Look where wars come from.... James 4:1... From whence come wars and fightings among you? come they not hence, even of your lusts that war in your members? Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not. Jas 4:3 Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.

I always look at what JESUS did then I know WHAT GOD DID! How many people did Jesus kill when He was here? Did Jesus take on the masses against Him? Did He even defend Himself? NOPE! Oh and how many WARS did He start or command? ONE! Fight against your own flesh! Do not take your own fight to others, that will result in wars. Like David did!

Who told David to MURDER Bathseba's husband? I say it is the same LUST in his flesh that killed both Bathseba's husband and Goliath and the thousands of others...

Hi cobus.

I see you are misinterpreting again.......
Let me ask you a question, Who you defend the girl pictured next to you (granddaughter?) if
someone was attacking her?
Yes or no.

Of course you would.
Because that is the right thing to do.
Lethal force against an attacker who seeks to kill the innocent is RIGHT!
Jesus came down to meet Abraham.......do you know who He had with Him?
Two angels.
He sent them to destroy a whole metroplex of five cities.
Why?
Because of all the innocent blood that was on their hands.
(Perversion and killing go together like peanut butter and jelly)

Why should I try to outdo her angels? They are APPOINTED by God to protect her. God said to me... Sit back and watch me handle this thug.... And boy can God's Angels stop a man from doing stupid things.... Just read the Bible and see how many times they saved the situation.

A muslim asked me the same question, and God said.... Perfect love have no fear, no death, no remorce, and no revenge.

It is my youngest child, and if you knew her, you would know that she believes Jesus will look after her. I lived in a town where many children was molested, and yet I worked all day. My children had to walk to school by themselves, on very dangerous ways... So I asked God ...What should I do? And He said... what did Daniel do when they put him with the lions? And I knew, Every day when we pray... Lord lead us not into temptation but DELIVER us from evil, the lord will do so.

So any curse or bad thought others might have, I break in the Prayer of Jesus... FOR GOD KNOWETH TO DELIVER HIS CHILDREN FROM EVIL... If God delivers, it is FREE IN DEED! So that does not even cross my mind what will I do IF... there is NO IF! There is only GOD! The angles does deter all bad from her!

I hope you learn by this... there is only IF in hypocrates! True believers KNOW GOD, and GOD knows THEM AND THEIR SITUATION, And HE is in control of what happens to them ONLY HIM!

Hey those angels went to take Lot out of the city, they did not kill the gays that wanted to have sex with them, Lot offered his daughters for that. But God STOPPED the men with BLINDNESS... Read it again and see what the angels did. The fire and brimstone came down, and Lot were not even supposed to look back, let alone sit and watch the hell on that place! See it is up to angels not us! But then you have to believe the angels WILL do as God instruct, or else you better buy an arsenal and try it yourself.

Those people were NOT stopped by LOT but by their OWN want! They wanted Satan as their lord and Satan came to seek and destroy, this is what they also wanted, so they got the destruction they wanted. Do not blame Lot, He was not one of them! That is why two angels went to fetch them out, and they did what they had to do.

I use God's angels as my security, and that is that! I do not interfere with the job GOD appointed the angels to do... The Lord said, I will not bump my tow against a stone. He will even my ways, and I believe Him.

Angels are for supernatural intervention.
Like when you are about to die in a car crash, God sends one to keep
you from going through the windshield(as He did me).
Angels aren't for doing the things for us we are supposed to do.
Have no christians been killed?
They are today in the sudan and somalia.
Do you have self protection in your shop?
Do you have something to withstand an armed robber if they try to hold up your store?
And if not, isn't that somewhat of a neglect? To be at the mercy of armed bandits?

The angels were sent to get Lot out, but God reigned fire and brimstone.
Plus ONE angel killed 186,000 Assyrians when they laid siege to Jerusalem.
Because the Israelites were helpless. God sends angels to do what we cannot, like protect your daughter when she is alone.
But when you are there, you are her protector.
If christian men didn't fight for their families and their faith, the muslim hoards would have taken over all of europe(look it up).
They were stopped at Vienna. By christians defending their families, their faith, and their homeland.

Yes my friend. that is what I like to tell you. I have the BEST protection against thugs... Here it is straight from the Word of God!...
For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.

When I was young and stupid I served two years in the South African military. But now that I grew up and became wise, I trust in the Lord. And even death is a gain, as long as I stay in His will.

You ask if Christians did not die, yes they did without making war. John the baptist: head was chopped off, Jesus: was crucified, Stephen: was stoned...etc. etc. And what an honor to die for the Name of the Lord Christ Jesus. Not to lose or win a war for His Name, but to be executed by the false teachers for the TRUTH!

I do NO SIN if you steal my top coat, but i do sin if I do not give you my under-coat as well. So do I oppose you when you steal from me? No I offer you more than you want to steal! That is what God teaches. And if you slap me with a thread of stealing, I should shoot you? NO NO NO! If you slap my left cheek, please do the same on the right cheek. If you steal my top coat, please also take my under-coat.

I fear not what can harm the body, but...And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

I fear not any thugs, and believe me we have plenty of them here in South Africa. They even sing a song... Kill the boer, kill the farmer... That is when I pray... Lord forgive them they know not what they do!

I guess we do not agree on our security plans. Mine I tok out with God, and it only costs OBEDIENCE to my Lord! The other's have way to many complications.

My daughter, 8 years old... this is her protection... Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven.
My advice to a potential child molester.... Very unwise to tick-off the angels of my daughter, they WILL sort you out because Jesus will tell them to do so...

May the Lord's angels take care of you and your family my fellow disciples! And HE WILL! Pray to God to help you understand how HE DELIVERS FROM EVIL... Women remember these verses if you would like the angels around you day and night.... Neither was the man created for the woman; but the woman for the man.....1Co 11:10 For this cause ought the woman to have power on her head because of the angels.

Now about the apostle that probably killed the most Christians in history. I love Saul of Tarsus/Paul as he is the person in the Bible that I can mostly relat too. So many people quoted Paul when I started my journy as "Child of God" and so many things they said about Paul was just 100% against what I needed to hear.

Let me explain... people would quote Paul saying.... I am the chief sinner.... And they love to quote this one... the things I do not want to do that I do, and the things I want to do I do not... meaning Paul does not want to sin, but he does... and that just baffled my beliefs. I could not accept the fact that a apostle of God stil do sin.

Then I went to God, and sked.... Lord what is going on? Why is it so against everything that I believe when Paul is quoted by these sinners yet Christians, like me. I am the same than these people, I lso do the things I do not want too.... I sin though I do not want too. But why is it I feel Paul did not do as we do. Why is it that I feel PAul is telling a lie. Because Lord, was Paul not filled with Your Spirit? Please help me.

Then I read... This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief. Now I SAW GOD'S Word and I understood... Jesus came to save sinners, of whom Saul was chief.... Saul was the chief sinner, Paul was the chief SAVED sinner. And what is the difference? Jesus is the difference!

Come let us loof at the two men, Saul of Tarsus, and Paul of Jesus! Saul was approached by Jesus when He said... Saul, Saul why persecuteth thee me!But his was not the first time Jesus spoke to Saul... Just like when all of us also got our calling. Our calling is NOT the first time we hear God! Remember that the Lord said that He will send His Holy Spirit to REPROVE the WORLD of sin. John 16:8. Well when Saul was sill part of the world, the Holy Spirit did reprove him of the sin in persecuting Jesus! That is why the Lord said... It is hard for you to kick against the pricks. Acts 9. So Saul did kick against the reprove of the Holy Spirit, but now Jesus was starting to execute His salvation on Saul. Salvation is non existing if the man is not changed from sinner to holy man. Proof...Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

We all know that Jesus said to Ananias that Saul was chosen to become Paul, an apostle that will be the VESSEL to carry the gospel to the gentiles. God will NEVER use a sinner to represent Him, He has his holy men of God to do ALL He wants done... 2 Peter 1:21... So Saul had to be made holy FIRST. and God did this through Ananias...

Now the man Paul... How many Christians did the man named Paul persecute? NONE! Not one! How many Pharisee and Sadussee and Scribes did Paul please.... NONE Not one. So Saul the chief sinner, is now Paul the chief SAVED sinner, and a chosen vessel to save thousands of gentiles with the Gospel he once persecuted! Look at the change of heart, it is truly 100% From a murdering pharisee killing the just, to a man that gives HOLY LIFE to LOST worldy souls!

Saul killed people that had the Holy Spirit in them, Satan's will.... And Paul baptized people with Holy Spirit, to receive everlasting life... God's will. And that is how GOD'S will will be done in ALL He saves.

Did Paul lie to say or implicate that he still do the things he does not want too. Saul wanted to kill and destroy, and HE DID! But Paul? Did Paul want to kill and destroy? NO! And HE DID NOT! So why did Paul say the things I want to do I do not and the things I want not to do that I do.... DID HE LIE? No! But many like I without understanding will think so.

Look what Paul says here... For if the truth of God hath more abounded through my lie unto his glory; why yet am I also judged as a sinner? First thing you have to notice here is.... Paul does not wnat to be judged a sinner! WHY YET AM I ..... Why do you judge Paul as a sinner? Why Cobus why? Because I understand not.... And I will stop this very moment to judge Paul a sinner, because he is a saved sinner, busy doing WHAT GOD CALLED HIM FOR! God called Paul to carry His God's-spell (Gospel) to the gentiles of which these Romans Paul said these things too were part off!

When I realised how stupid these Romans were in their doings and how far apart this community were in spiritual levels I understood Paul had to speak on all levels of spiritual growth in ROME! Some are saints, on meat! Others were babies on milk, and some needed no more food they were just about FULLY grown.

It was the same with Jesus and His disciples. Some people only understood the P/preacher when H/he tlaks to them like children. The other GROWN UPS would understand if H/he speaks in grown-up language. Jesus and Paul experienced the same with the people they preached too. And because the Holy Spirit of God was the Teaching Spirit in BOTH Jesus and Paul, the Teaching was PERFECT! Every person that had ears to accept the Truth would get the message 100% for fitment to the heart of that person. Be it a baby on milk ar the last little peace of meat to COMPLETE the MATURE IN CHRIST... the perfect man!

Some in Rome were perfect... Romans 1. Other struggled to LAY DOWN THE SIN... these are the ones Paul had compassion with by saying.... I know you feel like the things you do not want to do, that you do...etc. Paul was putting himself in their shoes and explained to them that they should not fear... Because the same GOD that gave the other Romans and Paul the grace and apostleship for the obedience to the faith...Romans 1: 5... Is the Same Christ Jesus that Paul was preaching to them, and He is Faithful... For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

And this gave me Cobus hope...... Just like it did with the Romans that battled to lay down the sin! God's POWER will manifest in me if I believe. And these Romans also had to be strengthened in their BELIEF!

Then I realised all the people that did not believe that sin can be overcome 100% used those verses to justify their sins, as many before them. Their is NO justification for sin, only GOD can get rid of sins of our past, and only God can overcome sin here on earth, that is why they NEEDED to be CRUCIFIED for the world, and the world for them....

Paul said...For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature. To be crucified is to ENTER into Christ! And Christ Jesus into you... the NEW CREATURE! The perfect man! Rebirth/baptism of Holy Spirit/Born of God/clothed with Christ/holy man/God's Child/ bretren of Jesus. All these things are ONE FINAL TOUCH FROM GOD! God's glorification in a SAVED SINNER! Amen!

It has to do with your will. We are not, under our own will, supposed to go out and kill murder or slay anyone. But submitted to God's will, He may lead us to do just that. Well, old times at least. And in the end. But it goes to will, yours vs God's.

The phrase “Thou shalt not kill” sounds familiar to most persons for that is how some popular Bibles render Exodus 20:13. (Deut. 5:17) If, though, you look up this text in many modern translations, you will likely find “You must not murder” or “You must not commit murder.”

Yet others refer to this command when trying to show that the Bible is contradictory. One booklet with that aim has a heading “Killing Forbidden” and lists “Thou shalt not kill. (Ex. xx. 13.)” but then calls attention to cases in which God told the Israelites to execute others. (Exodus 32:27; 2 Kings 10:11, 30) And Jehovah directed the Israelites to exterminate enemy nations.-Deuteronomy 7:1, 2, 16; 12:31; Joshua 6:12-21.

The original Hebrew word involved is ratsahh, which literally means “to break” or “to dash to pieces.” In his Hebrew lexicon, scholar John Parkhurst explains that in the Bible ratsahh “denotes manslaughter or murder, i.e. either the accidental or wilful taking away of a man’s life.”

Israel’s wars were not in violation of God’s command that is fittingly rendered, “You must not murder.” The fact is that the Bible never uses the term ratsahh (murder) regarding any of those wars. When the Israelites warred at God’s command, they were not acting illegally. They were authorized by and were being directed by the Supreme Lawgiver. (Isaiah 33:22; Ps. 19:7) These wars were not wars for limitless territorial conquest, like so many of the national wars in recent times. They were not wars motivated by economic greed. Nor were they wars that violated legally arranged peace treaties or non-aggression pacts, as have some wars in modern history.

Absolutely no nation on earth today is composed entirely of persons worshiping Jehovah, miraculously directed by him through prophets and having a Divine grant to possess a certain portion of the earth. But all of that was the case with ancient Israel. Jehovah had noted that the inhabitants of Canaan were steeped in iniquity, being morally depraved and deserving of execution. (Genesis 15:13-21; Leviticus 18:24, 25) As the owner of the entire earth, God determined to give the land to the nation of Israel. And, under the direction of leaders he specially chose, God used Israel to carry out his judgment against the Canaanites.-Deuteronomy. 9:4, 5; 12:31; Joshua 10:40.

Hence, in executing Jehovah’s legal and morally upright judgments, or when defending their God-provided land, the Israelites were not guilty of violating the command, “You must not murder.”

So the rendering “Thou shalt not kill” does not truly convey the real flavor of the Sixth Commandment. It is more properly translated “You must not murder.” Appreciating this aids us to see that Israel’s righteous wars did not violate that command.

The david and golieth story tells and represents how to defeat the enemyand tells us so much more.

For scripture says, the thief comes to steal, kill and destroy.
The enemy is the theif.
The enemy was golieth.

Jesus is of the root of david, Jesus is the rock. our savior, salvation.

So, consider, David defeated the enemy , not with an army of many, but with a rock. :)

Seems this story is more about who our rock to destroy the enemy with is, than about a murder.

Our rock is Jesus , with this rock, the enemy is destroyed! :)

God bless

One of the characteristics of God is love and every verse of the entire bible reflects that. God wants all who belong to Him protected. If there is a murderer among us, and we are absolutely sure that person is capable of murder, God asks that we destroy that person so His children are protected.

It seems this has already been answered in great detail by some. Yet I would like to answer your question in simple terms.

You have confused murder with kill. The bible says in the original language, "You shall not murder."

You have also made a serious mistake by saying "all the apostles were killers". This points to your true motivation for asking about Goliath and David. You seem to be hostile to the bible and are attempting in vain to discredit the bible.

First, Goliath was a blasphemer which was punished by death second, goliath and all the giants of the philistines were a race of giants that were not of pure adamite genetics, they were a mixture of rogue spirits that were trying to prevent the seed of the woman ( the messiah) from crushing satan’s head, so satan tried to occupy the area he knew the promise to the Israelites would establish God's covenant in Israel and from where THE Victorious SEED would come to defeat Him, this happened twice the first time in Genesis before the flood the reason for the flood was the total worldwide(at that time)wickedness along with the total removal of such efforts of satan through the mixture of the seed of man and fallen spirits that succumbed to satan’s wiles.
