The remedy for sin is the grace of God.

There is no sin test to pass because we cannot do it no matter how hard we try.

Jesus provides the liberty to be free from the bondage of sin. Focus on Him and less about all your sins.

The mind set on the flesh is death, but the mind set on the Spirit is life and peace” (Romans 8:6).

Trying to overcome sin by focusing on it has the exact opposite effect of what we want in our lives. If we fixate on what we do wrong and try to figure out how to conquer the bad behavior, we will always come up with some sort of plan that involves our own willpower and determination.

If you focus on self you will not Live in His Victory.

Is SIN a choice or an action?

The limited awareness of our SIN before or after conversion is not a true doctrine. The Bible clearly defines SIN has Choice and not something you are powerless over or commit without knowing. Sins of commission and omission are not found anywhere in the Bible.

SIN is a willful decision to go ahead and do what GOD told you was wrong and not to do.

It is this little issue that divides many and keeps people from understanding the correct truth that you overcome SIN now, not later. This doe snot mean sinless perfection which is wrong, we will still SIN, but it should not entangle you or have dominion over you.

TO say you sin and do not know you did it or know when you did is not going to pass the test with Jesus.

Psalm 19

12Who can discern his errors?
Declare me innocent from hidden faults.
13Keep back your servant also from presumptuous sins;
let them not have dominion over me!
Then I shall be blameless,
and innocent of great transgression.

So who exactly are the "false grace people"?
You quoted me to make an accusation so are you directing accusing me of been an heretic?
Is that a guilty dawG a barkin?

I was simply making the observation that "101 stuff" (simplicity of the Gospel) is not recognized by those that over teach grace, taking it to extreme.

They're doing the same with grace that others have done with prosperity... taking is beyond what God's Word teaches which is extra biblical leading to deception but since it's a trick of the devil it all looks right and even uses scripture just like satan did when he tried to trip up Jesus.

So to answer your question... if you believe you are on the right track, then why assume you are being attacked??? Unless of course maybe you question some of what you believe?

Sometimes people do comment and it's not an attack on you which this wasn't... especially since I did not specifically address it to you.

or its a lack of understanding. like the comment above notice the Long explanation of why jesus plain words just arent for chrisitans its as if they have found a different gospel because of the dangers of not gong through Jesus, instead looking to paul
Exactly... the first red flag is when folks start claiming the teachings of Jesus were to the Jews only and Jesus was teaching the law to the Jews.

They must have missed Luke 16:16 and they muse have missed Jesus telling His disciples to go out and preach all the things He had taught them.

If He wanted them to teach what Paul taught... Jesus would have said "here before long, a feller named Paul is gonna come along so you guys wait on him to get on the scene and learn from him what to teach and go teach that to all the world"

I consider what Rockrz posted an attack.
Someone should write a song about guilty dawGs a barkin...

We are saved by grace through faith. If you no longer have faith, you are no longer saved by grace.
Exactly... we get grace thru faith.

Maybe we should get a refresher course going on faith!

Lots of talk these days about grace and not that much 'bout faith.

Without faith, it's impossible to please God... yet all the false grace people keep saying God is pleased with people no matter what they do which ain't true and makes one blue.

So why pray for forgiveness?
Cause you ain't quite perfect yet... those with pride never ask for forgiveness cause they think they have arrived at sinless perfection... which they got thru belonging to that club Cherry Pickers R Us

Do we pray for forgiveness to give acknowledgment to our sins
King David went to the Lord and acknowledged his sin when he did wrong... instead of playing like it's all good.... and God called him a man after His own heart!

No, we should not be sin conscious and should be in a relationship with the Lord conscious which is even more reason to use 1 John 1:9 when we know we have done something that is not right which is the Holy Spirit letting us know we've done wrong.

The Lord is NOT saying "you dirty scoundrel, you have sinned... get away from Me!"

No, He IS saying "you have sinned... come to me and confess / forsake your sin so that I may cleanse you"... because what we sow is what we reap which is how God's Kingdom works... it's the operating system if you will of His Kingdom (Scriptures that speak of sowing and reaping - Genesis 8:22, Mark 4:26, Matthew 13:24, Galatians 6:7-8, Romans 5:14-21, Isaiah 3:10-11, Romans 2:7, Matthew 3:10, Matthew 7:17-20, Hebrews 6:8, Matthew 7:19, John 15:1-15, Galatians 6:7,8 and Jeremiah 17:10 demonstrates how seedtime harvest causes things to produce after it's own kind whether it's good producing good, or evil producing evil.)

Some need to go back and read that God is not mocked, whatsoever we sow is what we reap... if we sow to the flesh we shall of the flesh reap corruption found in Gal 6:7,8

False grace teachers make a mockery of God by claiming what we sow is not what we reap and if we do sow to the flesh it's all good cause all future sin is automatically forgiven so we never have to confess anything!

That's a lie and is causing some to live a lifestyle of not coming to the Lord when they sin (and yes, we all fall short of God's glory in one way or another)... making them workers of iniquity who Jesus will say in the end... depart from Me.

This is how some who think they are saved will end up swimming in that lake 'o fire for all eternity.

If they teach there is no more consequence for sin... then there's no reason why to not enjoy a little sin... just don't let your pastor catch ya!... unless of course he likes to sin a little to...

I agree that we need to repent on goingly as Christians - often - but not because our salvation is at risk.... If we are Christians then committing a sin does not cancel our salvation.
There you have it folks... no consequences for sin anymore! No wonder that guilty dawG was a barkin... cause he be guilty of false doctrine which is a work of the flesh, and unclean!

You can live in sin and still go to Heaven according to the modern false grace message... of course most of these guys do not say "hey, lets all go out and sin!"... but, they do say if ya do it has no beaing on your salvation.

This is why we are seeing more and more people who claim to be Christians supporting sinful behavior and walking after the flesh because after all... they believe all their future sin has already been forgiven so it really matters not to them whether on sins or not... it's all good up in they hood!

The ministries of John the Baptist and Jesus Christ are not the same - not by a long shot.
Not according to Jesus:

Luke 16:16
The law and the prophets were until John: since that time the kingdom of God is preached, and every man presseth into it.

According to Jesus... God's official message to mankind, starting with John the Baptist, is the Gospel of the Kingdom (who wants to live under the King's Domain???) which similar to the OT where they made sacrifices for sin... under the NT we use the sacrifice of the shed Blood of Jesus as often as needed when we employ 1 John 1:9

Most of you false grace people never mention when Jesus told the lady the Jews wanted to stone for adultery to... "go and sin no more"

Some how the "go and sin no more" part is conveniently left out of the false grace message because they be all seeker sensitive and would never say anything "negative" cause they offerings and book /DVD sales would go down and they jet would get repossessed (you know, the one they play like they paid cash for?)

So you deny Jesus' words are applicable to us today. Feeling free to pick and choose what you want from the gospel I see?

When it doesn't agree with the Grace777 International Version (GIV) then its not applicable, but when the promises are nice and comfy then you are free to accept those.
It's the gospel buffet line... feel free to not partake in things ye do not like or agree with.

I've found that God's correction IS good news!... but one must get ride of their pride and die to self and allow the Lord to ourge them of not wanting to partake of his correction which makes some to be bastards and no sons

Hebrews 12:5-11
And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him:
For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.
If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?
But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons.
Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live?
For they verily for a few days chastened us after their own pleasure; but he for our profit, that we might be partakers of his holiness.
Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.

that is rather funny, that you would accuse someone of picking out verses to support theology, while you do it all the time, plucking out verses about works and sin, while ignoring grace and forgiveness.
Somebody needs to reach out to the false grace people with... like brutha Paul Harvey used to say on the radio... the rest of the story!

They sure ain't getting the whole story with they favorite TV preacher that they idolize so much!

Gotta disagree here bro, one type of sin, you chose to SIN.

Gen 3, Gen 4.6-7, James 1.13-16, Romans 14.23, James 4.17 all prove without any doubt SIN is a choice not an action.

There is no sin we are not aware of committing, especially when you become a new creation.

How did Peter lose something only the new covenant provides? Unless you are a Calvinist and believe in predestination saying OT saints were saved makes no sense.

I believe Abel was a prophet that foreshadowed Jesus sacrifice when he offered a lamb instead of grain.

The New Covenant was foretold by God in Genesis 3 when God spoke of the Seed from Eve crushing the serpents head.

The new Covenant was not ushered in until Jesus rose again. Some say it was not until he sat down on the right hand of the Father.

So if this is true how did Peter, born under the law, get saved under it.

Able was no prophet, he was the first born of Adam.

Leviticus 5
17“If anyone sins, doing any of the things that by the LORD’s commandments ought not to be done, though he did not know it, then realizes his guilt, he shall bear his iniquity. 18He shall bring to the priest a ram without blemish out of the flock, or its equivalent, for a guilt offering, and the priest shall make atonement for him for the mistake that he made unintentionally, and he shall be forgiven. 19It is a guilt offering; he has indeed incurred guilt before the LORD.”

Sometimes we sin against God's laws and don't realise it until the Holy Spirit chastens is and we have to repent.

When God confronts us with our sin,we can either repent and learn to make amends and overcome that sin or rebel and reject His correction while continuing in that sin.

If we reject God's correction, he will punish us either in this life (so that we might repent after our punishment) or in hell.

Luke 11
49Therefore also the Wisdom of God said, ‘I will send them prophets and apostles, some of whom they will kill and persecute,’ 50so that the blood of all the prophets, shed from the foundation of the world, may be charged against this generation, 51from the blood of Abel to the blood of Zechariah, who perished between the altar and the sanctuary.

Are you really going to place yourself under the law?

Are you really going to place yourself under the law?
Do you really not know that all of creation is already under God's law?

The choice is rebellion (join Satan's forces) or acceptance (follow God's laws).

However following God's law is Old Covenant and does not save...it shows we are all sinners in need of a savior, because we have all come short of the glory of God.

God saves us (by having us hear the gospel: Jesus died on the cross for the remission of sins, rose again ascended into, heaven and sent His Holy spirit to us) and then teaches His kids why His laws were put into place and explains the Bible to us through His Holy spirit.

Servants do God's will. Heirs understand why.

[SUP]John 13:34 [/SUP]“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.

[h=1]Matthew 22:37-40King James Version (KJV)[/h] [SUP]37 [/SUP]Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
[SUP]38 [/SUP]This is the first and great commandment.
[SUP]39 [/SUP]And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
[SUP]40 [/SUP]On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

[h=1]Romans 10:3King James Version (KJV)[/h] [SUP]3 [/SUP]For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.

Pay close attention to that last one...we can never, ever out sin God's grace. When we are able to let go of our ego and pride and have faith in Jesus' finished work at the cross then and only then will we be able to know we are who God says we are and be able to love others as Jesus loves us. Couple more verses for ya..

[h=1]Romans 3:21-22King James Version (KJV)[/h] [SUP]21 [/SUP]But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets;
[SUP]22 [/SUP]Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:

Shalom.

Ezekiel 18

[SUP]20 [/SUP]The soul who sins shall die. The son shall not bear the guilt of the father, nor the father bear the guilt of the son. The righteousness of the righteous shall be upon himself, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon himself. [SUP]21 [/SUP]“But if a wicked man turns from all his sins which he has committed, keeps all My statutes, and does what is lawful and right, he shall surely live; he shall not die.

1 John 3 (NLT)

[SUP]4 [/SUP]Everyone who sins is breaking God’s law, for all sin is contrary to the law of God. [SUP]5 [/SUP]And you know that Jesus came to take away our sins, and there is no sin in him. [SUP]6 [/SUP]Anyone who continues to live in him will not sin. But anyone who keeps on sinning does not know him or understand who he is.

[SUP]7 [/SUP]Dear children, don’t let anyone deceive you about this: When people do what is right, it shows that they are righteous, even as Christ is righteous. [SUP]8 [/SUP]But when people keep on sinning, it shows that they belong to the devil, who has been sinning since the beginning. But the Son of God came to destroy the works of the devil. [SUP]9 [/SUP]Those who have been born into God’s family do not make a practice of sinning, because God’s life[SUP][a][/SUP] is in them. So they can’t keep on sinning, because they are children of God. [SUP]10 [/SUP]So now we can tell who are children of God and who are children of the devil. Anyone who does not live righteously and does not love other believers[SUP][b][/SUP] does not belong to God.

The righteousness we have is not based on what we do but based on what Jesus gave us. If we live our lives thinking our works give us righteousness we will miss all that God has given us in Christ while we are here. And what a shame that is for the Christian. To have alllll these blessings and not take hold of them because we feel unworthy.

Jesus took care of that unworthiness problem for us and did it all so we can have the gift of righteousness. That is the new covenant of grace in Christ. We are not to live under the old law of working to be right. Now we are to believe Jesus work is what makes us right since He gifted it to us. Living any other way is what will hinder us as believers. We have already stepped over from death unto life IN Christ if we received Jesus as Savior. Now we daily need to step over our own human mind set and INSTEAD claim the righteousness given to us by grace through faith. Can't do it without faith.

We need to daily say "I am the righteousness of God IN Christ" even if we don't feel like it or act like it sometimes. Jesus told us to do these things "saying" So say it and learn how to counter the effects of what the world the flesh and the devil are constantly telling you.
