Yea, me and sirk discussing highly flavorful metaphors and the others debating whether to baptize dogs or not.

EDIT: Also to end the latter debate, Revelation 22:15.
Revelation 22:15 -- "dogs" referring to humans who don't love the Lord. I know you know that.

You save man and beast, O Yahweh.
How precious is your loyal love, O God,
and the children of humankind
take refuge in the shadow of your wings.

Thank you! :)

Dogs is typically a euphemism for homosexuals, the violent, or false shepherds.

Pretty much just furthers my point on both the metaphor and the quite literal animal.

Quit hitting us with the Truth. Magenta! ;) There are people who dislike God's grace being afforded to anyone or anything but them, and we need to be mindful of their feelings.

Never looked at it regarding the homosexual slant. But again, Psalm 36 pertains to literal animals. :)

So Magenta, where would all these animals go? 50 billion chickens alone are killed each year, then think about all the wild animals with short life spans, mice and rats for example, imagine if all the rats and mice over thousands of years were brought back to life and live in the new earth, what about rabbits, fish as well or don't they count? Other small birds as well, the list is endless, so sorry I can not see any animals being resurected with new bodies to live for eternity on new earth, there would be no room.

Have you ever been around great Pyrenees? They are fantastic animals and they literally believe they are a sheep...they're just not afraid to use their teeth to protect their adopted family.

You're thinking as man thinks, not as God thinks.

Deuteronomy 23:18 for an example of that use of the term dog. Bible never really speaks too highly of dogs, closest I can think of off the top of my head is when Jesus tells the woman its not fit to give dogs food for children and she responds that the dogs will eat the scraps though.

As for just animals in general, animals are cool and all, but people are way more important. From time to time when I cross a creature's path I wonder what the Patriachs and Matriarchs of the animals on Noah's Ark looked like, but guess it ain't too important. That verse about the sparrows always comes across my mind when people get on the topic of animal salvation.

Matthew 10:31

[SUP]31 [/SUP]Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows.

What an odd concept... not enough room in God's creation for His creatures.
Personally I am not going to worry about how God does it. :)
If He wants to, He will, regardless of anybody's misgivings.

That culture looked down on dogs but they still used them to guard their stuff. Dogs figured out that people weren't so bad because they were a source of food. In that culture it was sort of a mutually beneficial relationship. Modern guard dogs are loyal, brave and are a valued member of the modern families pack....and they do many different jobs....and some of them even sleep in their masters bed.

Lol that's my favorite breed. One of my friends from back in high school had one of them actually for many years. Died a while back though. They are admittedly pretty cool looking dogs, but they sure ain't sheep.

Eww dude no, don't let it on the bed.

Lol the Bible looks down on dogs in the OT, and even more tellingly in the NT because they're disgusting. Ain't nothing to do with culture.

Ok I'll try to be more clear.

The Bible looks down on dogs in the Old Testament, and even more tellingly in the New Testament, even the Gospels, because they're among the most disgusting animals on earth. They eat feces, they're vicious animals, they are well known to sodomize each other, etc. It's not a cultural thing, it's the animal.

Okay....so.....in our culture we like dogs...and.....that is also NOT a cultural thing? I'm confused.
