15 What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace?

And so it goes. Like playing chess with a pigeon! Knocks over all the pieces, poops on the board. Then struts around acting like it won!
Best laugh I have been given in a long time. Thank you. Funny, that's funny.

Greetings NayborBear,

Just wanted to make sure you knew that I appreciate all your posts and to just send a note to insure you that my replies are all positive towards you and if you think I am saying something towards you that is critical you have it backwards. I applause you and have been critiquing the naysayers. Which as you so hilariously put it pigeon :poop: and even they should have laughed!

I gues you can add another word to your "deplorable" t-shirt if you take the gang seriously.."Judiazer"

So far they have called me satanic, heretic, judiazer, and anatolian or something like that, oh and a snake!

Makes you realize not only the reason but also the difference between the "Letter of the Law" and the "Spirit of the Law" and how the Holy Spirt leads us. Thank God for the wisdom and knowledge of God for the common sense to be able to discern between the times and the relevance and/or irrelevance of each of the laws that past away and/or was changed. Do you think common sense comes from a gift of God direct, or from study in the Word of God as a gift. I think He may gift people but more than not it comes from studying. I know for me it, it has been a huge leap. Some questions people ask can't be answered by another person, they can only be found, one on one with God in deep study. Some people get so mad when you tell them to find the answer in the bible themselves. And even with deep study, He gives it to you in His time not yours. Don't you agree?
Do you think that the rapist had to marry the girl because she was considered "not clean" after and as such would never marry and it was a way to make sure she did? Do you think there were many rapists? I think society was much different.
Where did it say the girl had to marry the rapist? I thought they were to be stoned to death? I have always found comfort in that. I think that all rapists and murderers should be stoned in public with the family allowed to throw the first stone. I think if we followed Gods laws on this today there would be much less of it happening.

The good side is it must have worked out really well for those star crossed lovers from different tribes who were told they would never be together, and they couldn't live without each other. But as with everything in this life it is the battle between Good and Evil every step of the way isn't it? People seem to forget that Everything is vanity. The only things that truly count are of the Sprititual world even here even now. God even tells us how fleeting this life is. I guess when you can divide a spirit from a soul it doesn't take to much flesh life to see how much of what we did back then was of love and goodness and strength and courage, or an evil influence or if the evil was really a part of us and we can't overcome. I know I can't wait till Judgment Day either.

Common sense is a gift of good parents, good behavior and definitly all the above when it comes to reading the word and listening to the Holy Spirit and very importantly Asking for it! If our Heavenly Father provided wisdom in the Scriptures then He would surely expect us to search them out rather that discouraging self study by giving everything to you without study. Study is a dicipling method and builds character. Those who do not study the Law are never going to find all the answers they might have otherwise.

When I read everything that was involved with animal sacrifice, and the ceremony and the statutes and ordinances and I don't think I even know a bunch of it still. Just the exactness of the tabernacle and how God wants things done and all the details it really open up my eyes to a side of grace I had never considered. I found it to be quite intense and I am so grateful it was completely changed and we are under grace. I think what hit me hardest, among one of the things, the priest having to wear bells so they would know if he was still alive or not. CRAZY. It wasn't like they had the blood of Jesus, and the confidence that comes from HIM. There is a confidence we possess they never even knew was possible. We do take so much for granted. Thank you Lord.

I agree we do take a lot for granted. To a large degree the past few generations have lost sight of the humility and fear we should have for God. The casual attitude many display today is not acceptable. When we learn to humble ourselves before God and Honor we will find ourselves quickly ushered into His presence.

Walking with God is a process of releasing our self nature which includes pride, arrogance, entitlement, selfish anything. I have heard many people say God wants us to demand He hear us and pound our fist to get what we are entitled to through Christs work! Can you imagine!

No, I think if I did that I would get slapped down hard. Wasn't Korah doing something to that effect just with Moses?

Yes, it's not there (in the Gospels)! So, we have to rely on what Paul said, if we want to be free from the burden of the Law.

Nice to hear back from you. I meant to say also that while Jesus did not say the Law was abolished, many agree that he stated clearly, just the opposite. That would leave us with some translation issues regarding Paul's writings or our take on them. Even Paul seems to counter the argument regarding abolishing the law.

Greetings Marcelo,

I do see it differently; King David for example had the anointing of the Holy Spirit. There are many confirmations of this, I particularly like:

Psa 51:11-13 KJV Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me. (12) Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit. (13) Then will I teach transgressors thy ways; and sinners shall be converted unto thee.

Through the Holy Spirit David fell in love with Gods Laws/Ways/Judgements etc!:

Psa 119:97-100 KJV MEM. O how love I thy law! it is my meditation all the day. (98) Thou through thy commandments hast made me wiser than mine enemies: for they are ever with me. (99) I have more understanding than all my teachers: for thy testimonies are my meditation. (100) I understand more than the ancients, because I keep thy precepts.

Even with the Holy Spirit David Loved Gods Laws! Does it sound like he was in bondage to the Law?

Gods intentions are a Kingdom of David's, men after His own Heart!

Why did David love Gods Laws so much? Because Gods Laws are not a form of Bondage, but are Liberty.

Look at our own nation, The USA. Founded upon many of Gods Laws we formed a land of Freedom and Liberty. But look at what is happening as our nation becomes more "lawless"; we are losing our Freedom and Liberties!

Gods Laws are the essence of freedom and liberty.

God calls us to accept Jesus Christ as personal Savior. We are also called to a life of obedience to God’s commandments.

Law-keeping does not earn a person salvation, which is a gift from God (Romans 6:23); the keeping of His laws is our grateful response to God (1 John 5:2-3; John 14:15, 21).

p.s. I watched/listened to some of the acapella videos you shared! Amazing! I was one of the first people in line to buy Glad's "Acapella Project" way back when!
Hi, SimpleGardener!

It's a good thing to love the law God has given to us through Moses, but what is in force now is the New Covenant and therefore we are supposed to obey the law God has given to us through Jesus Christ.

In fact 1 John 5:2 talks about keeping Gods commands (or commandments): This is how we know that we love the children of God: by loving God and carrying out his commands. 3In fact, this is love for God: to keep his commands. And his commands are not burdensome.

The Greek word here is ἐντολάς used many times to refer to the Ten Commandments, but it is also used in Colossians 4:10 meaning INSTRUCTION. So, I think that the ἐντολάς (commandments) we are supposed to keep are the teachings of Jesus that are applicable to the Gentiles.

I just loved Glad's Acapella Project, they are great!

Well we must pray that we continue to grow in wisdom and knowledge concerning His will in all matters of the Law and commandments in general as there are so very many blessings and curses or prophetic utterances relative to "that day". In this we can all agree.

Yes they are great! I tried to compress an mp3 track from the album but it was too large.

When did you first hear them? Today?

Which one impressed you the most?

GLAD
And This Is Love Lyrics

And this is Love, not that I have first loved You
And this is Love, that You have first loved me
And You give up Your life
One perfect sacrifice
And this is Love, that You have first loved me

You did not wait for me to make myself a worthy man
You did not wait for me to make a good and righteous stand
There was nothing I could do
In sin I had died
Yet Your love conquered death and raised me to Your side

And this is Love, not that I have first loved You
And this is Love, that You have first loved me
And You give up Your life
One perfect sacrifice
And this is Love, that You have first loved me

Beautiful song, thanks for sharing Marcelo. :)

Once again you have proved you do not understand what we think. And I am personally sick of trying to explain it to you because I have tried so many times and you refuse to see it
Have you pondered the possibility that you are a little inept of explaining scripture?
I would start there...with a different tenor.

Yes, wisdom comes from God.

I first heard Glad today and so far I've heard only that one song. Thanks for introducing me to them!

It's bedtime in my timezone. Good night!

The bells yes, and tied a rope to the high priest in case he did an offence and got struck dead, they needed to be able to get him out of there without going in themselves because they were not authorized. It's truly fascinating to read and ponder, always a new something to learn. The Bible is really a big pattern for us I believe. A pattern something useful to replicate a thing, the parts of the sacrifice, how they were prepared what parts were used, arrangement of the temple, spoken word from heaven to tables of stone to written on our hearts, all have meaning, all designed to teach us. Reminds me of Ezekiel 43:
10 “Son of man, describe the temple to the people of Israel, that they may be ashamed of their sins. Let them consider its perfection, 11 and if they are ashamed of all they have done, make known to them the design of the temple—its arrangement, its exits and entrances—its whole design and all its regulations[d] and laws. Write these down before them so that they may be faithful to its design and follow all its regulations.

12 “This is the law of the temple: All the surrounding area on top of the mountain will be most holy. Such is the law of the temple.

So how do the lawyers read this?

(Acts 13:38 “Therefore let it be known to you, brethren, that through this Man is preached to you the forgiveness of sins )

(Acts 13:39 and by Him everyone who believes is justified from all things from which you could not be justified by the law of Moses. )

It is interesting you talking about rapists.
The idea of the law was when a man took a virgin who they wanted to marry and had sex with them
they caused them to have life long shame, which meant probably they would not find another man
who would choose them as a bride.

So the solution was to force the man to always have to provide for the woman as their wife, so the man
became in effect the servant of the woman. It was bound by the cultural and social constraints of rural
life where everything relied on provision of labour to support anyone with nothing to spare.

Hi preston,

There is nothing inept going on here. What do you do with someone with a hammer wanting submission?
Exit the building, lol.

Paul is explicit about behaviour that is poor, ungodly,

3 But among you there must not be even a hint of sexual immorality, or of any kind of impurity, or of greed, because these are improper for God's holy people.
4 Nor should there be obscenity, foolish talk or coarse joking, which are out of place, but rather thanksgiving.
5 For of this you can be sure: No immoral, impure or greedy person--such a man is an idolater--has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.
Eph 5

8 For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light
9 (for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness and truth)
10 and find out what pleases the Lord.
Eph 5

19 Speak to one another with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord,
20 always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
21 Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ.
Eph 5

Talking about sin in the third person, as if it is something not our responsibility but innate
is a deception, which leads people to claim we cannot avoid sin, and are bound to it until
we meet the Lord. Odd conversations come about where the idea is sin happens all the time
without even doing things. So Gods cleansing and forgiveness is not true, we are not truly
cleansed, so they believe. To even walk in purity for one second for them is impossible.

The language to cover this would be, no in Gods eyes we are pure because of Jesus covering
us, rather than we are washed clean and walk as a purified people.

the message concerning faith that we proclaim:
if you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved, for it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.
(Romans 10:8-10)
First thing You left out an important part of the opening clause. "that is"
But the righteousness which is of faith speaketh on this wise, Say not in thine heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? (that is, to bring Christ down from above:) Or, Who shall descend into the deep? (that is, to bring up Christ again from the dead.) But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
(Rom 10:6-9 KJV)

In each instance that "that is" is used prior. What precedes it is connected to what is after it.

Time to get ready for work. Will post more later on this GOD willing.
