Praise be to God that He left us His Church, the Pillar and Foundation of Truth to help understand His word, both written down and through Sacred Tradition!
yes, I agree. But even more praise goes to God that we have his word so we can know which church this is. and which church it is not. His church will hold scripture as its ultimate authority. And would not need what you call 'sacred tradition" in order to prove its doctrines come from God because it is not proven, or contained in scripture.

This church understands God completed his book. and in this book anything he wants us to know can be found. and understood. If God wanted us to know other things. he would have continued to inspire men to continue to finish his word. he would not have left us wanting or wondering wiht an unfinished cannon, unable to prove these doctrines which can not be proven by scripture. He would have completed his word to prove he wanted us to know these other doctrines. or prove these are nothing but doctrines of men, and not from God.

The bible is the complete book. That is all a person needs. The bible is completed, just not fulfilled yet.

But then the question becomes which bible. The protestant one, the Catholic one, the Orthodox one, the Ethiopian orthodox one ,etc.

Hey guize, I have an idea!

I say we just wing it. Make stuff up as we go, call it Tradition, and when we change our mind, we'll just proclaim infallability of a human!

My point was there is a number of competing canons of scripture, and the protestant bible is just one among many, and it's not even the most widely accepted biblical canon.

The basic idea is that a claim is accepted as being true simply because most people are favorably inclined towards the claim. More formally, the fact that most people have favorable emotions associated with the claim is substituted in place of actual evidence for the claim. A person falls prey to this fallacy if he accepts a claim as being true simply because most other people approve of the claim.

Hey, it's not a new tactic! If we're right about Christ (no doubt in my mind based on historical analysis) every other religion has done it that way!

EDIT:
Except for Joseph Smith, he did pull the BoM, PoGP, and D&C right out of a top hat, but in a way he didn't. I think he saw that angel of light. Not just angels of light that can appear as angels of light. ;)

I say we just wing it. Make stuff up as we go, call it Sola Scriptura, and when we change our mind, we'll just proclaim the Holy Spirit led us to it!
Fixed that for you

I don't believe that majority determines the canon, the councils have determined the canon.
Try to refect that in your posts then. :)

Also, I'm waiting for a response in the torture thread. ;)
