Seriously people have given some good answers here. As a Christian we are supposed to flee from lust in any form it may take. That's what makes a monogamous marriage strong, it's God's way.

I'm single, I don't get any of the luxuries a married man does. No sex, I can't look at my wife (since I don't have one), nothing. I get to curl up with a book at night (or in my case a Kindle). It's not everything I want, but it's everything I need, because I have Christ.

So it involves petting too. Thank you for helping drive the point home. It's sad you had to use Merriam-Webster's dictionary instead of the Bible though. Please note. I'm not criticizing you here, I'm saying it's sad if someone needs a definition from a dictionary becaue they don't like the answer found in the Bible.

YES, it's sex!

If you touch yourself at night, it's sex. Sex isn't just something that makes babies, it's something people do together for enjoyment, and it always involves sexual desire. If you're not married, it's lust, and it's bad. If you're married, then do whatever you want, go at it like bunny rabbits if you have to.

if thats the case, people have sex with the dogs and cats every day, which is a sin. since when did God condone sex with animals.

God said the animal and the person having sex with the animal were both to be put to death in the Old Testament.

And you don't pet an animal for sexual gratification unless there's something seriously wrong with you. I like being facetious but you're just acting plain crazy here.

The OP asked if "oral sex" is sex,
To answer the question, "sex" must be defined.
A specific definition of intercourse is not given in the Bible, or at least I haven't seen one.
The Bible is not a dictionary.
It's okay (not sad) to use a dictionary to ascertain what words mean.

As expected, this got way out of hand and outside of the realm of appropriate discreet discussion. It's obvious that the OP is right in his mind and not open to any other opinion. Yes, I read every post in this thread and am amazed at how this thread became a track and field event with people jumping to conclusions, throwing accusations, and running off making off color suggestive posts.
