I almost pulled a p_rehbein on a brand new thread. I would have been the first responder (haha). And I just couldn't do it. But I did manage not to post, which is progress, I guess. I don't know. It is frustrating, irritating, unproductive.... But at the same time, I am concerned that I might ignore an honest question.

Anyway, I don't really expect any response to this, and I don't think there is really anything that "we" can do about it. Maybe responding to the "nonsense" with open and honest answers, straightforward, but not harsh. And report when someone is plainly not searching for the truth.

Well, I think I will go respond to the possible troll. Well, my 6 month old is crying, so maybe later.

I think the word "screem" is spelled scream. I will check my dictionary to be on the safe side.

Threads can't be screened because that would require a 24/7 monitor to approve every thread before posting. And since mods/admins are volunteers who work on their own time, that's not going to happen.

Also, this question would belong in the Suggestions forum.

Actually, that was supposed to be screen, but my daughter started fusing so I didn't spell check.

Put your daughter on a circuit breaker and you won't need a fuse. ;)

I wasn't making a "suggestion" as I know it would take a lot of man power to check all the threads before they could be submitted. I was just expressing frustration. I really anticipated being ignored.

A lot of the apparent trolls I can see usually want to get a kick out of mocking Christianity. I find the best way to handle the situation is with kind words and answers.

Just don't give an emotional response. Don't get upset, angry, etc. It's usually what they are looking for. If you just act mature, intelligent, and kind, they'll give up eventually.

You might want to get that eye checked;)

One problem I see is that a lot of flooding happens under these trolls.
Bona fide posts become scarcer and scarcer.
Surely it isn't that hard to see one page loaded with 6 or more posts started by the same troll..ooops, poster.

Yeah, I'm getting better a spotting the nonsense posters, but I am not sure if I want to be. Or I guess it would be better said, that I don't want to start jumping to conclusions that someone is a "troll" upon seeing the first post that seems to be misleading or insincere. I hope that that made sense.

It did, but after a couple of days of seeing the same 'ol same 'ol it is hard not to come to a final 'trollusion'.

I hear you, brother! I want to act in love but the disagreeable threads build up over time and finally the camel's back is broken by a single piece of straw. It's discouraging.
