This is a classic example used in Hermeneutics. And proves why it is vital to understand Bible interpretation.

The fallacy with this thread is pulling 2 verses out of context, putting them together, when the do not belong together and they are not found together!

"You believe that God is one; you do well. Even the demons believe—and shudder!" James 2:19

"9 If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved." Romans 10:9-10

Notice how a verse from
James is linked with Romans 10:9. Some might protest and say the demons believe, so they are saved. Even though logically, that makes no sense, and has no meaning.

But verse 10 of Romans 10, explains some more parts of our salvation. Not anything different, just more details. The demons do not fulfill anything in Romans 10:10, so they cannot be saved, because they are in fear of Christ.

So, take a hermeneutics course, learn how to properly read the Bible and you won't end up debating things that are not connected. As I always say, look at the verses in context to the verses around them. Don't shove part of one verse, with part of another verse, not even found in the same book!
But where thiw logic breaks down is when the word saved is added. This post had established that demons are not saved, and the post has gone on to discuss whether knowing of all the wonders of the Lord is enough or do we have to ask Christ to fogive our sins. You are still working on the "saved",. It has long since been resolved.

It is for the man who thinks he's good with God by his outward works .
I wonder why these posts ALWAYS comes back to this, and there has never been a post stating salvation comes because of our work. It is beating a dead horse.

What if you were driving and you looked at a passing jogger inappropriately and just before you asked for forgiveness you skidded, hit a tree and died. Would you go to hell ?

God knows the heart.

Are you SERIOUS, throughfaith ? ? ?

The question implies that your actions, especially the last one, CONTROLS your destiny of Heaven or Hell. Wow, that is not FAITH at all. Genuine FAITH is from the HEART, like laymen said, You LOVE Him back, because HE first LOVE YOU. He knew we would FAIL, that is why HE inspired 1 John 1:9.

HE PAID FOR ALL SIN, PAST, PRESENT, AND FUTURE! . . 1606584970387.png . . HE PAID IT ALL!

I thank GOD that my eternal destiny is NOT in my hands, or I would drop it, and accidently go to Hell.

John 10:26-30 (HCSB)
26 But you don’t believe because you are not My sheep.
27 My sheep hear My voice, I know them, and they follow Me.
28 I give them eternal life, and they will never perish—ever!
No one {Not even Self,} will snatch them out of My hand.

29 My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all.
No one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand.

30 The Father and I are one.”

2 Timothy 1:9 (HCSB)
9 He has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works,
but according to His own purpose and grace, which was given to us in Christ Jesus
{when HE wrote our names in the book of life,} before time began.

You SEE that Genuine FAITH, is not what happens between your ears, that is like the faith of demons, it Must take place in your HEART (Human Spirit), like laymen said.

When Genuine Faith takes Place in your HEART, you know for sure you are ETERNALLY SAVED, and even you cannot LOSE IT. Why ? ? ?
BECAUSE JESUS CHRIST HAS A FIRM GRIB ON YOUR SALVATION, FROM THE BEGINNING OF TIME.

We hear that anyone who believes in Christ is saved, yet the demons believe in Christ and they are not saved. Do we have to do more to be saved? What more is required?
Abide in faith, hope and love; the greatest of these is love. What’s missing in your equation regarding demons and Jesus Christ?

Here Is the PROOF!

Romans 10:8-10 (HCSB)
8 On the contrary, what does it say? The message is near you, in your mouth and in your heart. This is the message of faith that we proclaim:
9 If you confess with your mouth, Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
10 One believes with the heart, resulting in righteousness, and one confesses with the mouth, resulting in salvation.

You might say, "But isn't saying it with your mouth a WORK ? ? ?"

Not at all, IF IT TRULY COMES FROM YOUR HEART. If all of that confession comes from what lies between your ears, it is only the same kind of faith Demons have. You see, when you are truly BORN AGAIN, the Holy Spirit puts eternal life in your once dead Human Spirit, then when you say "JESUS is my LORD," you say it with the mind of the human spirit, empowered by the HOLY SPIRIT, who has now taking up residence in it. Yes, I said the Mind of the human spirit, after you have been BORN Again, you will find you have two minds. The mind of the flesh, only thinks what self wants to do, while the mind of the human spirit thinks about what GOD wants you to do.
Yes there is a constant battle between the two human minds, but as you feed on the word of GOD, your human spiritual mind will get stronger and stronger, and will DOMINATE the mind of the flesh as you Mature Spiritually.

Here is proof that saying "JESUS is my LORD" from the heart IS NOT WORKS.

1 Corinthians 12:3 (HCSB)
3 Therefore I am informing you that no one speaking by the Spirit of God says, “Jesus is cursed,”
and no one can say, Jesus is Lord,” except by the Holy Spirit.

If one has not yet willingly surrendered to JESUS as MASTER, out of Pure Agape Love, you are not yet BORN AGAIN.

John 3:3-7 (HCSB)
3 Jesus replied, “I assure you: Unless someone is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”
4 “But how can anyone be born when he is old?” Nicodemus asked Him. “Can he enter his mother’s womb a second time and be born?”
5 Jesus answered, “I assure you: Unless someone is born of water {breaking of water at natural childbirth} and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.
6 Whatever is born of the flesh is flesh, and whatever is born of the Spirit is spirit.
7 Do not be amazed that I told you that you must be born again.

Do you KNOW what the first MOUNTAIN that mustard seed of FAITH moves?

The Mountain of Sin that separates us from our LORD!

It is as if posters wants to shoot any messenger who reminds them God wants us to obey Him. Scripture even tells us to be perfect! Could we be perfect if we tell Christ we do not repent of our sin, we want to keep it?

John 15: 10 I have obeyed my Father’s commands, and I remain in his love. In the same way, if you obey my commands, you will remain in my love.

Matt. 5:48 “Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.”

I agree, everything of the Lord has its basis in love.

But to love does not get our sins forgiven.

1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins..

Do I take this as yourself being perfect? You never ever stumble in the tiniest manner?

Matt. 5:48 “Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.”
Luke 6:36 Be ye therefore MERCIFUL, as your Father also is MERCIFUL.

Perfectionists conveniently never quote the Sermon on the Mount from Luke. 🤔
