her greatly. Now I suppose you have decided that is a sin. But where's your proof of that?

You can keep beating me over the head with your self righteousness. I will just say that you are right and I am wrong. There. Now it can end.

wow, well im blown away more and more each day bye the reactions and responses from fellow christians in here. But you know what, the Bible speaks for its self, and the holy spirit. I don't need to teach you, but God will, and thats that! All i did was give some scripture, so if you now refere to your self as being called a sinner for going to a Casino, than thats how you read it. i think the the question was, can christians do this, can they go to a casino. Sure its your walk, and between you and God. I personally don't go. Its an old way of life, and its in the past. I just know we are all new creations in christ so why partake in the old life style. If God chooses to send us out to witness in those places, than amen. But that does not mean He wants us to be foolish with are money, and throw it away in a machine. But to be a good stuard of it.

Yes, but ... there's many other things we could waste our money on. Unnecessary artwork, ornaments, an extra pair of shoes we'll never wear, ..etc.

Dare I say it - I've wasted more money tithing to churches that spend it on unnecessary million dollar building projects than I ever would waste it at a casino. :)

yes mahogonysnail, but when you tith im sure you do it out of obdiance and with trust in the Lord and the bible says, God likes a cheerful giver as it says in 2 corinthians 9:7. and extra pairs of shoes, lol. if you only knew my situation.:) yes, i know we all fall short of the glory of God, and each persons walk is differant and there growth. I can give scripture, but its up to the holy spirit to convict us all of sin. WE know when we do somthing right are wrong in are lives, all of us do even me. anyways, it was a good topic while it lasted. and by the way, i have family memebers who go to casino's, but i don't judge them, its not for me to do. Its up to the holy spirit to show them and direct there lives. Are job as christians is to lead by example, and to live what we have learned. and to apply the word to our daily lives as best we can and hope to continually be changed. Praise God we are changing and not the same, but are willing to learn from are Lord and listen and move forward into new things in our lives.

amen olivetree. Yes, God rewards our obedience, but probably not my stupidity after I realised where the money went. LOL. We're all learning.

I don't agree with casino's i mean gambling. But there are gaming machines everywhere these days not just Casinos.

And churches run raffles to raise money which is a form of gambling?, what do you think? I know some in church don't agree with it. Others see it necessary to raise money for the church.

yea you know what i have learned in my walk, is not to judge. I mean i just don't know. I really concern my self in my walk, its h ard enough as it is somtimes, but somthings i just don't get. I mean, i got a lotto ticket from my sister for christiams and it was nice. I scratched it and won a free ticket, but i will not go and buy one. I think God has so much to teach us all in our walks and about our selves that i just try and stay focused on Him. That is the best way to go. If i see a bro or a sis out right falling into some sin, well we are to come along side them and correct in love and encourage them. There are some things about others i don't get as well as there walk, and you know what, thats ok,, its between them and God. I know we have to lead by example. the world is watching every day. thats why the word says, we are not of this world. jesus said that. but on the church raffel deal, i don't know. sorry. :)

Missy,

I never made the argument that gambling is wrong because it might be stumbling block to someone; nor did I argue that gambling is wrong because entertainment is wasteful spending.

My position on gambling is that it is a sin because it is a manifestation of greed and covetousness. It is a means by which one acquires another persons property/money without returning a product or service. This is stealing by mutual agreement. Dueling was murder by mutual agreement. It has been correctly outlawed. Gambling was for years considered a vice. Now that society is backing away from biblical ideals even some Christians are excusing and participating in otherwise sinful activities.
