God is a Living God, he certainly acts still to this day. Raising up nations and casting them down. Woe to the four shameful generations of America that have procured to themselves the four sore judgements of God! Pestilence, famine, disasters, and the Sword. If they will only acknowledge that their ways were grievous and that God judged them he will spare, but if not, then A Sword Cometh.
... better watch out then ....

America was born in violence and dishonesty, it became great and rich through murder and slavery. It has always been a wicked nation.
No, America was once a great nation. It is really not until recently they have done most heinously with all their whoredom, adultery, divorce, feminism, idolatry, and homosexuality. These things are the root, and so many other attendant wickednesses from the root were made popular by the first shameful generation, the baby boomers they are called. May they not go to the grave justifying themselves and their highly wicked ways. Seeing as they are still alive and the first two judgements be passed, may they continue to see the four sore judgements of God against them and the languishing of their children who followed in their wicked ways and even defended and glorified in them, disinheriting themselves from the land. Perhaps one of the generations will see wisdom and make the acknowledgements and repent and be spared and even blessed, but if not, let them know for certainty no nation has ever survived the Sword of God.

When the amalakite came to David telling the news of Saul, boasting he had slain Saul, David slew him for daring to stretch forth his hand against God's anointed. David composed an eulogy in praise of Saul.

Righteous Jonathon also perished with Saul.

Saul was punished, he was not damned.
Indeed. Saul turned wicked, and yes, Jonathon was good. That Amalekite was a liar too thinking he'd get a reward, and a reward he got indeed by the edge of the Sword. It is interesting how David executes the judgements of God that Saul refused to do. Ah the tragedy that is 1 Samuel! A fantastic book all by itself.

"I am distressed for thee my brother Jonathon! How the mighty are fallen in high places"

God certainly strikes people and whole nations down all the time, even still. In fact he's pouring out his Four Sore Judgements on America most certainly, and it seems on the other lands too.
For this age we have the fullest possible revelation of God in Christ Jesus.
He may overturn thieves tables and drive them out of His church with whips. But we have no record of Him slaying anybody.

The ancients turned the church into a den of thieves and were met with a whip, but the followers of Jezebel and those doing like the manner of Peor doing whoredom and idolatry that turned the church into a brothel, oh woe to them, for it says Jesus shall fight them with the Sword in the book of the Revelation.

Saul is still a teacher in the church as is Lot's wife, Samson and others of God's servants who fell, the Jews in the wilderness.

"These things happened to them as an example for us upon whom the end of the world has come, that we might not fall as they did"

But they are still of the church. They are punished but not damned.

... neither Jezebel or Peol are saved or any that follow them, the christian duty is leave such an assembly when the Lord knocks.

This is true, an example indeed! Pots made to be shattered.

Well, and to tie back to the subject a bit, they clearly lost the faith. This is no good, they are condemned of themselves, King Saul is the great example though indeed you are right David did love him.

Ah those that overcome and hear shall be rewarded with mighty gifts indeed! Hidden manna, a white stone with a new name, a rod of iron to smash the nations to shivers, and the morning star to name a few.

Oh not only just the church is this about.

Nevertheless, well the good news is that the second sore judgement only just began and the famine and dire economic turmoil has set in to rip away all their wealth by which they justify their wicked ways, so in theory one of the generations of shame could seeing all this acknowledge how wicked their ways are and acknowledge that God is a Living God who is judging them openly to their faces for he is powerful and just, and repent and stop doing all these things and be spared and even blessed.

Lol I like how you make the assertion first then ask the loaded question after.

Oh how the Proverbs are full of wisdom, a snare set before the bird in its sight never works!
Nevertheless, no, Jesus isn't dangling a carrot. You have to faith that Jesus was crucified and resurrected. If Jesus wasn't crucified and resurrected all faith is in vain.
Actually my niece FaceTimed me so I hit post by accident before I was finished. Don’t ASSUME. Lol This conversation has gotten goofy for me. I think you simply what to argue and not have an intelligent dialogue. What a shame given the topic.

What I would like know is how many times can a person lose their salvation and then gain it back?
This is an interesting question but irrelevant in my opinion. It's like the question: If God created all things, who created God? It's interesting to think about but really not important. The scriptures teach that Yahweh is eternal; He wasn't created.

Likewise, we have clear and convincing scriptures that teach we aren't completely saved until we die or the Lord comes. Therefore we can't "lose" our salvation, we can only walk away from the Lord and stop serving Him. If we repent and return to Him, He'll graciously forgive us; but if He comes while we are off on or own, or if we die, that might not be the greatest situation for us.

Not so. Frankly what I do is say my piece in one post, usually the first one I make on a topic. Though sometimes some other points will catch my eye. Believe it or not I actually read much more than I write, and I read more than the topics I post on. After that then it is simply pretty much just replying to whoever pings me unless they go too far into personal attacks and it just looks totally fruitless to continue putting up with them, though I will excuse some of it to a point at first. I try to keep up with the replies based on the principle of if they want to go a mile, I want to try to go two miles with them to show I am genuine.

Seriously you need to study the Bible.

Lot's wife!!

Many in the great flood.

Many in parting of the sea.

Surely you mean another point?

1 Corinthians 3:15~ If anyone’s work is burned up, he will suffer loss, though he himself will be saved, but only as through fire.

I completely agree. Some are content with notion of “I’m in”. That’s a dangerous position to take. Magenta posted the scripture I was thinking of.

In terms of saying that you are saved and then thinking you are saved eternally, no absolutely not. That is a total lie. You are truly saved at the resurrection. Don't end up like King Saul.
Jesus says otherwise.

Oh Nicodemus didn't understand Jesus was talking about the resurrection either, which is kind of amazing considering he was a priest and all. His question to Jesus is hilariously ridiculous; "how can one climb back up into their mother's womb and be born again?" Lol funny Nicodemus.

If you were Nicodemus you wouldn’t understand at that moment either. Thankfully today we have the Holy Spirit who teaches us proper understanding. Well, some of us. 😉
