You don't even know what a protestant is and I'm supposed to listen to you? If you look through this thread, you people are the ones that keep bringing up Mary and as a kicker, you pretend you can read my mind. I don't bring up Mary! Who is showing hatred now, as all I did was answer a question that was posed to protestants.
I am not protestant and for the record if you want my back ground here it is; 12 years in a Baptist church, 5 years in a Catholic church, 2 years again in a Baptist church, and now am Non-denominational because I have seen errors in teaching from each and every one of the denominations including Catholic.
Just because a person does not follow the teachings of the Catholic church over the bible does not make them a protestant....
But anyway to the topic of the question, it was asked if Mary was not more special then anybody else why was she chosen.
I made a point from clear biblical examples that a person does not have to be any more special than others, nor do they even have to be walking properly to be chosen by God.
Moses did not even believe in our God at the time he was chosen, for he was raised by Egyptian customs !!!
It was after he saw the burning bush that he believed....

If that is what you are saying and is what the Catholic church or at least yours has twisted this to say now then oh my gosh this is completely wrong. I have heard about the immaculate conception but it was never taught in this way. For it was taught that Mary was sinless before chosen, then had Jesus as a virgin, and then stayed that way.
First with this is that Joseph was chosen by God to take Mary as his wife so that others would not stone her to death.
Because an unmarried woman who was pregnant with child in those days was to be stoned to death by the law.
Second Mary is of the same family as Elizabeth was she was Mary's relative, and Elizabeth was chosen by God and gave birth to John the Baptist.
Third the bible speaks of other children that Mary and Joseph had together !!!

Where in the Scriptures mwc68 did God ever say Mary was without sin? To put this all to rest all you have to do mwc68 is show us where in the Scriptures did God ever say Mary was without sin! Its as easy as that!

The Roman Catholic Church teaches that Jesus Christ could not be born in a womb that had sin in it because the sin would spread to Jesus Christ and He would not be sinless then.
Therefore the Roman Catholic Church said Mary had to be without sin so her womb also would be without sin also and Jesus Christ would stay sinless.
But, here is the fun part.
The Roman Catholic Church teaches that Mary's Mother did not have to be without sin! That Mary being in a womb with sin by her own powers was able by herself to keep herself free from sin!
Do you see how powerless the Catholics believe God is? After all God could not keep Jesus Christ without sin, that only Mary could keep Jesus Christ without sin. AND Mary had the power by HERSELF to keep herself without sin!!!!
Do you see how the Catholics have elevated Mary WAY above God!
