This country is based more on minorities than majorities. The Founders did not want a tyranny of the majority, nor a tyranny of the minority. So if the issue is unconstitutional, in America it shouldn't even be an option to vote on.

You can't vote to deny someone their constitutional rights. Even though we do/have.
Well said. You can't ban something even if the majority are in favour of it. If they do, then we can all say goodbye to freedom.

Of course not. Cigarettes are a legitimate source of pleasure for a great many people. Smoking is not inherently immoral and neither is it necessarily 'bad' for you (not that that would be a good enough reason to ban them anyway).
WHAT?!?!?!?! wow...

I want them to ban alcohol before they ban cigarettes. Cigarettes never killed anyone on the roads.

seriously though alcohol is a big killer it needs to go. I hope they ban it in my lifetime. The streets aren't safe anymore or the roads.

No kidding..
In my country we already have around 20 people for 2010 who died in a car accident and the total deaths for 2009 is 110. in 2008 it was around 90 people who died.and get this, the total population of my country is only 400.000 so you do the math....sad to say that it's getting worse every year

Idiots aside, it is convenient. I've enjoyed being able to pick up some booze and baccy from petrol stations when all the other shops are shut.

well that's the reason for NOT having it there... there are enough drunk people as it is
(mind though: people in norway CAN'T drink... at least not youths... they always get drunk)

No, that's a reason for punishing drink drivers and others who actually cause trouble. It's not a good enough reason to stop ordinary Joe Bloggs picking up a bottle of wine for his wife on the way home from work.
