No one has even mentioned divorce. Although my parents ARE two people who NEVER EVER should have married each other, or better yet, had kids together..
Yet if they did not then we would not have you.
You are a blessing.

Same here for me though.
Not a blessing to others.
But a mother of ancestry of Islam who fell pregnant to my Catholic dad before marriage caused an issue.

On the abortion table at the last moment she said no (although much later in years she held that against me)

She divorced my dad.

But if I understand John146 correctly he is saying God will not divorce a believer.

Along the lines of "Never will I leave you or forsake you"

Jeremiah 3:14-15
14 “Return, O backsliding children,” says the Lord; “for I am married to you. I will take you, one from a city and two from a family, and I will bring you to Zion. 15 And I will give you shepherds according to My heart, who will feed you with knowledge and understanding.

And God does not renage on his promise.

He will not lose any that Jesus has given to him.
Even the dumb sheep that go astray.

Verses that have been encouragement to me: 1 Corinthians 1:8-9, Ephesians 1:13, Ephesians 4:30-32, Romans 5:8-10 and the story of Jesus appearing to Paul in Acts 9, Ephesians 5:25-27.

Take note in Ephesians 5:25-27 what purpose Jesus has for the church. He will accomplish this purpose for his people.

Also I combined Romans 5:8-10 to be read along with Acts 9 where Jesus appears to Paul. If you see the state Paul was in, he was on his way to persecute Christians and not only that but was " breathing out threatenings and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord" ( Acts 9:1) This was Paul's heart before Jesus reached out to him.

@blue_ladybug, if you take a look at the Lord's Prayer and the conclusion Jesus makes about forgiveness in Matthew 6:14-15, notice Jesus refers here to God as " your heavenly Father" ( v 14) and " your Father( v 15). According to Paul in Galatians 3:26 we are " all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus"

Jesus states in verse 14 " for if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you"

This verse does not mean that God forgives unbelievers their sins if they forgive others.
If salvation is contingent on forgiving others, then there is a contradiction between these verses and Ephesians 4:30 and 32.

It seems to me Jesus is talking about a different forgiveness here. I have heard different ideas such as not losing salvation but loss of some rewards or discipline. I am still not sure exactly what it means in Matthew 6:14-15.

The title says it all. Does He hear the prayers of those who keep backsliding, or who have strayed off the path to Him and are trying to return to Him? Or does He just ignore those prayers? If possible, bible verses would be great. :)
Heb 4;13 - neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight; but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do. 1 Cor 2:14 explains the nature of man, before he is regenerated, and he will not pray to a spiritual God, he thinks that it is foolishness. Romans 8:26-27, Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities, for we know not what we should pray for, as we ought, but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. And he that searcheth the heart knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God. 2 Chronicles 7:14, If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their mind.

just saw this thread,

MATT. 11:15.
He that has ears to hear, let him hear.
REV. 2:7.
He that has an ear, let him hear what The Spirit says unto the Churches;
To him that 'overcomes' will I give to eat of The Tree of Life, which is in the midst of The Paradise of God.
