Here is what God says about Christmas, Easter, Halloween, Lent, Sunday worship and Good Friday.

Deuteronomy 12:29-31 When the LORD goes ahead of you and destroys the nations and you live in their land, do not fall into the trap of following their customs and worshiping their gods. Do not inquire about their gods, saying, ‘How do these nations worship their gods? I want to follow their example.’ You must not worship the LORD the way the other nations worship their gods, for they perform for their gods everything the LORD hates.
You sir, are a complete and utter nutter. That's not what the Bible passage is about.

OP, your Bible passage refers to the creation of wooden idols, not Christmas trees. Christmas tree traditions are German and have only been around for 500 years, if that long.

Here is the unwatered down version of Christmas. You tell me if it's of God or not, never mind the fact that it's one big lie.

Even if those scripture s weren't talking about pagan holidays which they are . God is spirit and God is truth , those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth. How can you mix truth with a lie and get truth you cannot. Dear God, you didn't tell us to do this but we decided how we want to worship your sun, and it's going to be through giving each other worldly things and lying to our kids about a fat guy who takes your place in judging good and evil , and rewarding those who are good and bad. Wow.. really?????

God had accepted the Hellenistic Jews and the gentiles that were still celebrating "Yule" and their customary foods like pork and shellfish as offering as thanksgiving.
Which god? Probably not the one and only one who's name is JEALOUS.

I don't celebrate Christmas because I know where it's from. However, Jeremiah 10 is about idols made by human hands, not necessarily Christmas trees.

p.s. Sorry, Tintin beat me to it :(

Since Christmas, Easter, Sunday observance all revolve around the sun god of Babylon I would say a Christmas tree is an idol made to a false god.

Matthew 5:43 “You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’

Matthew 5:44 But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,

To me this sound like acceptance...But since you are law-keepers then let's see if you can keep this one that is the above verses. The minute that someone have slapped you on one cheek, you'll start pulling out a knife at that person that had slapped you. So do you want God's acceptance.

The last time I checked, Christmas, Easter, Halloween, Lent, Sunday observance, Good Friday and so on are not people. I love and accept all people but I preach against these things, which are not people. Usually you will find people hating you because of your stand against these things, not the other way around.

10:2 Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them.10:1 Hear ye the word which the LORD speaketh unto you, O house of Israel:10:3 For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe.10:4 They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not. Jeremiah
Yeah, it looks pretty once decorated. Kind of serene. If your conscience is bothering you about the cutting of trees for Christmas perhaps you may consider obtaining a plastic one from Walmart. That is what I usually do but then I am called a 'grinch' at times so you might want to take what I say with a grain of salt.

But I know that you still love them eventhough they stand against you on these subjects. But are you willing to sit down with them and eat with them while having Christmas dinner, and while eating, they will listen to you about Jesus? Thanksgiving is when a person offered you something in exchange for you have had given them the word.

My wife celebrates Christmas and has a Christmas tree in our house. I have to decorate the group home that I work in for every holiday. Our relationship with God is like a two month old corn stork with three leaves. There may not be any corn on the stork at three months but it's perfect in the eyes of God with three leaves. Now five months go by and it now has five leaves and still no corn. In God's eyes it's still perfect because it's suppose to have five leaves. At some point in the life of the corn stork it will have corn but until then, it's perfect in the eyes of God. Remember, the corn on the stork is not what makes it a corn stork. It's a corn stork so eventually the corn will show up. I work out my own salvation and I let others do the same with theirs.

So you don't think Christmas trees fall under the category of false Idol.

I believe a false idol begins in the heart. What is your heart orientation towards the thing in question? If I pluck a bunch of flowers from the back yard and give them to my wife does that mean the flowers are an idol? Does a picture of my kids hanging on the wall of my living room become a false idol? Everyone knows that Sunday is a special day for sun worshipers. They even call Sunday, "The Venerable Day of the Sun". Does that mean if I worship on Sunday I'm worshiping the sun god? No it does not! The problem with Sunday observance is that it replaced the Lord's Day, which is the seventh day Sabbath. We can fellowship everyday but we can't call everyday the seventh day Sabbath.

Only when one kills a cedar tree and moves it inside his home for no good reason other than to celebrate some tradition of man.

Amen!

I believe these traditions of men are not really an issue until they replace a commandment of God or they are viewed by man as a commandment of God.

Matthew 15:6 then he need not honor his father or mother.’ Thus you have made the commandmentof God of no effect by your tradition.

Mark 7:9 He said to them, “All too well you reject the commandment of God, that you may keep your tradition.

Matthew 15:9 And in vain they worship Me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.’ ”

Mark 7:7 And in vain they worship Me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.’
