So did Paul: 3 But with me it is a very small thing that I should be judged by you or by a human court1. In fact, I do not even judge myself. 4 For I know nothing against myself, yet I am not justified by this; but He who judges me is the Lord. 5 Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord comes, who will both bring to light the hidden things of darkness and reveal the counsels of the hearts. Then each one's praise will come from God. (1 Cor. 4:3-5 NKJ)
AMEN to that, brother. (y) And welcome aboard!

I especially like the end result of trusting in the Lord, i.e. "each one's praise will come from God". But not so much when our trust is in our own hearts.

You're forgetting what you said earlier:

(emphasis mine).

That is a huge IF! David, Solomon and Paul all seem to think differently than you. None of them believed that the default inclination of a fallen human heart is honesty. Neither do I. Your sentiment above is another great example of how you consistently tend to overestimate man's ability, which invariably results in self-trust.
David knew he was in a valley/trial and wrote about it.

Solomon wrote:
11 Then I looked on all the works that my hands had wrought, and on the labour that I had laboured to do; and, behold, all was vanity and a striving after wind, and there was no profit under the sun.
12 And I turned myself to behold wisdom, and madness and folly; for what can the man do that cometh after the king? even that which hath been already done.

And many of the things Paul writes about are the troubles he faces.

So not really sure how you think in many things these men were not aware when they address their trials, issues, sufferings, mistakes.

Well then proceed to trust in your heart that you, evidently, feel is much more trustworthy than God. You apparently think you have a mortal lock on understanding yourself -- better than God does even.

I am trusting in the LORD and His Spirit that dwells within me that alerts me and allows me to recognize each situation I am.

How do you know it's the Spirit?

This is why the Christian life must be lived by the Word and the Spirit. But hey...you're wiser than the Word, right?

I only QUOTED the WORD so I am most definitely only using the WORD.

I know it's the Spirit of God because that's how I am led to the Verses I use in my discussions, unlike a programmed doctrine that have their verses typed and categorized.

I guess the Spirit of God never led you "to the verses" that teach the great importance of sound doctrine? Then neither will I. There are none so foolish who think they are wise in their own eyes.

And when you were at that young and tender age range of 6 to 13, I suppose your teachers never taught you about the value of topical bible studies? Are you even aware that there is such a thing as a topical bible? And do you despise, too, bible verse cross references?

P.S. But originally you said you relied on [only] the Spirit, saying nothing about the Word.

Had you ever presented sound doctrine and not cherry picked verses out of true meaning and context I would have acknowledged you. But since you remove a verse from Matthew, Corinthians, Acts, John, where ever, and then completely ignore the verses before and after to destroy the literal and spiritual meaning of your cherry picked verses. I will never cast any pearls before the swine.

That's the nature of a topical study. If' one is studying the incarnation of Christ because he wishes to make a cogent argument for it, chances are many that he won't include very many passages in his study that speak primarily to sanctification, justification or election, etc. , etc. He'll search out relevant passages that speak directly or sometimes even indirectly to the particular subject at hand.

And how we can know that a "cherry-picker" is spot on with any argument is when his premise or conclusion passes the contradiction sniff test of the Law of Non contradiction. Or for that matter when it if doesn't violate any other law of logic. Or when his argument taken from divine revelation doesn't conflict with Natural Revelation (reality as we all know it). This is how we can know a thing is true!

And the reason you would never stoop so low to "cast any pearls before the swine"in my case is because you wouldn't know where to even begin to refute any of the major arguments I have made here. Your silence was deafening on my argument that Unconditional Election was illustrated in the Garden right after the Fall. And now you're silent again on my most recent argument that scripture teaches the Preservation of the Saints. I don't believe you're capable of making any cogent argument either for or against any given doctrine. From what I perceive about you, you're a bantam weight when it comes to any real knowledge of the Word of God. Your understanding of divine truth is superficial at best! But even worse than this, honesty is not your long suit. You will stop at nothing to try to prove your case. Look how many times you have disparaged Paul and his apostolic authority in a lame attempt to support one of your talking points?

So...if you want see who the real swine are, consult your nearest mirror, sir. :coffee:

I have no doubt your traits have been taught to you by those who you deemed worthy to receive their message.
I am thankful I never had such people in charge to teach such garbage unto me.

Typical of you! You presume so much while simultaneously knowing so little. Fools truly speak out of the abundance of their dark ignorance!

Prov 15:2
2 The tongue of the wise commends knowledge,
but the mouth of the fool gushes folly.

NIV

As I said very early on in this thread, I came upon the Reformed Traditions honestly and early on in my Christian life. I saw the truth, to what I later discovered were traditions expounded by Reformers, from the pages of scripture and my own salvation experience -- the latter being a mirror image of divine revelation. For this I make no apology.

You have already presented your doctrine. And you also have presented dissertations that are attached to known Reformed Platforms that you are literally copy/pasting + adding your own thoughts. If you don't want to be known then don't present items that can be researched to its original source. And you call me the foolish one.

Why do I need any Reformed Platform when I have only appealed to The Source and supported everything with biblical quotes or cites? You're just jealous that you can't do with your heretical views what I can do with my biblical ones.

And besides, do you think this forum is my first rodeo? I have known the Lord for over 40 years and have over that period of time acquired substantial study tools to help me grow in the knowledge of the Lord. In fact, I have over the years made my own digital version of a Topical Bible, Bible Harmonies, etc. Don't you know that when you "roll your own", you acquire deeper knowledge?

I go by the words of Christ that can be found in the Bible so if you think I am heretical then you are claiming Jesus was one.

Well, I'm glad to hear that then. You've finally come to your senses and understand that Jesus laid down his life only for his sheep, the same sheep for which he prayed. And as the Good Shepherd of the flock his Father has given him, he will never lose one of them because it's not his Father's will that any should ever perish. Therefore, none of the elect will ever be lost -- all per "the words of Christ".

And I can see you are unable to differ between a parable and the commands of the Father: 16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life."

I take it by the above that you don't believe what Jesus said after all. Didn't take me me long at all to prove your hypocrisy, did it?

You boldly claimed earlier:
"I go by the words of Christ that can be found in the Bible so if you think I am heretical then you are claiming Jesus was one."

But now that you can't believe him, then I have to think you believe Jesus was a heretic.

And there is no imperative in John 3:16, proving once again that there's nothing you won't do, no low to which you won't stoop to justify your presuppositions. There is no excuse you won't use, no matter how absurdly inane. And since you think Jesus' teachings, which he often expressed in parabolic form, aren't prime scripture on par with his Father's commands, why don't you give us your exposition of Mat 18: 1-14? This should be fun now that you've gone to a new low by pitting Father against Son, even though everything Jesus taught he received from his Father.
