You osas folks deny this to your death. You say once you have it, it can never be lost or taken away.

Anyone that reads my posts know that I try to read the bible every day. And this morning I came across something that, the first few times I read, it meant little to me, but this morning realized it has great merit in this topic. Neat how His word does that, huh?

So I have always said you can backslide, as the bible tells us repeatedly, yet some deny, and have given several times my personal testimony of doing it myself, along with irrefutable evidence.
Yet some still sin daily and claim to be saved.

So tell me, does God ever break a promise?
Maybe the god you worship breaks promises, but God doesn't.

You did as I requested and I applaud you for that.
Let me tell you exactly what my state was in so that we're clear.
I did nothing but drink for weeks before that coma. Getting drunk didn't put me in the coma, running out of potassium did.
Doc told me I was maybe 1 or two days most away from dying.
Weeks of drinking, watching porn on the computer, just whatever I wanted to do. Weeks. No food, just whiskey. A prolonged period of sinning minute by minute.
AFTER the doc told me I almost died, he kept me in the hospital on an IV for 6 days and released me on the seventh. I came home, picked up the bottle, and a couple of days later lapsed into the coma.
Knowing that, will you still contend that I was saved thru all of that?
Do you believe that had I died I would have gone to heaven?
Give God a little credit for crying out loud. Our works don't save us, and neither do our mistakes condemn us once we are in Christ because God's saving grace in Jesus Christ sustains us throughout our mistakes and relapses. Its called life. The answer to your question is a resounding yes.

So you believe sin is allowed in heaven. This is a bible forum. Since you think the bible is a lie, why are you here?

Do you think He abandons those who are His at the very times when they need Him the most??
That's some outstanding witnessing right there, my Brother!

Your post just made my day! I can't wait to go forth and rejoice!

So you think the bible is false. Got it.
2 Corinthians 1:20

"For no matter how many promises God has made, they are “Yes” in Christ. And so through Him the “Amen” is spoken by us to the glory of God."

Zechariah 11:6-11 "For I will no more pity the inhabitants of the land, saith the Lord: but, lo, I will deliver the men every one into his neighbour's hand, and into the hand of his king: and they shall smite the land, and out of their hand I will not deliver them. And I will feed the flock of slaughter, even you, O poor of the flock. And I took unto me two staves; the one I called Beauty, and the other I called Bands; and I fed the flock.

Three shepherds also I cut off in one month; and my soul lothed them, and their soul also abhorred me.

Then said I, I will not feed you: that that dieth, let it die; and that that is to be cut off, let it be cut off; and let the rest eat every one the flesh of another.

And I took my staff, even Beauty, and cut it asunder, that I might break my covenant which I had made with all the people.

And it was broken in that day: and so the poor of the flock that waited upon me knew that it was the word of the Lord."

Folks, when you break your agreement with God, He is no longer bound by it either. You broke it, and He allows it. When He honors your transgression, He makes that break official. God will break His vow. Don't keep screwing up.
That was before Jesus' death and Resurrection. We live under a New Covenant -- GRACE!

So you don't give a damn what scripture says. Got it.
You have no clue what backsliding is, do you? Go back to the old testament and look it up. Look at the destruction israel brought on itself by backsliding.
There is no sin in heaven. Period.
If you sin, you must repent before you can be saved.
Had I died in a coma, I would have gone to hell. Why? Because I had not repented of what I had been doing. I was a sinner, full of sin. God would never have allowed me entry.
Anyone that believes anything else is_________. You fill in the blank. Let's just say it ain't smart to believe something to be truth that the bible says is a lie.
So Jesus only washed you of a few sins? Is that what you're saying? Not for nothing but it seems you didn't need to die to experience Hell -- you're living it right now because you fail to embrace the fullness of God's saving grace in Jesus Christ.

We need to move the stale old conversation away from the "works don't save us' meme (which we all know is true anyways), into the broader, more realistic reality that works encompass not just good works, but sinful works as well. Those who think that they have the liberty to live sinful lives will reap what they rightfully deserve.

Congratulations Phil. Another day and another jackass statement by you (not to mention post 47).

Which Bible are you reading? Either the pages discussing God's grace and our humility have been torn out or you keep skipping over it. But I digress, keep reading, you may stumble upon both.

Not really. Righteousness has always been by faith. It has given us the ability to do righteousness.
What it's given us is Jesus Christ. Because the previous means, man, could not achieve it. So God provided another means….Himself. He came as a man and has done for us what we could never do for ourselves.

Grace enables to not sin. It's not a license to sin.
I know that, Brother. We are called to live a righteous life in a glorifying manner, but we will still sin at times, and many will fall flat on their face as Phil describes, yet God will not forsake us.

Amen!..people that continue to sin and say they are under grace ( which it really means they don't want to change ) are not in fact under grace at all...for sin shall not have dominion over us because we are under grace and not law. These people are nullifying the grace that is available to them

Nullifying the grace of Christ that is available can also happen as Paul said to the Galatians by relying on their own self-effort to the self-righteous D.I.Y. holiness/self-performance types.

There are 2 sides to that coin of nullify the grace of God for our lives in Christ..one is just as bad as the other.

I know that, Brother. We are called to live a righteous life in a glorifying manner, but we will still sin at times, and many will fall flat on their face as Phil describes, yet God will not forsake us.

Lots of men in the OT achieved it. They were righteous through faith. What Christ has done is enable our perfection through the 1st resurrection of the dead.

That's Pelagius talking. We're here trying to talk with Phil. Why don’t you go derail some other thread?
