it is heart-breaking to see, that even 'after conversion', when we are 'still given 'choices' and not become robots',
but are 'enlightened' to the fact that we really are allowed to be given the 'grace' to choose what we will,
and still, most choose to 'do their own will above the precious offering of our precious Saviour -

this is so very evident by us observing the actions of those who 'claim' to be the 'servants of Jesus Christ,
but going against His Word and Will...

I'm talking about the 'robbers-deceivers-liars, etc...

read the scriptures, they will enlighten you to the facts of what I have said: 'there is nothing 'new under the sun'...

i don't know why i didn't consider this verse earlier --

Drink no lager, but use a little pale ale for thy stomach's sake and thine often infirmities.
(1 Timothy 5:23)
how does this fit?
what is "
wine"? what is "water"?
what is my stomach's sake, and what are my frequent afflictions?
I want some of what uer smoking

There were dietary laws under the Old Covenant, but NOTHING was commanded to be eaten.
not so.
please have a look at the first dozen pages or so of this thread, Nehemiah.

for example, in Exodus 12:1-13 / Numbers 9:1-14, every Israelite was commanded to eat of the passover lamb, together with unleavened bread and bitter herbs. none may be left over until morning - anything remaining must be burned.
the stranger in the land was not commanded to eat but was allowed to -- even if uncircumcised!

in this thread i am looking for every passage in the scripture where anyone was told or coerced to eat something, not necessarily as a universal law, but any instance where someone is told "eat" or an ordinance requiring that a thing be eaten or drank is given.

you know what's interesting about this, is that if you were a particularly holy Armstrongite, doing nothing not specifically authorized/instructed in the NT, would you starve yourself to death?
perhaps only you would drink wine, because it is commanded in 1 Tim. 5:23 ? or bread and wine, per communion as given in the record of the last supper?

If we are talking about ordinary food for sustenance, NOTHING was commanded to be eaten. If we are talking about feasts and sacrifices, that is a totally different matter.

i'm talking about, anywhere in scripture someone is commanded or coerced to eat. :)

isn't it interesting, as you say, not even the manna was commanded '
thou shalt eat' ?

but the paschal lamb. the dust of the destroyed idol, mixed with water. the unleavened bread. the blood and flesh of the Lord -- do you see a picture of the gospel emerging from searching these things out?
