This copy and paste adds quite a bit to the scriptures it addresses and avoids scriptures it cannot twist up enough. It`s a sad effort but since this isn`t original work I won`t bother addressing point by point. I`m sure your source would have liked credit for the work and I don`t think it speaks well for you to steal someone elses article. Still, this piece is a weak piece of work. it does nothing for your case.

It`s amateur hour
You call that a rebuttal? Sounds like a copout.

I never thought about it but I don`t see why it would. You tell me. I believe God knows in advance what people will choose to do.
James 2:21 -

"Was not Abraham our father justified by works, having offered his son Isaac upon the altar?"

Romans 4:2-3 -

"For if Abraham was justified by works, he has ground of boasting, but not toward God.
For what does the Scripture say? "And Abraham believed God, and it was reckoned to him for righteousness.""

[this ^ was many YEARS before his offering up of Isaac on the altar... per the Romans 4 chronology, and elsewhere]

Romans 3:28 -

"Therefore we reckon a man to be justified by faith apart from works of the Law."

Romans 3:20 -

"Therefore by works of the Law, not any flesh will be justified before Him; for through the Law is knowledge of sin."

Do you believe "justification" (for an individual believer) took place before time, and before they heard and believed? (just asking :) )

1 Corinthians 15:1-2a -

1 Now, brothers, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received, and in which you stand firm. 2 By this gospel you are saved...

[and Abraham was called "friend" of God by other MEN, per 2Chron20:7 ("Abraham thy friend")]

Amen

And people who have TRUE LIVING FAITH produce TRUE LIVING WORKS correct?

although the amount of work each person does varies,, based on christian growth correct?
Amen! All genuine believers are fruitful, but not all are equally fruitful. (Matthew 13:23)

Pick a better article next time you try that con on a message board. If yours was any good I would have been compelled to answer it anyway. That one was terrible. Unworthy to be remarked on.

Ok, I get your point :) Well said. Answer is yes.

3 For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.

Only one thing guides me

1. learning to love as God loved me
2. Learning to produce the fruit of the spirit by seeking after the things of the spirit

NO LAW can help me with these things.. If there had been a law which could. Then we would never have needed christ to begin with.
NO LAW can help me with these things.. If there had been a law which could. Then we would never have needed christ to begin with.

Whatever the master says to his slave or servant is deemed as a law for him. We were bought by the precious blood of Jesus and are now His possession, His servants, He is our Lord.
Jesus is the law written in our hearts, the love of God and the law that the one Lawgiver has given us. (John 3:16, Romans 8:1-17)

What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? By no means! Don’t you know that when you offer yourselves to someone to obey him as slaves, you are slaves to the one whom you obey—whether you are slaves to sin, which leads to death, or to obedience, which leads to righteousness? But thanks be to God that, though you used to be slaves to sin, you wholeheartedly obeyed the form of teaching to which you were entrusted. You have been set free from sin and have become slaves to righteousness. I put this in human terms because you are weak in your natural selves. Just as you used to offer the parts of your body in slavery to impurity and to ever-increasing wickedness, so now offer them in slavery to righteousness leading to holiness. When you were slaves to sin, you were free from the control of righteousness. What benefit did you reap at that time from the things you are now ashamed of? Those things result in death! But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves to God, the benefit you reap leads to holiness, and the result is eternal life. For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 6:15-23

Brothers, do not slander one another. Anyone who speaks against his brother or judges him speaks against the law and judges it. When you judge the law, you are not keeping it, but sitting in judgment on it. There is only one Lawgiver and Judge, the one who is able to save and destroy. But you—who are you to judge your neighbor? James 4:11-12

So you also, when you have done everything you were told to do, should say, ‘We are unworthy servants; we have only done our duty.’” Luke 17:7-10

This isn`t my first rodeo. I`ve seen plenty of compromised OSAS who point to verses they like and avoid verses that don`t work for them.
Useless to debate such people about it because you just go in a circle.
What’s the debate? We are saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. Quit putting stumbling blocks up against others, and quit shutting out the kingdom of heaven against others. You Pharisees haven’t changed at all in 2,000 years.

I see James a bit different, I think.

James 2:1 My brethren have not the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ the Lord of glory with respect of persons.

James 2:2 For if there come unto your assembly a man with a gold ring in goodly apparel and there come in also a poor man in vile raiment
What we LOOK FOR in a man should be what God sees in a man, the heart and mind on the Lord,

James 2:3 And ye have respect to him that weareth the gay clothing, and say unto him, Sit thou here in a good place and say to the poor, Stand thou there, or sit here under my footstool

James 2:4 Are ye not then partial in yourselves, and are become judges of evil thoughts?
OH HELP ME LORD

James 2:5 Hearken, my beloved brethren Hath not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he hath promised to them that love him?

James 2:6 But ye have despised the poor. Do not rich men oppress you and draw you before the judgment seats?

James 2:7 Do not they blaspheme that worthy name by the which ye are called?

James 2:8 If ye fulfil the royal law according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself, ye do well
Does it mean follow it, OR are we to do it perfectly, in love??

James 2:9 But if ye have respect to persons ye commit sin and are convinced of the law as transgressors.
Do you treat those who believe as you do better than those who do not??

James 2:10 For whosoever shall keep the whole law and yet offend in one point he is guilty of all
PRAISE YE THE LORD THAT TO BE GUILTY OF ALL, IS NOW LIKE GUILTY OF JUST ONE, AND UPON REPENTANCE, THE LAMBS BLOOD WASHES YOU CLEAN. THE POSSIBILITY OF THE STING OF DEATH, BEING IN BONDAGE AND HEAVYLY YOKED BY SIN, GONE,
NEVER TO BURDEN YOU AGAIN, NEVER TO CARRY AGAIN, JUST INSTANT FREEDOM FROM THAT SIN, THROUGH THE WORK OF THE LORD. PRAISE YE THE LORD.

James 2:11 For he that said, Do not commit adultery said also Do not kiLl. Now if thou commit no adultery yet if thou kill thou art become a transgressor of the law.
BREAKING THE LAW OF THE KINGDOM, IS BREAKING THE LAW OF THE KINGDOM AND ALL SIN CALLS FOR REPENTANCE,

James 2:12 So speak ye and so do, as they that shall be judged by the law of liberty.

James 2:13 For he shall have judgment without mercy that hath shewed no mercy and mercy rejoiceth against judgment.
Judge not in love, that is going to hurt.

James 2:14 What doth it profit my brethren though a man say he hath faith and have not works? can faith save him?
Seriously, all talk no show, not going to be good for you

James 2:15 If a brother or sister be naked and destitute of daily food

James 2:16 And one of you say unto them Depart in peace be ye warmed and filled notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body what doth it profit?
If you look good but don't do good, you are no good to God

James 2:17 Even so faith if it hath not works is dead being alone.
CERTAINLY NO WHERE TO WIGGLE HERE.

James 2:18 Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.
WOULD SEEM TO JUST DO GOOD, EVEN IF YOU DON'T TALK THE BEST GAME, IS A REALLY GOOD PLACE TO BE
James 2:19 Thou believest that there is one God thou doest well the devils also believe, and tremble.

James 2:20 But wilt thou know O vain man that faith without works is dead?
2ND TIME??? SO SOON. MARK THIS AS IMPORTANT

James 2:21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar?

James 2:22 Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect?
A GAME PLAN BEING LAID OUT FOR ALL

James 2:23 And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness and he was called the Friend of God.
DID NOT SAY IT "MADE" HIM RIGHTEOUS

James 2:24 Ye see then how that by works a man is justified and not by faith only.
WE KNOW, NOT TO BUY SALVATION, BUT SUPER IMPORTANT TO HAVE GOING ON IN YOUR LIFE

James 2:25 Likewise also was not Rahab the harlot justified by works when she had received the messengers and had sent them out another way?

James 2:26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also
I MYSELF NEED NO MORE TO KNOW WHERE WORKS STAND,

Was Rahab really a harlot? What would a harlot be doing with the amount of flax it would take to hide the men? Sounds like an "odd" side job you know???

Same with legalists and Pharisees.

They pretend the law of sin and death is not the 10 commandments so that they can continue justifying their work at it.

They pretend it is the 10 commandments that are written on the Christians Heart when they are born again.

But this is pure silliness, isn't it? How can Christ offer Rest if the 10 commandments are written on the Christians Heart?

How can Christ offer Rest if He doesn't first free us from our WORK at the 10 commandments?

This is pure simplicity and yet the legalist and Judaizer just crumples it up into their circular reasoning machine and makes everything about the law...

James and Paul taught same thing about works. They just express it differently. In the case of Rahab, yes she was a harlot and I believe the flax had been a form of payment for services.

Romans 13:3
For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same:

Ephesians 2:10
For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

1 Timothy 2:10
But (which becometh women professing godliness) with good works.

1 Timothy 5:10
Well reported of for good works; if she have brought up children, if she have lodged strangers, if she have washed the saints' feet, if she have relieved the afflicted, if she have diligently followed every good work.

1 Timothy 5:25
Likewise also the good works of some are manifest beforehand; and they that are otherwise cannot be hid.

1 Timothy 6:18
That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate;

2 Timothy 3:17
That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.

Titus 1:16
They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.

Titus 2:7
In all things shewing thyself a pattern of good works: in doctrine shewing uncorruptness, gravity, sincerity,

Titus 2:14
Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.

Titus 3:8
This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men.

Titus 3:14
And let our's also learn to maintain good works for necessary uses, that they be not unfruitful.

My post was not copy and pasted from an article. Still sounds like a cop out to me. Just admit that you have no rebuttal. If you are overwhelmed by the length of the entire post, then simply start with James 2:14. Stop acting childish and let’s reason together through the scriptures.
