I just feel like the leaders should set an example in the church. Because I'm telling you right now that if my Pastor starts dressing like BoBo..the clown then we're going to get very concerned. Seriously. .I'm from a culture that puts a lot of emphasis on fashion and hairstyles and such. But if my saying this offends anyone then please forgive me.

How was Jesus dress when He died for us on the cross?

If you want to dress nicely and feel it honors God, then do so.

However you are wrong to judge someone based upon their clothes, because Jesus didn't look at clothes or worldly status, riches and position. He looks at people's hearts and we should do the same.
Jesus became poor on the cross, so we can be rich and dress smartly.

Stating a fact, isn't judging people.

Yes.But is something wrong with wanting your Pastor to look if not expensively dressed but decently dressed?I mean they don't have to wear Giorgio Armani And ostrich skin shoes but a nice and neat off the rack suit would do. Anyway this thread isn't about clothes. Sorry.

Not under Condemnation

Psalm 143:1–3

Hear my prayer, O Lord, give ear to my supplications! Answer me in Thy faithfulness, in Thy righteousness! And do not enter into judgment with Thy servant, for in Thy sight no man living is righteous. For the enemy has persecuted my soul; he has crushed my life to the ground. NASB

The psalmist there was struggling with a dark force that attacks almost every one of us at some time or another, the force of condemnation. Each of us has an enemy, an accuser, one who seeks to make us feel guilty, unworthy, one who reminds us of our failures and our shortcomings and our unworthiness, and if we let him go on speaking to us he’ll crush our life down to the ground. The answer is the answer that the psalmist found. He turned to God and he prayed. And he said, “Give ear to my supplications. Answer me in Thy faithfulness and in Thy righteousness.”

When we are facing condemnation and a sense of unworthiness, it is most important that we don’t listen to the enemy any longer; that we turn to God and that we appeal to God for help. Not on the basis of our righteousness or our faithfulness, but on the basis of God’s righteousness and God’s faithfulness. That is the way out from condemnation. That’s the way back into victory.

We don’t ask God to enter into judgment with us, we ask Him to answer us on the basis of His righteousness and His faithfulness and when we do that, we are released from that dark power of condemnation.

[TD="colspan: 3, align: left"] When you have a plant with sickly leaves, it would be foolish to just treat the leaves without knowing the root cause of the problem. Similarly, when “leaves” of sickness, poverty and destructive habits start sprouting in your life, you need to know what the root cause is.

Experts will tell you that it is stress. They may go a little deeper and say that it is fear—fear of the future, of rejection, of loss, of death and so on. But is fear really the root? Or is there something deeper than fear?

The Bible shows us that the most fundamental cause of problems in our lives is condemnation. With condemnation comes fear. Fear then induces stress which brings about the symptoms of the curse.

This is what happened to Adam. Long before he faced poverty, sickness and eventually death, he had stress. Because of his sin, God told him, “In the sweat of your face you shall eat bread till you return to the ground.” (Genesis 3:19) Sweat speaks of stress.

But before there was stress, there was fear because Adam told God, “I heard Your voice in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; and I hid myself.” (Genesis 3:10)

But what made Adam fearful? Adam only feared when, seeing his nakedness, he realized that he had sinned against God. He felt so ashamed and condemned that he hid himself. God then asked him, “Who told you that you were naked?” (Genesis 3:11) There was no one else in the garden other than Adam and Eve, so we know that it was probably the devil who told Adam that he was naked.

My friend, condemnation is the root cause of the symptoms of the curse manifesting in your life. That is why you need to know that at the cross, God took all your sins, put them on Jesus and unleashed the full fury of His wrath against them until Jesus cried out, “It is finished!”

All your sins have been completely punished in the body of Christ who was condemned for you. The root cause of all your problems has been dealt with. This means that the devil cannot enforce the curse in your life apart from your receiving condemnation. So come to the place of no condemnation and no sick leaves will sprout in your life!

He did not only preach the grace.. he also preached the harsh consequences of sin throughout his life. and that faith without works is dead and that Gods standards never changed only because people wish it to be. He truly was a great teacher. I wish I could have met him

We believers are supposed to be getting used to the idea of not looking on outward appearance of things. Check out Hebrews 11:1
Now faith is the assurance (title deed, confirmation) of things hoped for (divinely guaranteed), and the evidence of things not seen [the conviction of their reality—faith comprehends as fact what cannot be experienced by the physical senses].

God says in His Word., He takes the things in the world that are "not" to show out the things that "are" So God uses people who look (and are kind of) 'odd' to show out His life in them. You're missing out on a ton of good stuff by looking only on the outward appearance of people and things. The world does that all the time and we are supposed to be learning not to do that.

That is in fact a very annoying characteristic in us humans- to be respecters of people based on something as superficial as the outward appearances or having or not having money. A Christian has to learn not to judge; not to put those people they judged to go sit in the back at a lowly positional place at the table.

When you consider how God loves us and takes the 'likes' of us and sits us at the front of the table and gives us the best of His blessings you can't (unless you are blind to the grace of God) treat others based on their outward appearances. God loves people; clean or dirty., smart or stupid., attractive or unattractive. God loves people so much He sent His most and best by sending His only Son Jesus to die for us all. While we were yet sinners Christ died for us.

You would come against dressing smart because you are a false grace teacher who thinks they can do what they want, because you think grace covers everything.

Please answer the question, what do you do with Mk 11: 25--26.

The man in that video, is a typical false grace teacher, He twists the truth and gives his own wrong opinions.
He obviously doesn't know that one day he will have to give an account for the lies that he teaches.

Go read what I said in post #510 again and you will have your answer for the 4th time now. You don't have to like the answer as you apparently think that anyone who has a different opinion of you is a false teacher and if they have what you call "scruffy" clothes - they are condemned. ... Jesus had a lot to say about these kinds of people that He encountered.

What you said on post, *510, was a cop out, and it wasn't an answer.
So what you believe, is, you believe what you want to, and the scriptures that you you wrong, you say there not for Christians.
So you don't believe Matt 7: 7-'1, and Mk 11: 22--24 are for Christians.
And you don't believe 1 Jn chapters 1--5, are for Christians. You cannot pick and choose what you want to believe.

If it can always be someone else who is the enemy of our Lord, we never have to face up to the enemy to our Lord being IN us. Then we don't have to walk in the truth or put our hand to the plow or pick up our cross or work out our salvation with fear and trembling. We can go on in the peace of self-deceit.
