Yes! Pilgrimshope, We understand that you believe that you are saved eternally by your good works.
It’s like scripture just bounces off with no effect and so you create things I haven’t said in order to have an argument of why we need to get away from
what Jesus the Lord said saves those who believe in him
Consider this one feller
“And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and
they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.
My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: and I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
My Father, which gave them me,
is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of
my Father's hand. I and my Father are one.
Then the Jews took up stones
again to stone him.”
John 10:16, 27-31 KJV
“Saved by grace through faith “
As “festus “would say “ whyyy you liddel scudder ewe “
what i mean is I ain’t never said “ I’m saved “ at all , never said anyone e else is saved or not saved because thyself not my place or judgement to make I have to answer to jesus when I die , I just don’t have an issue accepting it is the thing I’ve read Paul’s letters too much to not hear it
“For
we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.
Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we
persuade men; but we are made manifest unto God; and I trust also are made manifest in your consciences.”
2 Corinthians 5:10-11 KJV
and because
that’s not a lie we really do have to answer to Jesus Christ according to the gospel I’m not allowed to say it’s not there I’d only condemn myself by bending Gods word to suit me.
“For I know nothing by myself;
yet am I not hereby justified: but he that judgeth me is the Lord. Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts: and then shall every man have praise of God.”
1 Corinthians 4:4-5 KJV
Paul’s referring to this day
“Who will
render to every man according to his deeds: to them who by patient
continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life:
but
unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath, tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile;
but
glory, honour, and peace, to every man that worketh good, to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile: for there is no respect of persons with God.
..in the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel.”
Romans 2:6-11, 16 KJV
Which is this day and this judgement
“Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand,
Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: for I was an hungred, and
ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and
ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and
ye took me in: naked, and
ye clothed me: I was sick, and
ye visited me: I was in prison, and
ye came unto me. …And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you,
Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.
Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels: for I was an hungred, and
ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and
ye gave me no drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me
not in: naked, and ye clothed me
not: sick, and in prison, and
ye visited me not. ..Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you,
Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these,
ye did it not to me.
And
these shall go away into everlasting punishment:
but the righteous into life eternal.”
Matthew 25:34-36, 40-43, 45-46
we need to start repenting and believing stuff like this
“But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you, bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you. But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil. Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful. Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven: give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.”
Luke 6:27-28, 35-38
And start applying this
because we hear Gods word and trust him to lead us in the right way
Like James says about judgement day because we’ve all sinned and all sin is sin we need to live by the law of mercy which is a saving grace for us come judgement
“So
speak ye, and so do, as they that shall be judged by the law of liberty. For he shall have judgment without mercy, that hath shewed no mercy;
and
mercy rejoiceth against judgment.”
James 2:12-13 KJV
So Paul says
“
Put on therefore,
as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies,
kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering; forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye. And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.”
Colossians 3:12-14 KJV
We don’t need To interpret the New Testament we’re meant to learn from the plain truth presented and grow in faith
