THIS POST IS NOT MEANT TO OFFEND OR BE FOUGHT OVER IT JUST GETS UNDER MY SKIN WHEN I SEE WOMEN WHO ACT DISRESPECTFUL TO THEIR HUSBAND.

Wives need primarily need love, husbands primarily need respect. God’s design for marriage is laid out in Ephesians 5, and His purpose goes WAY beyond the scope of the health of our individual marriages if we follow His design, we will have much healthier marriages. God’s highest purpose in marriage is to showcase the intimate relationship between Christ and His people. We are acting out a living parable where husbands represent Christ and wives represent the church to bring glory to God and to help our children and others around us grasp what God is like in a more concrete way.

Ephesians 5:22-33 = God’s design for marriage

When a man feels disrespected, he feels unloved!

Every man has his own list of what feels disrespectful and respectful to him. Some things are almost universally one way or the other to almost all men. Some things are particular to your husband. What matters most is what is respectful and disrespectful to YOUR man. That’s why it is important to ask him about his preferences and what bothers him and what speaks respect to him. You’ll need to custom-tailor your respect to your husband! Ultimately, we are really seeking to please Christ, not our husbands. He is our final Judge and Audience.

Women – you really have so much power to destroy your husbands or to build them up. I pray God will convict you and open your eyes and that you might learn to be respectful, cooperative wives who value your husbands’ leadership and who honor Christ with every thought, attitude, word and action.

I kinda think this starts with the man.

The man should think with his mind and not his hormones,
and try not to marry a woman who's hot and horrible.

I know lots of men who marry horrible women,
then act surprised when the marriage has problems.

But ya know, women do the same thing.

Disrespect isn't about disrespect.
There are usually all kinds of deeper issues going on.

I fully agree with you, but I do think in recent years it has been women that have been the aggressor in the relationship and had to be in control. It does make me sick to my stomach when I see women manipulate their husband into giving them a credit card to go shopping or to get their way.

For me personally, I am not aggressive and manipulate men to get what I want. I want the man to be head of the home and for God to be the center of the marriage. If you look back in biblical times manipulation is witchcraft and I don't want to be a part of that in any way, shape, or form. I desire to respect my future "husband" in a way of supporting him when he makes a decision, when he would discipline the kids I would not go behind his back and allow them to get away with thing. I would respect his space when he needs some time to himself and encourage him by always giving him positive feedback so he grows as being a man and head of the home.

Well, I have two friends, older than me and, each time I see his wife fighting or discussing in front of me, I have liked to disappear on a fading off.

That is his problem, not mine, btw.

The bible says wives submit to your husbands not husbands submit to your wives I do agree they both should respect each other but I the respect I am talking about is a one way street

Well I suppose you and I disagree then. The scripture do say this but they also say to treat each other as you want to be treated there are many scriptures speaking on respecting each other treating each other with love.

Love each other with genuine affection, and take delight in honoring each other. Romans 12:10

Philippians 2:3
Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves,

1 Peter 2:17
Show proper respect to everyone, love the family of believers, fear God, honor the emperor.

There are many more like I said it's not a one way street. If anyone deems a man more important more valuable or better than a woman then they don't understand how God sees us

I couldn't agree with you more. I mean, wouldn't you be happy with just being together? Things are not important, but the relationship is so sacred and should take precedence over an item.

I do agree with SecularHermit, that I don't like being corrected in public places where everyone can see them. So I wouldn't want someone to be fighting with me in a public place and I would never do that with him. When I see couples or even for that matter people in general fighting/arguing in public it makes me feel so uncomfortable and demeaning.

While I agree with you in principle, I will also say that we are commanded to do what we do biblically because it is right and what we are supposed to do that is biblical is not contingent upon what other people do or do not do....My Christian walk is not contingent upon what some one else does or does not do.....

Well, I meant if he needs to take a walk or needs some to think I would let him go do it and come back, but not in different houses. Although, I get where you are getting at.

I have heard *and I have read a lot* that, if a man wants to be dating X, he has not to be stingy or mean, as a prerrequisito... As any person can see, she has a price, she is trading with her emotions and, by inferences, with her body. I have approached to several like that, becasue these are MANIPULATIVES and...

But what about those gigolos? There are a lot, nowadays, particularly if any lady is somewhat a cougar, or too old to be liked (this happens to OLD men, who learned there is a price to get what they wanted).

Such is life! And each gender knows what each likes, and dislikes.

Thanks and I appreciate it.....if we all could keep that truth at the forefront of our minds......too many people who name Christ believe in doing unto others as has been done unto them....instead of doing unto others as you would have done unto yourself....Jesus when reviled did not revile back, but set his face like flint and done that which was biblical regardless of how he was treated, rejected, denied, mocked, ridiculed, beaten etc.........Just do what is right regardless of what everyone else does or does not do.......simple, biblical Christianity!
