Pork was never considered "food" by God or according to His Law. Just like human feces were never considered "food."

So when Jesus makes "all foods clean" in Mark 7:19, he isn't talking about pork or shellfish or human feces. He's talking about "food" that had been considered unclean by the Pharisees.

Also, Acts 10 isn't about "food" at all, rather about men as Peter says in verse 28.

God wouldn't create an animal to be physically and biologically "unclean" upon creation, and then decide that what He had made biologically unclean was now clean. That would undermine is creative perfection.
Can you tell me what happened in Haggai 2 by GOD'S declaration to the earthly high priests and all the nations?
How can what was already declared unclean be made clean?

Can one eat and follow a strict dietary regiment according to GOD so that GOD will reverse HIS already declared words through the Prophet Haggai that all nations are unclean before HIM...and nevertheless and even so...HE would bless them?

So, who was GOD speaking to?
Those who were following the Law?
Or those who weren't?

Well?
Actually GOD said ALL NATIONS.
SO I guess it would apply to both

Yes I believe I said at the end you are free to choose to be sick and disregard Gods advice on health.

Did you not also read that the clean and unclean was seen back in Noah's day?

No one has to listen to the wisdom of God. No one has to trust His wisdom. So by all means do as you wish. For what we sow we will reap.
God is the one who says something is clean or not clean and that not based on the animal itself, because God said so.

"I am convinced, being fully persuaded in the Lord Jesus, that nothing is unclean in itself. But if anyone regards something as unclean, then for that person it is unclean.

Nothing you just said changes the fact that these meats that God said were unclean are still to this day diseased and not good for us. Like I said, you do what you want, eat what you want. You don't have to use the facts or common sense if you don't want.

God gives us wisdom we can reject it, God gives us help we can reject it. You can say what you want the fact remains.

I wont condemn you or judge you for your choice. Just saying it how it is.

"About noon the following day as they were on their journey and approaching the city, Peter went up on the roof to pray. He became hungry and wanted something to eat, and while the meal was being prepared, he fell into a trance. He saw heaven opened and something like a large sheet being let down to earth by its four corners. It contained all kinds of four-footed animals, as well as reptiles and birds. hen a voice told him, “Get up, Peter. Kill and eat.”

“Surely not, Lord!” Peter replied. “I have never eaten anything impure or unclean.”
The voice spoke to him a second time, “Do not call anything impure that God has made clean.”

===================================================

In the scripture above, in the sheet that Peter saw was filled with many of the animals that, according to the law could not be eaten. Peter's reply: "Surely not, Lord! I have never eaten anything impure or unclean” is based on his knowledge of the law of clean and unclean. The scripture above has a double meaning to it. Under the law, a Jew could not come under the roof or eat with a Gentile, as they were deemed unclean by God. Also, according to the law, those animals, insects, birds and reptiles were deemed by God as unclean.

The scripture above carries with it a double meaning 1) God has deemed all food as clean and 2) Gentiles were also now deemed as clean by God and that because of the new covenant. It is God who deems something as being clean or not clean and that not based on the subject itself. Both Jew and Gentiles are human beings, being of the same flesh. But a Jew was deemed by God as clean, whereas a Gentile was deemed unclean and that not based on either of their physical make-up, but because God said so..

We are all free in Christ! Eat whatever your faith allows you eat, but be aware and considerate of other believers who are weak in faith.

that is right. He took the charges against us, not the law.
if you get a speeding ticket, you go in and pay your fine. The law is satisfied, but they don't run out and rip down the speed limit signs, just because your fine was paid.
This has been debated many times here on this forum. The problem many brethren still appear to be having is thinking somehow God will cleanse unhealthy food if we just pray over it. And because of that attitude, many that make a habit of eating unhealthy are sick from it.

God did not change His creation. He created things like buzzards to cleanse the earth by eating dead carcase. The buzzard did not suddenly become something clean to eat by our Lord Jesus sacrifice upon the cross.

Trying to say the blanket of unclean animals God showed Peter was about God changing His list of clean and unclean meats is a false interpretation also. God was using the unclean animals as a symbol only, for the Gentiles, as proven by Peter's own words later...

Acts 10:28
28 And he said unto them, Ye know how that it is an unlawful thing for a man that is a Jew to keep company, or come unto one of another nation;
but God hath shewed me that I should not call any man common or unclean.
KJV

That doesn't say "any animals" there does it? No! It would, if... the subject was really about the animals God showed Peter.

Think about this, Peter was a direct student of the Messiah. They had meals together many times. Do you think Messiah forgot to tell Peter that all foods are clean?

Genesis: 34. 5. And Jacob heard that he had defiled Dinah his daughter: now his sons were with his cattle in the field: and Jacob held his peace until they were come. 6. And Hamor the father of Shechem went out unto Jacob to commune with him. 7. And the sons of Jacob came out of the field when they heard it: and the men were grieved, and they were very wroth, because he had wrought folly in Israel in lying with Jacob's daughter; which thing ought not to be done. 8. And Hamor communed with them, saying, The soul of my son Shechem longeth for your daughter: I pray you give her him to wife. 9. And make ye marriages with us, and give your daughters unto us, and take our daughters unto you. 10. And ye shall dwell with us: and the land shall be before you; dwell and trade ye therein, and get you possessions therein. 11. And Shechem said unto her father and unto her brethren, Let me find grace in your eyes, and what ye shall say unto me I will give. 12. Ask me never so much dowry and gift, and I will give according as ye shall say unto me: but give me the damsel to wife. 13. And the sons of Jacob answered Shechem and Hamor his father deceitfully, and said, because he had defiled Dinah their sister: 14. And they said unto them, We cannot do this thing, to give our sister to one that is uncircumcised; for that were a reproach unto us: 15. But in this will we consent unto you: If ye will be as we be, that every male of you be circumcised; 16. Then will we give our daughters unto you, and we will take your daughters to us, and we will dwell with you, and we will become one people. 17. But if ye will not hearken unto us, to be circumcised; then will we take our daughter, and we will be gone. 18. And their words pleased Hamor, and Shechem Hamor's son. 19. And the young man deferred not to do the thing, because he had delight in Jacob's daughter: and he was more honourable than all the house of his father. 20. And Hamor and Shechem his son came unto the gate of their city, and communed with the men of their city, saying, 21. These men are peaceable with us; therefore let them dwell in the land, and trade therein; for the land, behold, it is large enough for them; let us take their daughters to us for wives, and let us give them our daughters. 22. Only herein will the men consent unto us for to dwell with us, to be one people, if every male among us be circumcised, as they are circumcised. 23. Shall not their cattle and their substance and every beast of theirs be ours? only let us consent unto them, and they will dwell with us. 24. And unto Hamor and unto Shechem his son hearkened all that went out of the gate of his city; and every male was circumcised, all that went out of the gate of his city. 25. And it came to pass on the third day, when they were sore, that two of the sons of Jacob, Simeon and Levi, Dinah's brethren, took each man his sword, and came upon the city boldly, and slew all the males. 26. And they slew Hamor and Shechem his son with the edge of the sword, and took Dinah out of Shechem's house, and went out. 27. The sons of Jacob came upon the slain, and spoiled the city, because they had defiled their sister. 28. They took their sheep, and their oxen, and their asses, and that which was in the city, and that which was in the field, 29. And all their wealth, and all their little ones, and their wives took they captive, and spoiled even all that was in the house. 30. And Jacob said to Simeon and Levi, Ye have troubled me to make me to stink among the inhabitants of the land, among the Canaanites and the Perizzites: and I being few in number, they shall gather themselves together against me, and slay me; and I shall be destroyed, I and my house.

Why would an all-knowing God make (healthy) dietary laws and then tell His Son to go and change that? Did He change His mind about pork chops?
You are to abstain from food sacrificed to idols, from blood, from the meat of strangled animals and from sexual immorality. You will do well to avoid these things.
Acts 15:29

You are right there is a divide in the covenants.
The general view is the old covenant was a covenant of a nation and how to behave in
civil life, in governing a whole community.

The new covenant is a spiritual covenant which addresses the internal spiritual realities of
what it means to be pure, having communion with God and walking in His ways.

Jesus emphasised though unclean food is not good for you, in a real spiritual sense it does
not defile you, it is what comes out of the heart that defiles you.

So the question is as christians are we called to live spiritual and civil lives equally.
And the answer of the apostles is spiritual, with compromises over the civil realities.
Pauls argument is it is up to your conscience. If you feel bound by the dietry restrictions,
then amen, if not, then amen. Do not be a stumbling block to your brothers and sisters.

A good example of this is alcohol. If you are aware the damage alcohol does to peoples
lives and alcoholism is such a burden to many, being teetotal maybe the answer.

For me it is not a problem, and I will have a glass now and then. But I do see the issue.

There is an interesting irony here.
We are moving to a world that will probably become vegetarian out of necessity to feed the worlds population
and move away from meat and fish as a source of food.

If this is actually possible, I can see the blessing this will be to all. So much harm is done to animals
and unnecessary suffering. But I do not see this as a spiritual issue, just inevitable.

1 Corinto: 9. 9. For it is written in the law of Moses, Thou shalt not muzzle the mouth of the ox that treadeth out the corn. Doth God take care for oxen? 10. Or saith he it altogether for our sakes? For our sakes, no doubt, this is written: that he that ploweth should plow in hope; and that he that thresheth in hope should be partaker of his hope. 11. If we have sown unto you spiritual things, is it a great thing if we shall reap your carnal things? 12. If others be partakers of this power over you, are not we rather? Nevertheless we have not used this power; but suffer all things, lest we should hinder the gospel of Christ. 13. Do ye not know that they which minister about holy things live of the things of the temple? and they which wait at the alter are partakers with the alter? 14. Even so hath the Lord ordained that they which preach the gospel should live of the gospel. 15. But I have used none of these things: neither have I written these things, that it should be so done unto me: for it were better for me to die, than that any man should make my glorying void. 16. For though I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory of: for necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel! 17. For if I do this thing willingly, I have a reward: but if against my will, a dispensation of the gospel is committed unto me. 18. What is my reward then? Verily that, when I preach the gospel, I may make the gospel of Christ without charge, that I abuse not my power in the gospel. 19. For though I be free from all men, yet have I made myself servant unto all, that I might gain the more. 20. And unto the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might gain the Jews; to them that are under the law, as under the law, that I might gain them that are under the law; 21. To them that are without law, as without law, (being not without law to God, but under the law to Christ,) that I might gain them that are without law. 22. To the weak became I as weak, that I might gain the weak: I am made all things to all men, that I might by all means save some. 23. And this I do for the gospel's sake, that I might be partaker thereof with you.

To say this vision is about making all foods clean is a private interpretation, because Scripture gives the correct interpretation when it says it is about people.
What does that mean?

Christ’s finished works made the ceremonial food clean not the vision, God ‘s interpretation to us..It revealed to us because of the reformation they are clean . Its why he told Peter eat and not do not not eat.

The vision is scripture and therefore not a private interpretation. What you read is God’s interpretation so why would you call it a private revelation according to someone’s else interpretation other than God?

Who told you it was a private interpretation? Perhaps you should explain what you think a private interpretation is. I am sure its not anyone else but your own interpretation. Scripture informs us not to lean on our own private interpretations .

What do you think the reason was for ceremonial laws that where uses up until the time reformation? Or is the reformation a private interpretation also because it does not agree with yours?

Scripture, God's interpretation infallibly informs us that ceremonial laws were used as a parable translated pattern .Parables hide the spiritual meaning from those who refuse to mix faith in what they do hear coming from the word of God.

What is the spiritual meaning of eat flesh, drink blood of Christ which typified all of the fleshly laws ?

Which was a figure/parable for the time then present, in which were offered both gifts and sacrifices, that could not make him that did the service perfect, as pertaining to the conscience;Which stood only in meats and drinks, and divers washings, and carnal ordinances, imposed on them until the time of reformation.Heb 9:9

What does it stood only in meats and drinks, and divers washings, and carnal ordinances, imposed on them until the time of reformation? Will you answer that question?

Are we still waiting for the refomation because Christ has not come in the flesh as the Jews believe? Or is the book Hebrews a private revelation also?

Think about this, Peter was a direct student of the Messiah. They had meals together many times. Do you think Messiah forgot to tell Peter that all foods are clean?
He told Peter in the vision .we don’t have to think . they are God’s thoughts ....just believe .

If you don't believe that following the dietary laws is a "command", and that if we don't follow God's commands we will be lost, then why did you start the thread?

I'm not trying to be argumentative, but your disclaimer doesn't line up with what you are actually "pushing"...
What are you talking about? You obviously have confused me with someone else.

I did not start this thread. My 1st post in this thread was #69.

When GOD created all things HE declared all things "Good".
It isn't GOD who makes unclean things...it is the effects and affects of sin in the world which caused what was initially clean to become unclean...

Deuteronomy 14:8
"The pig, because it divides the hoof but
does not chew the cud, it is unclean for you. You shall not eat any of their flesh nor touch their carcasses."
