seriously though alcohol is a big killer it needs to go. I hope they ban it in my lifetime. The streets aren't safe anymore or the roads.
We tried that here in America only lead to bad things like organized crime and making criminals out of everyday Americans. Should Christ have not turned the water to wine at the wedding feast if they had cars back then?

Either ban cars or alcohol both are not compatible.
We'll probably have mandatory breathalysers built into our ignitions here in America before too long. I know a few people that got caught drinkin n drivin that have them.

It's an excellent idea.

There are also beer bottles that won't open unless you press the right button on your car keys. That's a joke.

No, that's a reason for punishing drink drivers and others who actually cause trouble. It's not a good enough reason to stop ordinary Joe Bloggs picking up a bottle of wine for his wife on the way home from work.

well yes, but that would also go for other drugs then, which it doesn't, so keeping alcohol legal makes no sense while other drugs are illegal

I suppose it is inconsistent. But I'd rather see the legalisation of other drugs than the banning of alcohol.

me to, but that's never going to happen, so banning alcohol is easier. AND it will keep thousands of people from getting stabbed, beaten etc every friday and saturday night just because people use being drunk as an excuse to fight

In my city, in the past 48 hours, two people have been killed by drunk drivers. One a 16 year old boy and the other a grandfather. Also in the past 48 hours in my city, a drunk man walked up to a line of cars sitting at a stop light, pulled out a gun and shot one of the men in the head that was sitting at the stop light in his car.

I wonder why humans are so self destructive that we willingly drink something that actually kills our brain cells

Keep in mind that as you buy cigarettes, you're really doing a great service to your country. Taxes on tobacco products pay for the wars around the world.

Tobacco products require a complex manufacturing line, millions spent on R&D, marketing, lawsuits, etc... Whereas something like spinach, or marijuana, grows freely throughout the world, can easily be harvested at little to no cost and is ready to eat off the shelf so to speak.

Ask yourself this, why is marijuana illegal instead of cigarettes? or at least could someone tell me? Something to remember is, tobacco kills around 500,000 Americans every year, thats 1 in 5 deaths. Can anybody tell me how many people die from marijuana? that is a honest question, I'm curious to know. I read an article on the web that it's like 50 - 90k deaths worldwide. Can anybody validate this?

I would like to see tobacco products prohibited. I think God looks down at our sorry excuse of a civilization and cries, all we do is make money from the suffering of millions.

God bless you and your country

Another note, the Government says YES, YES. But our lives say NO, NO! When did we become expendable?

We need the Lord Jesus Christ to save us. Who will pray with me for the Lord to return soon?

God bless all of Gods children.

just one more thing, as soon as you start making substances illegal, it creates an underground economy for really bad people to make money from, not that tobacco execs are bad enough. Prohibition of alcohol in the 1920's gave Al Capone the opportunity to make money. But today we have drug dealers, too many of them. How do we get rid of this problem??

God bless

true, only problem is, some things need to be illegal for people not do do them (like stealing). If everyone would think more about others than themselves then we'd need no rules :)

Well, the bible approves (and in some cases even promotes!) the drinking of alchohol (within moderation, of course), so...

Anyway, if your distaste for human usage of alcohol is based on the fact that too much of it kills your brain cells, you might not watch TV, use a computer, etc. A lot of things we do on a daily basis actually have a part in killing brain cells too.

watching a TV don't literally kill them... alcohol is toxic... (I do drink alcohol myself... I just don't get why it is more accepted than other stuff)

Not with average TV watching, no, but if you watch it long enough it can actually kill them.

Anyway, I agree with you. I've tipped a couple glasses while cooking with alchohol before, I don't have a problem with it, but it is definitely more accepted than other things.

But, if we look at it in a broader aspect, less harmful things than alchohol are treated like the sin of humanity, while alchohol and cigarettes are perfectly acceptable.

*shrug* The same kind of people who decide what sins are worse than others and more deserving of hatred and/or condemnation. Sinful, fallen men and women who base their view of right and wrong on what is convenient for them.
