I'm just trying to understand what you believe,
What we believe is to a large extent consolidated in these few passages. Primacy given to the fact that the prophets of old (including Daniel and everyone else) spoke of a succession of God-less earthy kingdoms, culminating in the final beast kingdom that the Lord Jesus Himself will destroy for the sake of His people Israel by His prophesied personal intervention known as the Second Coming, this to occur in the very near future.

From what I understand you believe little to none of this.
Since we believe what Peter is proclaiming, we DO NOT suffer the condemnation meted out in verses 3-5.
Evidently the "WILLINGLY IGNORANT" "scoffers" who do NOT believe "the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets" DO suffer the condemnation.

2Pe 3:1
This second epistle, beloved, I now write unto you; in both which I stir up your pure minds by way of remembrance:
2Pe 3:2
That ye may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us the apostles of the Lord and Saviour:

The Coming Day of the Lord

2Pe 3:3
Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,
2Pe 3:4
And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation. (HELLO!)
2Pe 3:5
For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:
2Pe 3:6
Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished:
2Pe 3:7
But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.
2Pe 3:8
But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
2Pe 3:9
The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

A New Heaven and Earth

2Pe 3:10
But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
2Pe 3:11
Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,
2Pe 3:12
Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?
2Pe 3:13
Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.

No, it says during the empire of Iron and clay.. The 4th empire was the empire of Iron..
I am thinking that the skill of counting would be a necessity for any serious bible student.
But I am thinking that straightforward honesty is even more important.

From what I understand, the future aspect ["future" to us] is still called "the fourth beast" (I'm taking this from at least PART of Dan7:7 ['IN THE NIGHT visions'], maybe even the entire verse??... but where it INCLUDES the "feet" and the "10 horns" [and the "another little horn"]--as well as verses 17 and 19 and 23 saying "four"... or "fourth" [see v.24 also, about the "ten horns/kings"])

Daniel 2:41 says Iron and clay.
Yes,

which is different than Iron

the symbology is that the kingdom of Iron became mixed with clay. And had ten parts. As apposed to the legs of iron, which when the origional Roman Empire fell. It was divided into 2 kingdoms. East and west.

Much like Genesis 2 expands Genesis 1, Daniel 7 expands upon Daniel 2. The latter don't detract or negate the former, but enhance and inform what is there.

Exactly,

As does Rev (the passages I shared yesterday) Daniel 9, Daniel 10 - 12

so if the rome of Jesus day is the final form of rome in all of those chapters. Then we could see that Rome did what she was said she would do.. Including the kings (10) out of which one grows and sudues three of the ten, and take control. the Blasphemy against God (Abomination of desolation) and the 3.5 year reign he is given, at which time Jesus will crush his kingdom.

again, when did this happen? I find it no where in history

What you have persistently failed to address is the fact that the NT volume is the final explicit commentary that RIGHTLY INTERPRETS all of the OT prophets including Daniel. The result is a woefully inadequate model of this present age, where we were, where we are at and where we are going.

Rev 1:19
Write the things which thou hast seen, and the things which are, and the things which shall be hereafter;

Rev 4:1
After this I looked, and, behold, a door was opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up hither, and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter.

Rev 1:7
Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen.
Rev 1:8
I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.

Agree. Arguably, this "fourth beast" never did perish. It moved East, waxed and waned and lingered to the present day, ready to assert itself at the end of the age.

What we do know for sure is that @Cameron143 believes that the "fourth beast" is of a tame, harmless, friendly loving sort. In fact even more tame, harmless, friendly and loving than the awful beast kingdoms that preceded it. The best of a succession of beast kingdoms that will bring lasting peace on the earth, with Gods blessing upon it.

Of course I am being facetious. The polar opposite is in fact true, given that this final beast kingdom is antagonistic to the Saints, and the little horn born out of it blasphemes God to his face. A beast so horrific that God Himself intervenes in history and stands to execute a judgement of total destruction.

Dan 7:7
After this I saw in the night visions, and behold a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, and strong exceedingly; and it had great iron teeth: it devoured and brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with the feet of it: and it was diverse from all the beasts that were before it; and it had ten horns.

Dan 7:8
I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another little horn, before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots: and, behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things.

Dan 7:23
Thus he said, The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth, which shall be diverse from all kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, and shall tread it down, and break it in pieces.

Dan 7:24
And the ten horns out of this kingdom are ten kings that shall arise: and another shall rise after them; and he shall be diverse from the first, and he shall subdue three kings.

Dan 7:25
And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.

You believe Rome to have been kind to God's people? Those hanging and burning as lanterns might differ.

You’re right, it adds to it. Makes it more clear..

Dan 2 speaks of the kingdom of Iron and the kingdom of Iron and clay.

Dan 7 gives ius deeper understanding of the iron and clay kingdom.

Rome was evil. But rome revives, it will be more evil than the first one was

My only point from Daniel 2 is that God set up an eternal kingdom in the 4th empire. The 4th empire is Rome. Coincidentally, that was when Jesus appeared on the scene.

Changing your tune are we? Your many posts indicate that THIS PRESENT "fourth beast" kingdom is that which will bring incremental improvement, a gradual peace for the world, by a very slow iterative process where the Saints of God will finally fill the earth and bring change.

And by your earlier posts, there is no terminus to this present "fourth beast" age. It will last to an indefinite and long time in the future.

On the other hand, the Scripture states a downward spiral of godlessness, violence, sin, rebellion and attacks on God people Israel and tribulation Saints so severe that the Lord Jesus will Personally need to intervene to save the world, lest ALL FLESH should perish.

Mar 13:20
And except that the Lord had shortened those days, no flesh should be saved: but for the elect's sake, whom he hath chosen, he hath shortened the days.
